Numbers are a little down but the kids that participated this spring improved and worked hard to learn a new defensive system. Replacing 3 all-state offensive skill players is a challenge and an opportunity for some younger kids to shine. Depth could be a concern but if many of the current kids get their grades in order, 2009 season could be a positive one.

Heard Fairview will scrimmage Hunters Lane. Will a yellowjacket give us a report after the game? Good move for fairview going against a larger school. Not sure what this says for Hunters Lane.

There was no drama at Fairview. They had their coach picked out before the other guy resigned. All the interviews were only for show. IMO, Harris will be better off at the middle school.

Is there any word about spring ball from the Creek, Pearl, Strat., Glen. or the Lane?

How is Spring Ball going in Springfield? Are the kids picking up on the new system?

I don't see where Branum has signed with Alabama. Can you provide a link to this new information. Congratulations to this kid if this is indeed true.

I never met Dr. Nash or talked with Nash because McCord kept intercepting my messages to Nash thus preventing me from telling him how much of a jerk his employer (McCord) is. If Nash is anything like McCord, lord help the entire county. The good people of Hickman Co. deserve School Board employees to be professional and efficient and it looks like they are neither. This is not a shot at the new coach because i hope he does well for his family's sake and the kids sake. To restate the obvious: McCord is a jerk!

Will there be Spring practice? Does Dr. Nash realize how rude and unprofessional McCord is? This guy is a real jerk. Good people in Hickman Co., unfortunately the athletics will be subpar for years to come. Good luck to the new coach.

Announcements have been made yesterday and today at the school to report to locker room today at 2:20 to get equipment and max out with weights. Spring calendar will more than likely be given to the kids and sport physicals information probably will be given out as well.

Moreno is a great coach and a really good person. He is the reason Campbell has had success at Hunters Lane. Curious why Lockridge ran with this story without getting a response from Moreno. Doesn't seem very professional.

You seem to have an agenda and it is not pretty. No violations are happening and yet you can't let it go. Did Blade not give you a job on the staff or does your child not get enough playing time and/or attention?

The way i understand it is that the board interviewed and narrowed it down to 2 or 3 for the Superintendant to interview. My question is "Does the Principal of the school have any say so in who is hired at his school?"

Darkhorse candidate for HC is Bobby Baskin from McGavock with his hybrid shotgun wing T offense and 3-5 defense could be a good fit for E. Hickman. My money is still on Harris.

Interviews are this week. Harris should be named HC sometime next week imo. Does anyone know if Principal Jackson will be involved in this process or is it really just McCord's decision at the board?

Komisar has pulled his name out of consideration for this position. Harris at the middle school is the obvious choice here! Principal Jackson seems like a great guy but I feel this coaching hire is not his decision. Good luck to East Hickman next year.

No off-week! The kids worked out Mon-Thur. this week with Coach Fite.

Coach Alvin Fite has been running the weights/conditioning program Monday-Thursday since Blade's departure. The varsity kids from last year's team are working their tails off to improve.

I see that rivals has him listed second in the state behind OL James Stone from Maplewood who is ranked 36 in the country. I believe they played against each other the last two years. How did this battle turn out? I think the owls won and then the panthers won last year. These guys probably went against each other. Who performed better? Who is the better prospect for the next level?

No, but special transfers were usually granted if one school had a class that another did not. This was a common practice for all metro schools. Good luck to RWood on their search
