I will apologize for those girls, for they may not even know how to. Thats a shame, obviously those girls have a problem, maybe they will grow out of it soon. That type of attitude reflects poorly on their upbringing. Both Beech ( slur throwing ) and Antioch ( rock throwers ) have low class students amongst them as well. So this problem is not unique to White House. Couldn't figure that "onside" kick either, I don't think it was intentional. White House kicking game hasn't been the same since the Josh Barton and Clint Ruth days.

This game was over in the 1st quarter! Greenbrier had trouble all night with receiving the kickoffs. Go BDP!

One of the handballs occurred when the girl actually slapped the ball away from the post, chest high! But it wasn't intentional according to the "official". Yes it was a high school game and these were forearms to the back along with tripping. It was absolutely incredible! At no time did Greenbrier make contact with the ball, hmph they weren't even trying too! It was a very poorly officiated game. I guess I will start taking my camcorder to the games, and report these rascals! [Edited by APhool on 9-24-02 9:51P]

I thought that I had finally understood the rules of soccer, until today. Three handballs inside the box plus two handballs outside the box no longer constitutes a penalty kick nor free kicks, provided that the handball was not intentional! The use of ones posterior and hands above the waist is now acceptable to move/block an opponent! At the end of a 1 to 1 tie the Greenbrier coach made it a point to shake the refs' hand. I think he owes them a lot more than a simple handshake! They should be ashamed of themselves. [Edited by APhool on 9-24-02 7:52P]

I think I saw this boy at the Rivergate Walmart over the weekend. He's skinny, was wearing a sycamore wareagle t-shirt and was walking around with a look of disgust. Must have been his way of trying to look big and bad! Heheheh, it didn't work. This will be a very good game, this could be Greenbriers' year. They may even win a region title! There was some type of controversy concerning 5 or so players. I've heard two stories: 1. These 5 players didn't want to practice and still play. or 2. Some booster dad pressured to have his son start over the more experienced player.

My nephew was on the team from '96 - '99, #56. I'm a '77 alumni, did not play but wished I had. That's the year WH moved up to double A. Went from a 12-1 state runner in single A to a 1-9 in double A. It's a real shame how the school has been split by the Robertson/Sumner county issue. It would've been cheaper for Sumner to have annexed several square miles of Robertson instead of building a new school!

I was there, lots of room in the stands tonight. #27 is a pretty good back for WH and he is just a freshman. He also scored all the TDs in the WH / Sycamore JV game Thursday night. Well at least the football team didn't postpone their game! Real teams don't worry about a little rain!

Same here, but then again the game had no region impact and no rivalry either. It was a win-win situation for both teams. The obvious win for White House, and by the grace of the Blue Devils, a "feel good win" for the home team by keeping the score close and exciting! It sure is hard work being this good!

Wow, check out who Sonny says is #1 in 3A after a 21 point loss! :confused: If they lose to York this Friday, Sonny may just go ahead and award them the BCBS trophy outright! Give his system 3 or 4 more weeks and the ratings should be more accurate. [Edited by APhool on 9-4-02 9:28P]

I have seen questionable officiating, and can live with that so long as it is not consistent. Parents are a bigger problem. Clapping and cheering when they think one of the other teams' player has been hurt. To that end, West Wilson middle school has quite a few Sore Losers for Parents. We had some SLPs on our team last year, thankfully their daughter is not on the team this year.

I was told that a number of players quit the Portland team this season regarding who got to start the game. Any truth to this statement? :confused:
