  1. I wish that everyone would step off of their own little soap box for a minute and actually look at what is fair to both teams. The 50/50 split is very fair. If the tickets aren't all sold at SS then they have to be back in GC by 5p.m. monday. So really we are getting the advantage guys. Oh yeah and home court advantage is not allowing the home team more tickets, it is having the comfort of playing in your own house. Think of how you would feel if SS was hosting the game(if some if you have enough imagination to go that far) and we were only allowed 30% of the tickets to purchase here. I now that a lot of you would be whining to all extremes if that happened. You know how big of a crowd GC can bring so don't underestimate how big of a crowd any other school can bring. I mean this is substate. Not just a regular game. I understand that some people weren't able to be at the school today to get their tickets but you more than likely have another chance to get a ticket monday so stop crying and look at the opportunity that has just been handed to you, and please quit making all of us Giles County fans look like a bunch of whining idiots. I am from Giles County and try to understand what some of the fans are saying but sometimes you just need to zip it and go on. Stuff like this happens and you can't do anything about it and your pathetic whining isn't going to help anything. And I hope that all of the players parents and relatives got tickets. I would rather them have them before the students have them. And I'm a student. I admit that the guys will need the student section to be there to support them but they also need their biggest supporters. Their parents! You guys have been there for your kids since they've been able to dribble the ball. Oh yeah, to the Bolivar cheerleader or fan, I'm sorry how our administration acted last year. I'm sure that you weren't treated the way you should have been. Some people just don't have a heart. Good luck in your game monday. Truthfully you guys should have no problem winning. Just shut down the three ball on those guys. And good luck if you play us again. It'll probably be another heartbreaker for you guys. Good luck to the GC guys. I'll be there cheering you on with the rest of our "crazy town". Lol. Get some rest guys. You're going to need it.
  2. Another girl to add to the list is Robin Leslie from Giles County. She was told on senior night(2/13/04) that she had 1, 041 and she's still going strong. This is a great accomplishment to all of those that have achieved this goal. Good job and keep up the good work.
  3. I would like to contribute to this post also. When Giles county played Page...i think...they showed a pretty big picture in the paper the next day but had no score to be found on any page and identified the giles county player as someone else. What's happening to them?
  4. Congrats to the Lady Bobcats! This was a great game! The Lady Cats came out and played they way they know how to. They showed a lot of teamwork and that's what wins championships. The game that they lost to Lewis Co. was just the girls having a terrible night. They couldn't hit anything that night, but they came out last night and showed everyone that they are for real the best team in the district and have the heart to go all the way. They know how to win when it really matters. Good luck with lorretto tomorrow night. Third time's a charm. LADY CATS ALL THE WAY!!!
  5. I think that GC did a great job last night. They played as a team and everyone did their part. Great job to Tyler on the treys. You didn't have to prove that to anyone but you did. Now people can shut their mouths. Good job to Wes too. You had the dunk until the guy hit you . You'll get it next time! No doubt. Great job to the rest of the team. You lit MC up last night!!!
  6. Pumpitup you seriously need to change your name. I guess that you're a little sore about MC getting beat by the players on the court and by the STUDENT SECTION. Our student section did an awesome job last night. They stood up and cheered for both the girls and boys, and obviously got into some of the MC players heads. Don't hate b/c the MC fans didn't support the teams the way the GC student section did. There was nothing wrong with the comments they made. If there were, our pricipal would have got them for it. She was sitting on the front row watching them like a hawk. I would like to give credit to the guy from MC who dunked last night. Not many people get a chance to dunk on GC. Good job! As for GC players. Good job to all of you. You showed a lot of teamwork out there last night. Everything flowed and everyone stepped up and did their part. That's what's going to get us back to state again. Keep up the good work guys. You too student section! Without any fans...why play?
  7. Guys this is beginning to get out of hand. If you continue to get on here and bash the coaches and players like this there is no telling how the season may end up. Coach Holt is a good coach and has lots of talent on his team. He just needs to discipline the guys a little more and make them listen to him. All coaches know what they are doing or they wouldn't be out there. Who wants to make a fool out of themselves?...that's right...nobody. So give him a break. As for who starts that shouldn't matter a bit. I know coaches who have started some of their second and third string just to knock around the other team and lay some hard fouls on them just to get them mad and out of sync. Then he would send in the five players he wanted and let them get to work on them. As for height and speed. If you have a height advantage over a team you may want to send in all tall players...if you have your speed as an advantage you may want to send in some of your quickest players. So don't fuss at the coach for who he starts. It's who gets the job done during the game that matters and even more who WINS. I don't think at then end of the game you're going to be saying...well we won b/c we started such and such. There's a whole 32 mins to play and the tip off only lasts a few brief seconds. By the way, "bird" your comment was very much appreciated by me. You're right maybe Channing does play better off the bench. There are many players out there like that. As for the people who are jumping on Zach's back...lay off. The team doesn't sit there and say "well i'm better than you so i should be starting over you"...if they did that there would be no team. They just want to win. Everyone has their off nights so don't critique that person just b/c of one bad night. Show the guys a little support and respect and i'm sure they'll give you a great game...NO MATTER WHO'S STARTING.
  8. WillyP, I didn't mean for my statement about the guys to get everyone's panties in a bunch but obviously it did. I'm sorry that I said what I did and want to apologize to anyone, especially the guys team, if I offended them in any way. My deal with saying that though was that the guys game wasn't anymore interesting than the girls game was that night b/c of the missed dunks. And I do realize that the girls lost, so don't go on here bashing the girls now. But the guys really made up for their not so spectacular performance in their next game against SH and I'm proud of them. They looked how they are supposed to. Like a bunch of State Champions competeting for the title again. I fully support the guys and absolutely love to watch them play. I also would pick to watch the guys play over the girls, b/c their game is more exciting. But, I'm not gonna sit here and let the girls team get no respect b/c they didn't go to state last year. That has nothing to do with it. This is a brand new year and the girls have a brand new coach. Give them a chance, and a little support, and the fans may be finding themselves up in the stands at two state tournaments this year which would be so awesome in my opinion. But of course that's my opinion. This is daisyduke, signing out, and my case is closed.
  9. I'm glad to see that someone has the guts to stand up for the Lady Bobcats. It seems like everyone else is scared to b/c they are afraid if they do support the girls, like they do the guys, then they would be considered uncool. As most of you out there may or may not have realized, the opposing teams' fans actually cheer just as much for their girls as they do for their guys. I can understand that the guys game can be more exciting than the girls b/c of their capabilities to dunk but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't give the girls team the respect they deserve. And I'm sure they're not going to come out next game dunking just to get it either. They have worked just as hard as anyone to prepare for this season and from what I know they practice twice a day. After every game the girls play they come out and give the guys so much support. In my opinion last year many of the guys games were won due to the support of the fans. Don't you think that maybe the girls could have won the other night with our support. They weren't down by much and it only takes a little positive encouragement to get a teams adrenaline pumping. I'm also very disappointed with the students b/c when the girls were still playing you guys were yelling "one minute left." I looked down at the girls team and saw tears in some of their eyes b/c of the way you were treating them. And then you have the nerve to rush the floor practically hitting every ball player just to form a spirit line for the guys to run out through. In my eyes the student section needs to improve on their school spirit and their respect for the girls team.
