  1. They have scrimmaged and played JV within the last ten years (don't know about recent). It was usually a Fulton victory. I guess it would be like 3a playing 4a champion. I think 4a champion would play a tough game with 5a champ. Maryville don't lose often . Interesting thought.
  2. Moore is tough. He is prob the best football player on the field on most nights, even tonite. But, I still think Harper has more athletic ability, he is just pure. I hope westview knocks him around, but he is a heck-of-va athlete. GO VOLS!!
  3. A few mistakes that lead to the mercy rule being applied. I don't think a few mistakes caused 49 points. I don't doubt trenton has improved, they better have to be in the playoffs. But i don't think they have improved enough to beat martin 45-13, lol. I would say it will be closer, but westview still pulls it out 35-13
  4. Moore and Legens are great guys and athletes. Both are also good students and great football players. I would start both players over harper. BUT, IMO I think Harper is a better athlete. When I say athlete, I am referring to verticle jump, 40yd time, bench press, etc. Once again that is my opinion. I don't have stats, just eyes.
  5. Nope, allowed the middle to stay pretty open. Str A gap was wide all night. As for moore and harper, having seen both for years, harper is a better athlete. However, moore is a better football player. Moore is the best football player in the area IMO. If both were on my team, moore would be my qb & fs. harper would have to play another position
  6. You are correct with both statements. Alcoa gone would make for a happy state, except blount county. Trenton over westview is not very likely. The mercy rule went into effect last time they played, won't be that bad this time but still not very close. JCS over milan would also be nice.
  7. One of the best post I have read on CoachT. I'm sure JCS will give an all out effort, and will probably win a few games. They were just the unlucky souls to be placed in a very tough 2A region. I don't think they will make the playoffs, but I didn't think they would win state last year This week will be a "Welcome to 2A" Westview 35 JCS 10
  8. Puckett, have you talk with Bob about maybe Weis using you as an assistant? I'm sure they will remember your name up there at ND. Their baseball is struggling too. Maybe help with football and baseball.
  9. What happens if Huningdon & Westview lose and Trenton wins, which is all likely? There will be a 3-way tie. Head-to-Head: Hunting beat Westview, Westview beat Trenton, Trenton beat Huntingdon. Do they go to pts scored or scored against?? Anybody have an idea???
  10. Dresden has some of the worst sportsmanship in the state. I think it is a reflection of their leadership, coaches. Sorry Lion fan, it's the truth!
  11. Yea, that was a crappy offense. They only put up 40+ points, wing-T never works!! Go back to the I, was very successful with that in the 90's (6-4, 5-5, etc). Pound that ball, score about 14 and win it with D. Stay away from that crappy, high scoring wing-T
  12. Alright bigman, you give me 21 and WHS, and you can try to win back one of those twenty cases you owe me. WHS made a few backfield replacements last week and they look good. Niether one is a great back, but they work together to make a tough backfield. Plus, WHS has Huntingdon's number. When was the last time Martin was picked to win this game?
  13. Westview did not have any offense against Camden, but they found it last week. Two new rb's have help spark this O. Huntingdon did not have any offense last week, but I don't think they will find it against the Chargers. WHS 24 HHS 13
  14. I think all private schools should play only Div II. The public schools are at a disadvantage before the game starts. I don't really care if the private schools win or lose, they should not be in the same class as public schools. GP & DL have been powers for awhile, that is why everybody points fingers at them. Moved em all to Div II
  15. I bet Donald still strikes it up the middle a few times. I believe Goodpasture is big & strong in the middle, but Donald has a little size too. I guess that I'm the only one that thinks like this, but I still hate to see private schools in public playoffs. I know the TSSAA has used the # system, but still think they need to be in Div II. With that said, Huntingdon wins by 20.
  16. Milan has one of the best D's in TN. The beat Martin because the DL shut down the inside and CB shut down outside. Never seen a DB breakdown and make a tackle as well as Milan did in that game.... BUT, Milan's D can not focus on one man this week. Stop thunder and you get hit by lightning. Huntingdon by 3. Great match-up
  17. Do you think that is why Carver stayed with Huntingdon until 4th qt? The stangs were so upset over the band not being there, and they finally realized they could play without the band and scored a few TDs. LOL. People, the football team does not care! Sure they like to hear it when they score, but they would even like cold fish when they scored. Band is there for halftime, little else
  18. Hope Huntingdon is ready!! Milan QB has really come on strong. The first game vs martin, he was not a factor. The playoff game, he was in control. He ran and passed everywhere. They put in the option and it worked great. He was the biggest danger on the field. Hope Huntingdon can learn something from the film.
  19. Alcoa is prob the best, but the 2nd 3rd & 4th would come from west TN. Huntingdon, Milan, and Westview(lost to Milan) would be the rest. The bad thing, they all play in the same region. I have seen Loudon play, just can't match up. I do hope they steal one from Alcoa, good luck.
  20. How can Milan be cocky and looking forward to the HHS rematch when they lost the ONLY 2 big games this year. Your other big game, you quit at halftime, no make up.... Westview should be the cocky ones, they won both big games.
  21. How can Milan be cocky and looking forward to the HHS rematch when they lost the ONLY 2 big games this year. Your other big game, you quit at halftime, no make up.... Westview should be the cocky ones, they won both big games.
  22. Speaking from inside, a lot of school systems have cut back on travel because of gas prices. They set a certain amount of $$ for gas for the year, and in July they did not predict gas to be $3.00 in Sept. Some schools have talked about cutting out long road trips with all athletic teams. Good luck to the Stangs'
  23. LOL, you know that is true. Huntingdon has more parks than Memphis & Nashville combined. No wonder the taxes are so high. If yall would take some of that park money and put into the band, the football team would get more enjoyment
  24. You know that prediction is just wishful thinking , H-Town will prob win by 20. Just don't want to see them again
