  1. I would consider myself one of the biggest Vols fans you'll ever meet...just look at me screename. I image we're in about the same situtation that OR football is in. Now I would never stop going and stop supporting my team... really?... could you?
  2. Wow bballdude, i haven't posted on here in about two years but I had to comment on this one. I had been reading this thread all week and heard all the complaits about OR football. But I didn't realize how bad it was until I read your post. You probably feel the same as I do about the Vols right now /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> But you can't stop going like that...You love the atmosphere and more importantly OR football too much! GO VOLS!!!
  3. Ooltewah has given away 3 TD's. They've had two touchdowns dropped and one fumbled. Ooltewah is dominating this game, but they are making some crutial mistakes.
  4. Go to Alive105.com and listen to it. 14-7 Smyrna
  5. LOL BasketballisBest, you are 0 for 1. Smyrna got the ball first.
  6. Trust me, it will not be close enough for Smyrna to have a change to tie at the end of regulation. Ooltewah rolls.
  7. Ooltewah has too much talent and speed for Smyrna, add in one of the greatest coaches in Tennessee history and you have a Owls win going away. Ooltewah - 31 Smyrna - 10
  8. Something funny I just noticed. Does any of this talk about Smyrna remind you of another team Ooltewah played in the playoffs? SEVIER COUNTY. Thier fans talked them up so much only to be disappointed in the end. We heard all this crap about how their All-American QB was going to throw all over us. And how good their D was. We heard how they had a good balanced attack to go against the Owls stellar defense. And many people were picking against Ooltewah. This is the same exact thing that I am reading from Smyrna posters. And Smyrna fans don't act like you are better than Sevier County. Ya'll both went 8-2 in the regular season with both losses coming to good teams. SC-(DB, WB), Smyrna-(Riverdale, Ravenwood) So who knows, maybe Sevier County might be better than Smyrna? You will have one more thing in common after Friday, you will both have been put out by Ooltewah.
  9. If you want to go back 10 years, then you must include the Maryville of the 1990's, Cleveland, which of course is Benny Monroe's old stomping grounds.
  10. And what happened to George Mason in the round of 4? Thats right they lost to the eventual champions.
  11. I would slide Sevier County in front of Wooddale
  12. 21+? You must be kidding. Maryville won't even score 21. Not saying RB will win, but it will be close. Not a RB fan here.
  13. I don't think you understand why we are picking it to be a blowout. Its not becuase we don't have any respect for Farragut, or we think they are a bad team, Ooltewah is just that good. I said it earlier, Ooltewah was 2 TD's better than them last time they played. Farragut converted several 4th downs, and quite a few 3rd and longs with some great plays by thier QB to make it close. He is gone now. Don't expect to see the Owls D give up those big plays again. Do you remember the play were Sanders had a tailor made sack and just missed then the QB threw that really long pass for what I think was a TD in the 4th quarter? If Sanders makes that tackle, Farragut would have to punt it back to Ooltewah who already had a 14 point lead or so. The score could have very easily of looked like a blowout if he makes that one tackle. Yes, I know he didn't, just saying. Even though it turned out to be a 2 point game, the game was never really in doubt. Ooltewah rolls. Ooltewah - 31 Farragut - 10
  14. Ooltewah fans, I heard a rumor somewhere that Louisville was taking a good hard look at Brian Marshall. Is this true?
  15. Admiral, what does this have to do with the game? Congradulations on all your championships that your grandfather won. All this Owl generation knows how to do is win. All of these kids have been very successful in winning in thier time at Ooltewah. I would go out on a short limb, and say that Ooltewah probably has one of the best sports programs in the state when you consider every sport in recent years.. There is not one sport in which Ooltewah is bad in. See 2006 Spring Fling. These kids don't care that Ooltewah didn't make the playoffs before 2000. That has no affect on them what so ever. So quit bringing up the past, and talk about the present, which will be hard becuase you know its all coming to an end this Friday night for the ads.
  16. Lets not kid ourselves, the first game was not really that close. Yes, I know it ended up being just a two point win for the Owls, but come on. Ooltewah was 2-3 TD's better than Farragut that game, and that was with their QB throwing all around the field. Now that he is out, how are they going to make up that 2-3 TD difference? Ooltewah rolls in this one. Ooltewah - 31 Farragut - 10
  17. I remember hearing Stump Martin (guy who knows a ton about high school football) say that Ooltewah's D-line that year was one of the best if not the best he's ever seen. I personally believe that Ooltewah's entire team that year was better than this years team. Anyway, Red Bank played Ooltewah in the second round of the playoffs that year, and I think the final was 56-7 Red Bank. Riggs had something like 250 yds rushing and 6 TD's. You may be right about Maryville and Riverdale being better, I just don't see it. I've seen a lot of high school football and no team I've ever seen has come close to that Red Bank team.
  18. Actually, I doubt either one of those teams could have beaten RB back when they won the state championship. I believe they too were ranked in the top 10 nationally. Gerald Riggs was like no player I've ever seen before.
  19. Ooltewah wins in dominant fashion. The score may not indicate it but SC was never really in the game. They got a little momentum at the beginning of the second half after they recovered the onside kick, but that was it. And there is no way SC should have gotten that last play off in the first half. If you take that play away, and if Long makes that field goal toward the end, you have a 30-7 game. There was no doublt about who the better team was.
  20. Good post with a lot of reasoning behind it. The only thing is that I think a lot of your reasoning is wrong. QB - Even - I realize Woods may not put up the kind of numbers that Watson does and may not be the kind of athlete he is, but Woods is as good of a QB as they come. He does everything you can't ask for on a run-dominated team. RB - Ooltewah - Don't let some of the stats fool you. If Benny Monroe had left Marshall carry 20+ times every game. You would see him near the tops in the state. However, because Ooltewah would get such big leads early, his carries were limited. I believe there was 3 game where he had less than 10 carries. Plus, there is no was SC's RB is faster, being that Marshall is a track superstar in Tennessee. WR - SC - It wouldn't be a stretch to say that SC's receivers are better than Ooltewah's. Ooltewah's revievers get really open because of the run threat. However they do cause a lot of concern with their size DL - Ooltewah - I don't need an explination. LB - Ooltewah - Same thing you said DB - Even - The Owls DB's may be undersized and may give up some yards, but they always seem to make the big plays when needed. See SH game. Coach - Ooltewah - Do you know who the coach is?
  21. I disagree with the way the Ooltewah/SC game ends. It won't be the holder throwing it, it will be the kicker. The rest looks good.
  22. Wow, those freshmen scores are amazing
  23. Benny Monroe? All he did at Cleveland was win 56 straight games (I think) and 3 consecutive state championships. And now he is starting to turn Ooltewah into a statewide powerhouse.
  24. Someone told me the other day that not only is Ooltewah's varsity team undefeated, but so are the freshman and JV teams. Is this true? If it is, then the rest of the region, if not the state, is in serious trouble.
