  1. I don't know for sure, but I was told that a new d-coordinator was hired by clinton from a small school in western TN.
  2. The best of facilities won't pay the bills. Maybe the new coach will have a sugar momma to take care of the finances.
  3. Will clinton scrimmage anyone this spring?
  4. Maybe that will change with the governors' new plan. I heard on the news that the plan to even out teacher salaries across the state has passed the house, and is up for debate in the state senate. This would potentially make the average teacher salery around $37,000.
  5. any news from maynardville? just thought with this being a new week and all that someone may have heard something. Why has union co. been dragging their feet on this? That only hurts the over-all program.
  6. Read a different post if you don't like it.
  7. Are you trying to tell me that a coach, and two two-way starters transfer from one school to go to another in their region, and there's no controversy? Go over to central and see what they say about it.
  8. Any names leaked out of possible hires?
  9. Who are the candidates for this job? It sounds like whoever gets the job will face an up-hill battle getting a late start and all.
  10. alcoa won several, south-doyle didn't win a game. I'd say that will change for s-d this season.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I doubt there's been a 4.5 guy at Halls in the history of the school. I've heard that coach shepherd electronically times his 40's. If you played your senior year, what did the electronic timer say?
  12. don't wait for the tssaa to investigate. They don't investigate anything else involving recruiting, why would they start here?
  13. Newman I heard that "coach" was only interested in one exercise in the weight room--> the bench (must have been something he learned in high school) I bet that if this dude ever tried to do a squat, he would end up on the bathroom floor of the gym and ultimately in the hospital. I'm suprised you can spell "squat". 'Cause that's about how much you know about this subject.
  14. Is it so wrong to ask questions about a program? When carter won one game in three years everyone was questioning the WR coach about what could be done to turn the program around. He had no answers and the head coach resigned. What can you do?
  15. Be careful playcall. If you question certain things then your thread will be locked up. Make sure you don't mention the "M" word or you'll be kicked off of coacht forever. In other news, I don't think gibbs will move up to 4A in '05(maybe '07). However, they have yet to be competetive in many years. On the other hand, It seems unlikely that coach caroll is going to resign or he would have done it by now. Any news on South-Doyle, Clinton, Heritage, or William Blount?
  16. This makes no sense. Jim Davis had the job from Oct. through the end of the season.
  17. I'm sure Rankin, Sparks, and Phulmer are head coach material too, but they did not apply. Gaylor is out of the mix, so what makes Shattuck and Ingle such good candidates. Neither have been head coaches in the past.
  18. What about Tony Shultz? I heard he was given an award for assistant coach of the year in some big county around Atlanta. He's a clinton alum too.
  19. Funny you should mention Coach Gaylor. There are very persistant rumors coming from clinton that say he has applied for the job. I've heard that from more than one source, but then again it's just a rumor. Or is it? There was supposed to be a list of all the applicants printed in the "Clinton Courier" sometime, has anyone seen that?
  20. The rumor is that coach carroll was allowed to finish this season provided he resigned when it was over. Apparently, there is little truth to this rumor.
  21. speaking of a weak strength program, I heard that the strength coach at Halls has renounced power-cleans, squats, and bench presses and has the team doing jazzercise this winter. Rumor has it, this wierdo is so passionate about this new workout, that he's asked the head coach to issue leg warmers.
  22. does anyone know if he's even applied for the job? Rumor has it that he's wanted out in gibbs.
  23. maryville has run the same general offense since 1997. Have they adapted to their players? Not likely. It's more that their players have adapted to fit that offense. Halls had 2 or 3 players who could run below a 5.0 forty (and none of them were named Largent or Montana). How do you open things up like this?
  24. kenny, the special teams may get you beat. But the kicker will not. He may miss a field goal or extra point that doesn't win the game, but they don't miss TD passes, they don' fumble, they don't miss tackles or blow their coverage in the secondary. If the game comes down to a kick to win, then it's not the kickers fault. Again, the kicker may not win the game for you, but they sure don't lose it. If you think otherwise, then you're just looking for excuses.
  25. I'm sure this kid feels great knowing that you're pinning losses on him. A kicker has never lost a football game. He may not win it for you, but never does a kicker(who is on the field for less than 10 plays) lose the game.
