  1. Any thoughts on the new hire? Who have they interviewed?
  2. Little cocky, aren't you Icy. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  3. R Johnson wasn't on last night according to the Jackson Sun (5-15 F.G.) and they still beat Haywood. I don't know what this means other than they are more than just Ron Johnson. They have other kids that can play too.
  4. Good job to the Rebels and to Coach Kail. Obion has a good one in Coach Kail. Good luck next year. The Rebels should compete in the top 4 or so in 13 AA next season with Westview and Crockett Co. losing so many players.
  5. What determines the tie breaker if Dyer Co. gets beat by Westview and Crockett beats Obion? How does that district do the tie-breaker?
  6. I think Milan is in 6th place. They are much better than your typical 6th place team. Dyer Co. must win at Westview Tuesday night or the district championship goes to Crockett Co., I think. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
  7. Not once did I defend what Gardner did. I don't know what he did or didn't do. That is none of my business. I will not comment on anything regarding that because I simply do not know what happened, plus a message board is not the place to talk negatively about someone, especially players, administrators, coaches, etc... What I do know is you criticize way tooooooo much. The times I saw his teams play, I thought they played very well. I mean come on, Lexington has had good players the past few years but nowhere near the talent of Bolivar, Liberty, South Side, etc... Give everyone a break with the "state tournament" potential. Lexington has had good high school teams the past couple of years and maybe if they were in a different region they maybe, just maybe, could have gotten to Murfreesboro. I wish the Tigers nothing but luck in the future.
  8. Hackashaq, Just SHUT UP!!! Obviously, Gardner must have held your son, brother, boyfriend, whatever... back from a big-time D-I scholarship. Go back under the rock you climbed out from under and spare the rest of us your comments.
  9. That's a pretty big accusation to call Coach Froedden a thief. Some might say even mean. I know that his coaching style (in games) may not be favorable to you but that is his personality. He is an intense, in your face, coach. McCord's is different. The only time he gets up to yell, or for that matter say anything, is to complain about the officiating. But, his style has been effective. The Dyer Co. bunch is playing well. Some might go ahead and crown them Region 7AA champs. Obviously, it is theirs to lose. They have the talent to go all the way. They are deep and athletic. They have all the tools. Their only weakness is a lack of true post play. If a team can handle their pressure, make them defend for more than 5 passes in the half-court and stop their transition offense then they have a chance to beat them. I'm not saying that an opponent of Dyer Co. can win, but if they do these three things, they might have a chance. But let's be realistic, Dyer Co. is probably just too good for everyone else. Good luck to the Choctaws and everyone else the rest of the way out. Hope that all injuries heal up and the flu doesn't spread any farther than it has already. Should be an exciting month ahead. By the way, I was just wondering if Kimble was one of the players D'burg. let get away. Why are you so defensive?
  10. Thanks for setting me straight. I humbly ask for your forgiveness.
  11. Wow, it is amazing what a little winning does. Coach Froedden did an excellent job at DC preparing his YOUNG teams and developing their fundamentals. McCord walked into a great situation. Taking nothing away from him, but everyone needs to understand Froedden would be having the same success if he was at Dyer Co. The only player that would not be there would be Jeremy Kimble. By the way, where did he come from? Did he transfer from D-burg too? DC fans need to keep on talking however. You are giving Haywood, Fayette-Ware, Covington, Crockett Co, and Westview lots of motivation.
  12. According to who??? Next time, post an "in my opinion".
  13. You are right. There is no such thing as a "pivot" on deadball out of bounds. You are right about the 3 ft. rule.
  14. Crockett played a 2-3 trap on the first possession of the 3rd quarter and that was it. One possession, the rest of the game was man to man. I guess with all of their running and trapping in the full court you must have gotten confused.
  15. Crockett played man to man all night long. They pressed Humboldt all over the court. I guess they were trying to wear them down. They must have. Humboldt led the entire game and was up 10 to start the 4th quarter but fatigued got the best of them. Humboldt is HUGE. Crockett is not. Perry is their tallest player at 6'2". Althought Humboldt won on the boards by at least 10-12 rebs., Crockett forced the tempo and turnovers which proved to be the difference. Crockett shot awful as well. I bet they didn't shoot 25% from the 3 pt. line and they were taking good shots. Lots of penetration and kicks, as well as beating Humboldt down the court and shooting transition 3's. Very exciting contrast of styles.
