  1. I'm not real sure why everyone is bashing Coach Holt, or how it started, but come on...Coach Holt is a great guy and a good coach. He does his thing, and let's his boys do their's. He did get a gold ball. So, he might not be the greatest coach of all time, but he does have more than many coaches have...a state championship. So, the Bobcats didn't win it this year. So, Tyler might be leaving...he might need to in order to open more doors...understandable for such a talented player. But does that give reason to bash a coach, a coach with a state championship mind you? I don't think so. But you guys are gonna do and say what you are gonna do and say, as do I. Some are gonna agree. Some will disagree. And that is the point, I guess. But now you know where sds2004 stands. She stands behind Giles Co. and Coach Holt. And for those of you who have read my other posts may find me hypocritical, but I'm not. The opinion I stated in my last post still holds true, but I still support my school. That is all.
  2. I will give Jackson Southside huge congratulations. Giles County can talk alot of smack before games, and they did this time and failed to deliver. The Bobcats are a great team, don't get me wrong, but they had an attitude that was out of this world. They thought that they were unstoppable. Well boys, you got stopped. They assumed that they would automatically go to state; and as my eighth grade algebra teacher told me, assuming does nothing but make an a** out of u and me. If the Bobcats had of played like they know how to play they would surely be on their way to state. They had a bad night, and a bad attitude. I hope that this knocked them down off of their high horse and next year they come into the season willing to work to get that gold ball back. They have had a taste of the gold now, and they will surely work hard to get it back. And to the senior Bobcats, good luck in whatever you do. I love you all and encourage you to not look back on this in grief, but look back and smile at all the good memories I'm sure you have. There is no harm meant in this post. So please, don't be upset with me. I am only stating my opinion, which is the point of a message board. That is all.
  3. gilesAGR, I'll give your post an AMEN. These girls had a great season, and they always seemed to play with alot of heart. It's a shame that they had an off night on such an important game, but they still make me proud to be from Giles Co. I will also say good luck to all the seniors as they go on, either to play ball or just study in college. And to the rest of you lady bobcats, focus on next year; I know yall will have another great season! Oh yeah, I talked to Robin today, and she was very scatched up, on her face especially...Cheatham Co. played very rough. I think that is uncalled for. Maybe the refs at their next game will call some of that stuff, I mean, really! That is all.
  4. She had 22 points, leading for Giles Co. Way to go Aljanise!
  5. Wneely, I was referring to the Lawrenceburg game at the beginning of the season, which you did not attend. As I stated previously, all this has been discussed in the girl's board. That is all.
  6. The issue of support for the Giles Co. Girls was brought up earlier in the season when just plain rude and unrespectful things were being said and done. It has, if you can believe it, gotten better. I don't complain, because it will get us into that argument again. You might could find that thread in the girl's board if you are interested. But otherwise...Let's don't get started on that again.
  7. Giles County will definately have a huge victory over Loretto tomorrow night. From what I hear Wes Carter is even planning on some dunk action of his own. So watch out!
  8. Amen daisyduke...you hit the nail on the head! These guys do their job. They win. And obviously Coach Holt knows what he is doin' since, you know, the Giles County Bobcats are state champs. Y'all just keep on keepin' on guys.
  9. Congrats to the girls! I wasn't able to attend the game but heard that they had won. If anyone has any particulars on this one fill me in. I feel that this is a huge victory. Again...congratulations lady cats.
  10. No, wneeley, I'm not saying that we should do that. I believe orginally, I said we should give the girl's respect...i.e. not pushing them out of the way to line up for the boys, and not chanting "one more minute" while they were still playing. That was quite a while ago now, at the Lawrence County game, which I don't think you attended, so the original post wasn't aimed toward you. And since then, I haven't heard any of the girls complaining about these things, so obviously they have gotten better. Also, as the girls are winning more games, more people seem to be cheering and clapping. So for the last time, I consider this case closed!
  11. Have no fear sds2004 is still here. My computer has been down willyp, so I obviously havent been able to post. Anyway, I agree with you on this one. This win was huge, and maybe it will get some people's attention. I also agree with you saying that Coach Hannah and Parker should stop playing favorites. Don't get me wrong every now and then, you get a good game, but usually it is when he subs in...that is when the heat is turned on. I hope Coach Hannah gets all his ducks in a row before tourney time, because we all know that will be the real test. I think the girls can bring home the gold ball...they have enough talent anyway. Just gotta play hard, with that good ole giles county determination.
  12. Tcross, I am so glad that you were there to lead the cheers for the girls. I was not able to attend the game, because I was out of town. But, I was there in spirit. LOL. Anyway, I plan to attend the game on friday, and I hope that the girls (and guys) can pull off big wins against Father Ryan. Fan Support is great for them. Several of the players have commented to me that they love to see and hear the cheers...but who wouldn't. Way to go Lady Cats!
  13. I would say that Coach Hannah is doing a good job so far. I think he just needs to find the right combo of players to pull off wins like we want to see. The biggest difference between him and Mayfield that I have noticed is that he doesn't start the same five girls every game, and that the same five girls don't play the whole entire game. He seems to be giving most of them a chance to prove themselves, and he is also pulling girls off the bench more often than Mayfield ever did. I think as the year progresses, and the girls get used to him and he gets used to the girls, we will begin to see major victories. Hopefully, this year we will have two gold balls to display.
  14. Wurd Up, didnt d_may say no haters...And that sounds like what you are...so why did you even post? I mean, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
  15. no way man, d may got that killa water...high quality h2o!
  16. Okay Willyp, I know that your last post was directed to jnt79, but i thought that my last post would end all this. As I stated previously, we all know how everyone else feels. Have enough respect for each other to let them have their own opinion...even if it is different from yours. Now, I started all this crap; so I'm gonna end it. Again, we all know how one another feels about this topic. THAT IS ALL!
  17. GCHS05: Okay, here we go again. And I hope after this it will be dropped forever. The "girl in the stands" was not talking to you at all now was she, I think she was talking to willyp. You see we can have a civiled conversation about this without getting mad at each other; but now, you are just ###### me off. The fans stood up for the 1st quarter, and during overtime. That is all...that is not the majority of the game. I have friends who play on the team, and I know for a fact that they love student support and to see everyone, or just one student, standing. In no way was this "girl in the stands" blaming the fans, I think she was merely saying that "support goes a long way." In fact, weren't those her exact words. Come on man.... And pageman: You just keep on keepin on! I really appreciate your support of our girls and all the hard work you do.
  18. Willyp is right in some aspects, I'll give him that. But the respect issue obviously did need addressing. At the game against LCHS, there was no respect shown to the girls. This is all I am saying. I haven't heard anyone chanting "One more minute." So, maybe everyone realized that it could be taken wrong by the girls. I don't know. All I know is that we have all said what needs to be said, and we all have our own opinions, and I think we should all have enough respect for each other to stop all this arguing...back and forth, back and forth. No one seems to agree. So I believe that this case is closed. Everyone knows how everyone else feels. So, for the last time, THAT IS ALL!
  19. WILLYP, WILLYP! Well, I don't feel like I deserve criticism for supporting my high school girl's basketball team. I said in an earlier post that I admittedly support the guys more than the girls, so how do you get off bashing me. I know that daisyduke shouldn't said what she said. But she did. You shouldn't aim these comments towards me because of her. And as far as all those calling me a "hater" in lunch today (#10) get your user names straight. I am a die hard Bobcat fan, both for the girls and boys. And I am sure many will testify to this. And to you GCHS05, I will scream for the girls with you tomorrow night. So you won't be alone. That is all!
  20. Well, I am proud to say that our Lady Bobcats played a GREAT game last night against the Spring Hill Raiders, with Taylor Wade sealing the deal with her foul shot. And most importantly, our fans supported them, and also showed them the respect that these girls deserve. So, maybe these posts have done their job. And I hope the support continues. It can now be seen that support along with talent and great coaching helps to win games. CONGRATS GIRLS!
  21. THIS TEAM IS COMPLETE! Sure the loss of Tristan and Eric is great. But come on there is more to this team than Shay and Tyler. There are many great players, and a very deep bench this year. Just wait and see as the season progresses, they will get their act together and PROVE YOU WRONG!
  22. I was there GCHS2005 and know exactly what you are talking about, but I just thought I would point out that the board seemed to disappear when they started losing the game...but were they ever winning? Not real sure, but I don't think so. And it is a shame for such a good board to be wasted on a AAA team that can't even beat a AA school. And I really like how some of the LCHS fans thought they would just point at the GCHS fans for no particular reason, I mean that was real creative. And about our gyms, Lawrence County has a very nice gym, but come on, have you seen our floor...I mean WOW!
  23. In no way am I bashing the students; I AM A STUDENT who admittedly gets more hyped for the guys than the girls, for all the reasons you stated meanjeanjr. All I am saying with this post is that the girls deserve respect. I don't expect the students to cheer as much for the girls as they do for the guys, but they should show some respect...i.e. not pushing them out of the way. That is all.
  24. Thanks for your support Pageman. I am sure if any of the lady bobcats read this they will appreciate it. And I just hope that some of my fellow classmates at GCHS see these posts and realize how much it would mean to the girls if they had a little support. Oh yeah, just wondering if you are at student at Page?
  25. I believe any fan who attended the Lawrence County game needs to check out the girls' basketball board. Especially if you were there during the girls' game.
