Rowdy, be careful what you ask for. The only problem is, you found out the kitty was a Tiger. Great game to watch. Both teams played great defense and Whitwell seemed to win field advantage. MC can still make the playoffs and have a good season. The Tigers, I believe, have already qualified and we will see how they do with a very tough second half schedule. No easy-ones for both team although MC may have the eaier road with Bledsoe and Telico still to come. Good luck to both.

Your joking right? Please tell me you are not that ignorant. I'm no stat man, but didn't three of the four first downs that Marion County got in the first half come due to penalties AGAINST WHITWELL! That's what Dave, the voice of Marion County football said on WEPG this morning. I don't know much, but I don't think you have a complaint about referees. Maybe you should compliment them for Marion County's first downs in the first half. What a great war! No scoring in the first quarter and great defense by both schools. There was a great battle in the trenches between #68 of MC and #79 of Whitwell. Both schools looked battered and worn afterwards. Both quarterbacks made mistakes but did good jobs of operating their teams. A game for the records and a great battle by both teams.

For the most part I agree with the poll, just a little different order. WOW! I never thought I would see the day that 8 man football would be discussed on a Tennessee message board. I was a head 8 man football coach in Idaho and loved it. There are actually more 8 man teams in Montana and Idaho than 11 man teams. As someone already mentioned, the game is the same. I alway explained 8 man as taking away the guards and a tackle. I mainly used a wing set. However, you see teams in an I and shotgun sets as well. We played 8 man in Idaho on a regulation 11 man field (1oo yards X 5o). I know in TN and AL 11 man plays on, I think, 8o X 4o.

Whitwell boys were very tired. Played Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri, and Sat. Whitwell played Marion Co. down to the wire Fri night.

Yeah, Tell that loud mouth Whitwell Coach to put a sock in it, I'm tired of his griping. Why dosn't he just coach instead of yelling. He obviously needs go work out and go work on his coaching ability.

Whitwell High SChool Changes on Schedule: Please remove the St. Andrews score on Dec 5, this was a B Team Game. Please remove the score from 1/17 at South Pitt. This game has not been played yet as it has been rescheduled for 2/10 at S. Pitt. One last item, the game with Marion County has been rescheduled from 2/7 to 2/15 at Marion County. Thank you.

Sequatchie works hard and hustles well. They might not be the most athletic team in the area. However, Coach Smith always has them ready to out hustle teams and thats what happened against City, Sequatchie just wanted it more. Indians, stick with basketball, your doing a good job! Besides, we haven't even mentioned how young of a team the Indians are.

I agree whole heartedly with Ceaser! Stop puting each other down. Don't talk about what did or did not happen at practice. Just get ready for Friday, strap em' on and play a great game.Walk the walk, everyone can talk, but not everyone can play High School Football friday Night. I agree with Condra. Whitwell played SC's varsity with their B team and the score was very respectful. I recall the SC coach doing some but chewing. Higdon kept Smith in check and Whitwell played defense like I have never seen. I feel that if Whitwell is going to do well that they must play defense and revamp that offense. That new coach better figure out how to score! Hey whitwell coach, how about running the flex? It works for the girls! :confused:

Indian, WAKE UP and SMELL the Coffee! Coaching was it! You said it yourself, evenly matched! They were! Except for coaching. It is coaching that prepares and gets players ready to perform. It is coaches who yell hurry up or calls a time out when players are confused at the 5 yard line. It was obvious that the QB was confused before the delay of game. It is coaching who calls for a trick play on 4th and 8 on your own 38! It is coaching that make defensive changes when a QB is running straight up your GUT every play!!! Make some CHANGES! Put 8 in the box, bring your safety up, or keep a nose in place. NOT COACHING? Get REAL!

Well, since everyone is voicing their opinion...You can NOT judge this weeks games by last weeks scrimmages last Friday Night! You can't! My gut feeling, is that Grundy will be ready to play! Grundy 28 SC 17.
