You were there as offensive co-ordinator? Why would you be asking for the score?
Bobby Baskin took over as O Coordinator August 30. I am an off the field coach (scouting, field work, eligibility, etc.)
Oveton looks like they will finish the regular season with a 9-1 record at worst depending on the HL game in which they should be favored slightly. My question is , who likely is their first round game against?
Fieldwalker wrote "Overton has beaten Whites Creek who is pretty darn good and who I also believe beat Maplewood which just hung in there with the #1 team in the state Ooltewah."
I agree that Whites Creek is pretty darn good but when exactly did Oveton beat them?
The Sprinfield faithful should be patient with this team as they will continue to get better with experience. They are playing many freshmen and sophomores which will pay off in the long run.
I have seen Wilson Central play once this year and i can say that the system isn't the problem. The execution is the problem. They have too many bonehead plays such as missed snaps to QB or poor throws to open receivers, dropped balls by receivers and missed tackles on D. They will get better with time and work. Any complex offense especially if it is new will take time and great coaching in which I have no idea if WC is gonna get either this season or next.
Will HC get penalized for using the train horn during play or will the referees allow this nonsense? Sure it is ok to use the horn but using it during play is classless, rude and shows poor sportsmanship.
This is always a very physical game matching two of Metro's most successful programs of late. Evidently no Boski this year, so I will start the thread. Maplewood has the State's Top O-Lineman and Hillsboro is the defending State Champs.
not a fan, but from what I have seen, they are the best Columbia team that I have seen in a while. Offensively, they are very versitile and execute well. John Moore has done a great job with the offense this year.
Don't blame CobraKurt. He is just stating the obvious..... McCord at the Central Office is a clown with no clue. Just like Fairview, expect many years of mediocracy at best.
Not sure about whipping Stone all over the field last year. Maplewood coaches said Smith rarely lined up opposite Stone. I see Rivals lists Stone (#36 Nations Best Player and #63 for Smith) but who cares about rankings. Each team has a win over the other the last two years. I see Stone has a better offer list but both must be good players. Good luck to both players next year.
Just wait until these guys have the summer 7 on 7 experience under their belts. This group will continue to improve as the season progresses. Knowing Coach Myers, they will be extremely physical and disciplined. With a few athletes, this team could be a little dangerous come late Oct. or early Nov.
Have not seen them practice this spring but i do know that with the offense that Myers is putting in, they will need all summer working at the 7 on 7 tournaments in order for this offense to gel. You will see Springfield improve from the beginning of the season to the end.
