  1. Okay, so Milan fans have no class. How many posters here on coacht do you see saying they've got all the respect for the team they're playing. I can tell you that pretty much every poster from Milan on this board is respectful, and knows how to show class. And as far as me "belittling" the other kids on Peabody...that wasn't the point I was tryin to get across. I just simply meant that all I ever hear about on these boards when it comes to Peabody is Kendall Harper this, Kendall Harper that. I know there are 11 players on the field for each team, but when Peabody fans make it sound as if there's only 1 that matters, that's what gets me. I'm not sayin you guys over in Trenton have a bad team, because if yall did, you wouldn't be where yall are now. Peabody made it to the 2nd round of the 2A playoffs, and had to beat a darn good WV team to get there. And for that, I give the Golden Tide props /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> And as for us not being "gracious in defeat, as well as victory", that's bull!! When we win, we show respect to our opponent, just as if we're beat. For example, look at the JCS/Milan thread from last week and see for yourself the respect and class shown by our fans. And read the posts about our coaches and players showing great sportsmanship and class throughout the game, and after the game was over. Now, about us being "arogant" (which is spelled "arrogant", with 2 "r's")...we're not. We're confident in our program, players, and coaches. There's a huge difference in being arrogant and being confident. Remember that bud /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Okay, now that that's over...I will once again say good luck to both the Milan Bulldogs and Peabody Golden Tide this week. GOD BLESS!!
  2. Justin Coleman at Milan will be a quarterback to look out for. At 6'3, 220 he's got a strong, accurate arm and is a powerful runner as well. He will be a huge threat for all opponents next season.
  3. First you talk about Milan and Huntingdon both being classless teams, then you wanna talk about us makin excuses for losing (when we lose), which isn't often. And now you're tellin us to get ready for basketball. Wow, you're definitely a class act my friend. You might just win the award for having the most class on coacht. See, you're just a little too cocky, and why...I have no clue. I mean, just what does Peabody have to be so cocky about?? Oh, so you made it to the 2nd round in the playoffs, congratulations!! However, see...this is nothing new to us "classless" folks in Milan. I'm pretty sure we've made it past the 2nd round quite a few times in the past few years /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> And you guys have had what, a couple good seasons in the past?? Wow, that's something to prance around about. See, the Peabody Golden Tide still has to beat GW Carver this week. Although you guys will most likely win, don't be too overconfident...cuz it'll get ya everytime. Just ask Westview (no offense WV fans, you guys had a great team this year). But they were beat by an underdog Milan team in week 10, and then sent home by you guys who were also underdogs. Now if Peabody does get by GW Carver, and Milan gets past Huntingdon then we'll see who the better TEAM (notice the all caps /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> ) is. And the reason I put "team" in all caps is because that's what we, in Milan, have. See, we don't have just one key player that carries our team and who is relied on, like Kendall Harper. Rather, we have a whole team full of playmakers. Coleman, Gilbert, Moore, Hansen, Williams, and Bledsoe are just a few...and trust me, there's many more where that came from. And like I said, if we get past Huntingdon and yall past Carver...then Peabody will find out that Milan isn't the same team yall faced earlier in the season. But as for now, just focus on this week my friend. Good luck to Milan this week, as well as Peabody /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> GOD BLESS!!
  4. I gotta pull for the Camden Lions in this game. I've heard alot about how good GP is, but this is 2A football and anything can happen. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Camden upsets GP in this one. Good luck and GOD BLESS!!
  5. Dude, seriously you're an idiot. You wanna bring up "that little stunt last year"...Why do you think a program with the likes of Milan would want to cheat?? I mean, we've won 4 gold balls and have been to the playoffs like 20 something years in a row!! So are you saying to become the powerhouse 2A team we are, that we've cheated all these years?? Come on man, grow up!! Oh, and about "that little stunt last year".....after that was all said and over, how did Milan's season end up?? Oh yeah, we made it to the semi's, only to be beat by a good Goodpasture team. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  6. Camden will win this game by as much as they want. They're just too good for the Jackets /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  7. Thanks for appreciating my work, haha!! I too wish we could go back and start over...
  8. Volsken, the JCS Eagles definitely have the respect of the Bulldogs. And I'm pretty confident in saying you guys have earned 8-2As respect as well. You showed that you could hang with some good teams, and you finished out the year with a good record...and you made the playoffs!!! Not too shabby if I might say /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> And I'll be honest with you, hearing about the first game against you guys, it kinda worries me that we got yall the first round. You guys seem like a scrappy football team. Anyways, I'll be cheering for my Milan Bulldogs from down here in Guam, but it will definitely be a good game between two fine programs. Here's to starting the playoffs!!! GOD BLESS!!
  9. I just took another look at the 2A playoff brackett. I too am wondering how TSSAA put this together. Many teams from the same regions are playing each other, so I took the liberty to make out my own bracket based on records and region placement (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc) Anyways, this is what I come up with... QUAD 1 1 Alcoa (9-1) 8 Happy Valley (4-6) 4 CAK (8-2) 5 Loudon (8-2) 3 Cumberland Gap (9-1) 6 Rockwood (6-4) 2 Gatlinburg Pittman (9-1) 7 Sweetwater (5-5) QUAD 2 1 York (10-0) 8 Bledsoe Co. (4-6) 4 Tyner (6-4) 5 Westmoreland (6-4) 3 Smith Co. (9-1) 6 Marion Co. (5-5) 2 DCA (9-1) 7 Boyd Buchanon (4-6) QUAD 3 1 Lewis Co. (10-0) 8 Fairview (4-6) 4 Camden (7-3) 5 Stewart Co. (7-3) 3 Hickman Co. (9-1) 6 CPA (6-4) 2 Goodpasture (9-1) 7 Richland (4-6) QUAD 4 1 Milan (9-1) 8 Booker T. Washington (3-7) 4 Peabody (7-3) 5 JCS (7-3) 3 Huntingdon (7-3) 6 Carver (4-6) 2 Westview (9-1) 7 Westwood (3-7) See I think this would be a better and more fair bracket than what we have now...
  10. Chargermonkey, can you give me some details on the game?? Was it played well by both teams, or where there alot of mistakes??
  11. Thanks for the updates!! Keep em comin if you could /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> BoredGuy, are you from Milan??
  12. Can anyone provide me with some updates on the game?? Would be greatly appreciated, thanks /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> GOD BLESS
  13. You know, it's nice to see all the bashing of each others teams go away and the classy posts come out. This is what high school football is about right here...2 of the top 2A programs in Tennessee playing for the region championship. It's gonna be a barn burner for sure, but I'm gonna take my Bulldogs in a close one. I'm gonna say 24-21 in favor of Milan!! Gonna come down to the better kicker /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  14. Thanks for your classy post, utvol. Just a few more months, and I'll be back in the states...and hopefully next year I'll be able to see my Bulldawgs play a couple games.
  15. You're right...and I feel dumb now /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  16. I agree 12yr.oldchamps, "OUCH"... But it's okay Chevy, because even though we had to forfeit those 4 games, didn't we still do well in the end...yeah, I believe we did. If I am remembering this right, we had to win out our last 6 games to qualify for the playoffs. And what did the Bulldogs do?? Oh yeah, they overcame adversity and won the last 6 regular season games to go to the playoffs.....AGAIN!!!!! And, yeah...we made it to the semis to play a very good Goodpasture team, who we almost beat and probably should've beat. And where were you guys?? Oh, that's right...sitting at home, wishing you could be where the Dogs were. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  17. Yes, that year we were loaded. We had Kelton Roberson as our starting RB, and his younger brother Doc played WR and CB. And I want to say that #34 was Victor Kidd...I do remember him playing running back, and I know his defensive position was FS. And #10 was Harris Jones. He was an excellent QB...good size, good strenght, and a great arm. He also had good QB vision and awarness, as well as excellent pocket presence. But sadly he was diagnosed with leukemia, and was put in the hospital. But today he is doin much better. I remember when he got sick, Matt Simms became the starting QB, and boy could he play some football. He led Milan to 2 state championships, back to back...98 we won the 2A state title against a very good David Lipscomb team, and in 99 we moved to 3A going 15-0 to win the 3A title against a great Portland team. Now that was a game to see...
  18. George Kidd was a great player for Milan and for Tennessee. But you can't forget about his younger brother, Victor. Victor was a standout player for the Bulldogs as well...
  19. I really don't even know how to respond to that. I guess the only thing I can say is thanks for your kindness and support. I should be returning stateside around February/March.
  20. You ask if I will understand, and say "probably you won't"...I'm not just another opinionated fan who thinks just one way. I asked simply because I was curious. I don't know much about the Westview football program other than they have a good one. I know the past few years it hasn't been as strong as it was in 01, but regardless, you guys have built a strong program over there. And I don't know about your tradition, so thanks for explaining the last 6 years; although, I know about the last 6 years. I've been to every Milan/Westview game since 01, with the exception of last year seeing as I haven't been in the states for over a year now. But that's besides the point. And what yall did before returning to 2A, I don't really know. Never really knew too much about Westview till yall handed us our butts in 01. But in all fairness, I wasn't tryin to offend anyone by asking that question...I was simply curious. Good luck to both teams come Friday night, but bein from Milan...I will be pulling for them, just as you will be pullin for your Chargers!! God Bless!!
  21. I'm sorry, but exactly what tradition does Westview have?? Is it anything like the tradition that Milan has built?? Just curious...
  22. This is definitely the best post I've ever seen on CoachT. You and your son both sound like stand up guys, and for that I commend you!! I'm from Milan, so I know all about Humboldt and their sports. I grew up playing baseball, so I've played against Humboldt all star teams since I was 4. Then moved on to high school and continued to play them. And I have to say, even though we are huge rivals, it was always fun to play a team like Humboldt. They always did show alot of sportsmanship to us, and that's greatly appreciated. I too, like several others, have read this thread and your post over and over. This has touched me more than you'll ever know. For a dad to be so supportive and so strong for his son and with his son through everything in life, says alot. My dad has been there for me since day one. I'm now in the military and stationed overseas in Guam, and he is still my inspiration to do well in life. With your son only being a senior, he still has so much growing to do...and with that growing will come more appreciation for what you've done as a father. You have my respect, and have made a new friend in me also. I hope that when I get to come home from being here that I can meet you face to face and shake your hand on a job well done. May God bless you and your son, Matt. -MilanDog9
  23. Haha, that'd be nice... And I can't wait to get back to the states!! I actually get to come back home in February/March, and then off to my next duty station after that. But anyways, you're a class act man!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
