  1. OK senator, who you hearing has got the job?
  2. Upperman won by 12. 'Held' Dunn to 20. The record will have to wait until another day.
  3. The Tennessean website has the score as Upperman 53 - York 52, I assume that is wrong?
  4. Anyone have any updates on how the Upperman/York game is going?
  5. 9 points in a half for Upperman? They probably haven't scored that few in one quarter this year much less a half. Whats going wrong?
  6. Anyone going to post updates to the Upperman/ Mt. Juliet game?
  7. The region was at Livingston two years ago. I guess none of the LA fans remember that?
  8. Pcbobcat, I do agree with you that 7a has sent more teams to the state tournament. However, is it obvious to see that 7aa has a lot tougher road. Before last year, a 7aa team had to beat a MLK Lipscomb, Hume Fogg or maybe even two of those teams just to make the substate game. After that they had to play one of the top teams out of Chattanooga, just don't see how you can compare the state appearances to the better district.
  9. No once again Devil you are wrong. The Region 4-AA games were supposed to played at Sparta, but due to Sparta girls advancing in the region they used their home court. And MLK and David Lipscomb(at the time both 8aa) were forced to play their championship game at Livingston.
  10. [ I do not see why you guys are constantly badmouthing 7aa. I believe over the past four years that Upperman has had as much success as possibly anyone in 8aa besides MLK. In the past four years, Upperman has won their first round game against an 8aa opponet 3 out of 4 times. And in 2002 beat 2 8aa opponets on their way to the state. Also, in the 2003 year they were beaten by another 7aa team in York in the region semis. I can see where you guys can say as a whole that 8aa has dominated 7aa, but I think Upperman deserves just a little credit..Good Luck to all teams tonight!
  11. Devil you're a good one to tell someone to get a life. As far as the District MVP goes, there is NO doubt that Wright is the best player in his district. He has the potential to be one of the better players to ever come through the Upper Cumberland. He contributes to his team in every aspect of the game, I don't think there is a doubt he is the best player in 7a. However, I'm sure the coaches will vote someone for the winning team as MVP which almost always happens.
  12. Devil... You need to get off of the fact of staying back. Your kids have the same opportunity to stay back as anyone else does. If you are going to make an arguement that staying back is wrong, then how are you going to explain moving is fair? Staying back obviously isnt that big of a deal this year, Pickett had no seniors and are still on the same level as the almight Clay Countians.
  13. Your right York doesnt have what it takes to beat a team like Upperman. The only chance they have is if Brandi beats Upperman. York has not been to good other than Brandi in quite some time.
  14. Come on guys, face it. Upperman is by far the better team. Upperman is more talented, deeper, and has better shooters.. There is a reason why Jackson County shot so poorly as well, the defense they are playing against had to do with that, and the fact that Jackson County(besides Dyer) is not a very good shooting team.
  15. These teams are playing tonight at White County, anyone know anything about either one of them or predictions?
  16. 1. Clay- got everyone back 2. Jackson- got everyone back, may surprise Clay 3. Pickett- they are Pickett County, they will find a way to win 4. Clarkrange- Laws and Snow carry the Buffaloes 5/6/7- Hermitage, Red Boiling, Monterey--- all not very good, may surprise a few teams

    7A/7AA

I cant help but think that Upperman will be down this year, they lost Asberry and Gilliam last year. However, Coach Mcwilliams always seems to have them near the top. 1. Dekalb- most everyone back 2. Livingston- cates and matthews lead the way 3. York- Good group of young players, surprise of the district 4. Macon- stinson leads they way 5. Upperman- good group of young players, but lost to much to be near the top 6. Smith- lost all 5 starters 7. Cannon-
  18. Is the region final still being played at Livingston?
  19. Williams led Coffee County with 25, Asberry led Upperman with 21.
  20. Mvp:Ledbetter 1st team Cates-LA West-LA Gilliam-UHS Asberry-UHS Randolph-DCHS
  21. With the district race winding down, it looks that Livingston will take the regular season title, barring another setback by the Bees. What is everyone's prediction of the tournament and the postseason awards?
  22. The Bees defeated the Owls in a wild one 58-51.Upperman trailed most of the game, but used a 22-7 final quarter rally to defeat the stingy Owls. Gilliam led the Bees with 23, and Asberry added 12(10 in the 4th), the Owls were led by #55 with 17 and Piper with 11. The Bees seem to be down from years past. The supporting cast around Gilliam and Asberry must step up for the Bees to claim there 4th straight title. Smith County looked very impressive using their quickness and pressure to hurt Upperman. Should be a balanced district with Livingston the favorite. 1.Livingston-(to many weapons for the rest of the district) 2. York-(Ledbetter leads a big dragon attack) 3.Upperman-(Gilliam and Asberry try to led the Bees to another title) 4. Dekalb- (The Tigers will pull a few upsets behing Coach Martin) 5.Smith-( play hard and will battle for one of the top 4 spots) 6 Cannon 7 Jackson
  23. Shawn I know you had a great squad last year, do you have the same kids coming back?
