  1. you're posting in a forum dominated by KIDS. power isn't going to be in here, power isn't going to get wind of this. the only way you're gonna get the funding and such is by getting a group of parents to talk to administration. no one with any influence over these specific schools is going to be in here reading this without someone telling them to read it, in which case they may as well go ahead and present their case in person. agree?
  2. i agree with crkjon, posting in here isn't going to do jack to help your soccer program get funding and facilities, you're just listening to everyone complain about how soccer is the step-child of their school athletics. i love soccer, but this isn't how you're going to bring it into the forefront of your school and such, posting in a forum dominated by soccer players who will most likely agree with you and just sit in here and vent.
  3. did you guys play club/travel soccer back in the late summer/fall? i think our team played you guys, i don't know.
  4. i don't remember specifically, i play midfield so i'm more focused on their team than their keeper.
  5. having played both creekwood and hickman, i'd say it's going to be a competitive game, but i think creekwood has a definite shot at coming out with a win. nothing against hickman, but creekwood's not that bad (well, you know what i mean.)
  6. about Lowder, people talk about him because people like you continue to put him up on some pedistal where he doesn't belong, not because he's THAT good. i've seen him play, he has skill, yes, but he's not the best. i'm not saying that because he's THAT good, i'm saying that because that's my honest opinion. it's like wayne county's threads, people keep posting in them and it's not because they're THAT good, it's because they keep talking about themselves, or others ask about them. people don't always talk good or bad about someone just because they're good at something, sometimes it's because one person keeps insisting on talking about them.
  7. grace, i believe you mean Aaron Maccaro of Fairview. and you're right, he was born to play soccer. he's made a great contribution to this team and continues to improve. and whoever said that about TJ Brown and Daniel Kelly is correct as well, TJ is a hoss and Daniel flows like the ball was born attached to his foot. he has incredible foot skills for a freshman, for a soccer player period. he, aaron, and TJ all played in the TNFC u-15 premier team together this past summer and fall.
  8. hey david, score was 10-1, not 12-1. we could have had many more goals, but we as a team decided to stop trying to score, if it happened on accident it was ok (and no, i'm not trying to make excuses, i'm letting everyone know what happened.)
  9. i don't agree with the 10-0 score, but i think you will get beaten by about the same, although CA's shooting isn't that great this year. they HAVE improved their passing game though, and once they get up, they will stay up, they'll pull all their team back on D and make it VERY tough for you guys to move the ball. i'd like to see this game, too bad both schools are way out there, otherwise i might have planned on it.
  10. speaking of games people are going to watch, is anyone else going to the Galaxy game at the Coliseum on april 20th?
  11. fairview has played zion, and fairview crushed you guys last year. tell me you weren't playing your starting team and considering them a challenge. i told you, i was judging from past zion teams, and you gave us NO competition whatsoever, your COACH did more than you guys did (remember that game when your coach and our coach got into it a little, and she said something like," they've got nothing" and he responded with "look at the scoreboard guys" because it was something like 6 or 7-1? remember that?) don't assume i don't know what i'm talking about, i've played both teams before, and you will get beaten. i'm suprised columbia only scored 3 on you last year, but of course, you didn't score any on them either. if you had at least gotten one goal, then you'd have a LITTLE wiggle room to talk about, but you don't. i didn't say you were terrible in past years, i said you weren't that great, nothing to be excited about. i hate stupid people too, so i'd assume that means you're gonna stop posting?
  12. does chris pepper play for BA?
  13. judging from the zion teams of the past and ca this year, you (zion) will get stomped, no question. i don't think you could have improved that much in 1 year.
  14. i saw lowder play, i wasn't too impressed. he's just bigger than most others, that helps him a lot. i've seen better sophomores, and actually better freshmen.
  15. i'd like to see ravenwood play fairview. actually, i would like to see most of these teams play fairview (not saying we'll win, i just want to play to see how we stand)
  16. physical team, bad goalie, not a great sweeper
  17. going into halftime, teams were tied 1-1. fairview controlled the ball mostly and had it in their offensive half of the field for quite a bit of the game, also taking plenty of shots (sadly putting no more in the back of the net). CA scored their second goal off a free kick about 5 yards outside the 18, and they played smart soccer by pulling their team back (except for the forwards) and playing everyone on defense, they basically played an 8 man defense which SERIOUSLY limited fairview's chances to take open shots. while they pulled all those people back, fairview still managed to keep the ball down in their end for quite awhile and get their shots off (although the shots were contested every time), and CA began stalling every chance they got, asking the refs if it was ok to throw the ball, piddling around while retrieving the balls on throw in's, etc. while very annoying, it was smart soccer, they maintained their lead to the end. i'm sure if you ask them though they'll admit that this was a very tough game, no one on either side was able to sit back and rest, it was a hard fought game for all 90 minutes. it will continue to be a good matchup in the future.
  18. after i posted i saw your reply, Eagle, and i appreciate that you had the courtesy to comment kindly and build them up. i do look forward to playing Zion later this season. good luck til then
  19. ok. if you (Zion, not wayne) have any respect, character, and decency, you would A) not be in here bragging about beating a team 15-0 not be bragging about beating them with your C team and C) not be proud of it and posting where your other district teams can see you. you need to learn not only to win vs. teams that matter, but to win graciously against teams that don't. in a game like this where you are playing your C team and running up the score, you DON'T run up the score to make the other team look/feel bad (how are they ever going to get any better with no confidence), you work on your ball handling because trust me, you're going to need all the practice you can get when we get to you. and you don't come in here and post about how great you are running up the score. if you have to brag about a 15-0 win, you are truly a group of losers. the score should never get that high. if it was a hard fought, competitive game, then you'd have something to say. get ready for fairview, we as a team won't tolerate this kind of arrogance.
  20. it's cool of you to come in and apologize, we all do know how it is with those few players. it's cool though, as long as the rest of the team isn't like that on the field (i haven't seen them like that in here except for that one guy, #10 i guess)
  21. i want to hear scores and stats and such after the game happens, since both are district teams. fairview plays columbia academy tonight at fairview at 6, it should be a good matchup. these games were very competitive last year, and though CA won both times, both teams played very hard ball and played very well. i'm anxious, i wish the school day was over so we could be that much closer to playing already. good luck to ZCA, WC, and CA (and of course, FAIRVIEW)
  22. no one said we were big OR bad, we just want to play. if you're going to run over us, then why not try? everyone needs to play better teams, and everyone needs to play teams they can run circles around. if you want to talk all big and bad, then why not show us what you can do? seeing as we've never played brentwood, neither team knows how we'd fare against you. it would be an interesting scrimmage/game/match, whatever, but i personally would like to see it happen this year before i graduate, because all i've heard is how much you and franklin would destroy us, and if it happens, it happens, but until then, you haven't proven anything to or against US PERSONALLY. wow, you beat hickman county, big deal. wow, we beat hickman county, big deal. we expected that, and if we had lost or if it had even been close, we would have been very disappointed. a win vs. hickman, wayne, all those smaller schools or schools with undeveloped programs is nothing to brag about. but at least we know they'll get better, because they play schools that are just as good or better than them, and it gives them something to strive for. williamson county has good soccer programs, and if we played each other more, fairview would be brought up to speed and could possibly compete at higher levels than we have previously. but yeah, i'm tired of all this crap about "we didn't want to waste our time and talent and schedule playing you guys", because who cares, that's what the preseason is FOR.
  23. no, it's at fairview at 6:00. the Page game was rescheduled to 4:30 due to the Galaxy playing Guadalahara at the Coliseum, and our game is scheduled for the same day. as it is now, we (both page and fairview) are going to the Galaxy game immediately after our game, apparently win or lose. tension, you think?
