One Grizzly Fan: The Pigeon Forge vs. Cumberland Gap game scheduled for Jan. 29th was postponed and rescheduled to this Thursday, Feb 7th at Pigeon Forge. Critical week for Pigeon Forge with Cumberland Gap Thursday and Claiborne Friday.

Just a little statistic for you...(which I'm sure most of you won't care since it was not a district game)...but, Cocke Co shot 20 free throws as compared to Pigeon Forge's 1. I'm not exactly sure what they were from the line because I wasn't there, but looks like they would have been able to pull away shooting that many free throws and PF only shooting one. (Which was on a and-one) Not even sure exactly how that happens, must have had Perkins and some of those guys calling!

Would stay away from the Bramblett situation if at all possible.

I was at the game too. The refs did not cheat PF, and I usually pull for PF. They missed calls both ways, but that was no way the reason the lost. It came down to the slow start plus the inability to compete with AE on the boards. Please don't make all Pigeon Forge fans look like whinners with a statement like that. Again, congrats to both teams.

I was not referring to any certain instance but many. I have been around Coach Parkey for more than 6 years, and being in contact with many former players and parents, I do know that he was not respected or liked by the majority of them. And no, his actions in that one certain circumstance were not provoked but simply classless and initiated by him. The other party was the one not letting him or her self being disrespected. But we are never going to agree on this, so I will leave it at that. I'm done with this topic.

He was successful, I will give him that. However, he lacked class and also lacked respect from not only other coaches and players but even his own players. In my opinion, it took away a little bit from his accomplishments, especially late in his career. I think getting wins alone does not make you an outstanding coach, a coach is also a teacher and a role model and should also represent there school at all times in a positive manner, but that is just my opinion. But if you are going on wins alone, then yes, he was a VERY good coach.

Really one of the best coaches you have ever seen? Wow, that's a big statement. Either you are from Claiborne or you haven't seen many teams play.

You should have labeled this thread District 1AA, cause only one person has mentioned 1 player from District 2AA.

Pigeon Forge vs South Greene and Gatlinburg Pittman vs Elizabethton have both been reported with district 1AA coming away with victories in both games. Does anyone have results for the other games: Claiborne vs Happy Valley and Rutledge vs Unicoi County? Once we have the results, what are your opinions on the games to come?

LOL. It might have been poorly officiated, but on both sides. The officiating did not determine the outcome of the game, plain and simple. Get over it you lost move on, go cheer on your boys tonight, they have a great shot at winning a championship! Good Luck to the Pioneer Men tonight.

Let's hope not, if he did, then we all know that the coaches in the district are definitely just political. They already took the district tournament (being able to host it) away from Pigeon Forge, lets hope they didn't take an honor away from the most deserving player (Woodrick) just because they don't like Pigeon Forge.

The only poll that matters is the poll at the end of the year. Sure, it doesn't make sense that GP is ranked above Claiborne. GP doesn't have tradition. They have never really been that strong in girls basketball, they have never been to the state tournament and Claiborne has. However, the way Coach Rader is going, they could get there soon, he has turned that program around in a hurry. Claiborne and GP are both good teams, but I don't see either of them getting to the Boro. They have both played very weak schedules this year, especially GP, and that will hurt them come Region tournament and sub-state time. Also remember, Claiborne won the district title out right last year only to lose in the semi-finals. District 2AA was full of upsets last year with the 3 and 4 teams playing in both the district and region tournament. Look for teams like Rutledge, Pigeon Forge, and Cumberland Gap to make a good effort to spoil Claiborne and GPs championship hopes. Good Luck to all teams in the tournament, it should be a good one! I do not know about Elizabethton but Gatlinburg-Pittman is by no means dominating 2AA. That would have to be Claiborne, who is undefeated.

How did Rutledge only beat Union by 3?

Are we talking about the same Cody Dixon who is a sophomore at Pigeon Forge? Because I am VERY confused. I'm not trying to be mean or say he isn't good. But he gets ZERO minutes on the Pigeon Forge team, granted they are good, but still, if he's near one of the best in ET then he should at least be contributing a little bit. Please fill me in on if this is the same guy.
