Lawrence Co got 13 hits to defeat Lewis Co 12-1 in 6 innings. Rob Augustin was the winning pitcher raising his record to 3-1. Augustin also doubled off the left field wall to help his cause. Steven Shults hit his 6th homerun and Ches Betz hit his 2nd homerun.

Franklin Co is certainly competitve in the district. They split with Lawrence Co and Columbia and lost in 10 innings to Coffee Co so they could have split with them also. Tullahoma and Coffee are 5-1 and 4-2. Franklin Co still has Tullahoma, Shelbyville and Lincoln Co on its schedule so they still have a shot especially if they sweep Tullahoma which would make the district race awfully tight. District 8AAA seems to be very competitve this year, especially when facing each team's 2nd pitcher. No team appears to be dominant offensively like Columbia was by tournament time last year. Of course that has a way of changing.

The 5-4 Lincoln victory was in Wednesday's game @ Lincoln on 3-31. Lawrence Co won Thursday's game 14-4 in 6 innings. Will McMasters was the winning pitcher for Lawrence Co. Kiadono took the loss for Lincoln. Lawrence Co had 11 hits in the game.

Starting time for Thursday is 6:00 @ Lawrenceburg.

Through 12 games, Shults has been doing great. He was the MVP of the Courrier Classic in Savannah. Current numbers are: .537 Avg, 5 doubles, 4 hrs, 18 rbis, .951 slugging %, .568 ob%. On the mound, he's pitched 11 innings, 11 k's, 0.00 era and 1-0 record. He's also been outstanding @ shortstop.

How will pool winners be determined? From looking @ the schedule, it looks like all games are outside of the listed pools. Is it records, runs scored, runs allowed?

I haven't seen CC play this year. However, when Morris pitches for Tullahoma, they will be very tough to beat.

Harpeth looked like a very solid club against Lawrence Co. They were very disciplined at the plate. 22 for Lawrence Co is Steven Shults, who won the Tournament MVP going 12-18 with 10 RBIs and a 7-0 complete game victory in the Championship game against Hardin Co.

Lawrence Co has 14 in 12 games.

I believe the official scorer had it as 2 Lawrence Co hits, although the 2nd hit was generous. Morris was very impressive and has 1 of the toughest breaking balls I've seen in a while. Tullahoma will definitely be hard to handle when Morris is on the mound.

Mt Pleasant beat Franklin Co in the finals and beat Lawrence Co.6-4. I don't know anything about the game, but somehow Lewis Co tied Mt Pleasant 3-3. Mt P won the Loretto tourney. These were 5 inning 1:45 Time limit games.

Mt Pleasant's 4 big seniors Tuten, Roberts, Holt and Scherrer have played lots of baseball together over the years and they are all top notch players. I suspect any of them would start for any high school team. Tuten seems to have put on several pounds of muscle and also seems to have picked up several mph on his fast ball. Mt Pleasant strikes me as the team to beat in 12A.

Lawrence Co opened with a 10-5 victory @ Savannah Tuesday. Brad Daniel hit a grand slam in the 1st and Stephen Shults a 2 run homer in the 6th. Wesley Wright was the winning pitcher with Ben Lowery in relief.
