Grad, I also whole-heartedly back Wingates decision. He lays it out at the beginning of each season and never varies from the rule. This is the second or third person in the last four years that this has happened to but they knew coming in that it would happen. One thing I respect and the players should also is, there are consequences for your actions, at school, at work, in life. If you screw up when you know the consequences, you should only be mad at yourself. Not at the person that enforces the rules.
One thing all players need to realize, this is a TEAM sport. One player does not make up a TEAM. As a member of a championship TEAM, you have to put your teams goals and objectives above personal satisfaction, especially when you know it has such consequences.
The last thing Wingate said after Saturday's game was, "Don't do anything stupid tonight at prom".
I think a valuable life lesson could be learned by this. Or at least I hope so.
