  1. Amy Josephson - Farragut - CF - Signed with Austin Peay.
  2. Amen. What Maryville has done this year has been amazing. This game is about consistent pitching, error-free defense and clutch hitting. So many times, great pitching gets all the focus, but all three components have to be in place to make a great TEAM. That's what Maryville has accomplished this year. A couple of years ago, you could have said that Maryville's success was all great pitching. This year they have shown us all the value to every component of the game. That said, LadyAd19, we're going to the batting cage!!!
  3. That's right!!! Where's the rhetoric now!!
  4. Farragut would have been playing in that game if we had walked Alicia once. What a great year she had. She was always a pull hitter, but this year she has shown power to the opposite field. It's a shame Bearden did not advance. This was the year. Congrats to Heather. That had to be awkward, playing at Bearden last year and pitching against them in a key game this year.
  5. They were in the paper last week. Here they are: Farragut: Margaret Morris, Amy Josephson, Stephanie Dueber and Jessie Howard Bearden: Sally Gale, Alicia Boris, Amanda McCollum and Jennifer Walker William Blount: Callie White, Tasha Denny and Rachel Wall Heritage: Shelley Fagg, K. Murr Maryville: Bre Anderson, Becca Giles, Lindsy Little, Brooke Melton Sevier County: Ashley Eckenrode South-Doyle: Andrea Hammond West: Ashley Norton Player of the Year: Sally Gale (Well Deserved) Coach of the Year: Blevins - Bearden The All District 4-AAA Tournament team consisted of the following: Bearden: Sally Gale (tournament MVP), Amanda McCollum, Alicia Boris, Meagan Fredenberg Maryville: Allison Fulmer, Becca Giles, Brooke Melton, Lindsey Little Heritage: Shelley Fagg Farragut: Margaret Morris, Haley Lewis
  6. How was the run scored? I heard that Powell walked Alicia Boris 4 times. Who pitched for Powell?
  7. Way to go, Maryville!! Great to see you guys doing well. Take it all the way to state for District 4!!
  8. They were in the paper last week. I'll see if I can dig that out and list them all, but here is what I remember: Farragut: Margaret Morris, Amy Josephson, Stephanie Dueber and Jessie Howard Bearden: Sally Gale, Alicia Boris, Amanda McCollum and Jennifer Walker William Blount: Callie White, Tasha Denny and Rachel Wall Heritage: Shelley Fagg, K. Murr There were four from Maryville, but I can't remember which ones right now. Player of the Year: Sally Gale (Well Deserved) Coach of the Year: Blevins - Bearden
  9. District 4 AAA #1 - Bearden #2 - Maryville Powell plays at Bearden Monday Maryville travels to Karns Monday
  10. One last thing. I know, I know, those that lose are suppose to go their merry way and shut up, but I can't resist. If you had told me before the tournament that Margaret would pitch 23 innings in the district tournament, have only 2 runs scored, one earned and hold Maryville to 1 unearned run (they scored 5 on Bearden, 7 on Heritage and 3 on Bearden), I would have said Farragut was the hands down winner. Farragut played great defensive ball this year. Better fielding percentage than last year's team (0.965 v 0.953), similar ERA (0.66 v 0.49). We have to work on the sticks. The batting cage will be open this summer. Be there as much as you can.
  11. Well, Farragut bows out. Lost to Maryville 1-0 tonight in a game that was hard fought by both teams. The one run scored was unearned and Farragut had Runners in scoring position several times. Good luck to Maryville and Bearden. Speaking of which, when I left (I had to go get some comfort food) the championship game was tied 3-3 in the top of the 4th. Coach Hawkins had taken one for the team (foul ball in the leg). That had to hurt!!
  12. Both good hitting teams. Maryville is really on a tear. I'm not one to dredge up old threads but somebody on this board owes Ken Hawkins an apology. Coach Blevins at Bearden has done a great job this year and deserves the Coach of the Year, but coach Hawkins gets my vote. BTW, VTEC, congrats to Rachel on making the All-district team!!
  13. MM did a great job! (7IP, 4H, 7K, 0BB) Heritage got a runner to second in the third and the runners at second and third with one out in the 6th, but Margaret pitched out of it both times. Heritage did not play as well as they can. Both games tonight will be barn burners!!
  14. Looks like we might get the games in. No more rain, PLEASE!!
  15. Monday night: Bearden 9 Maryville 5 Farragut 4 Heritage 0 Tuesday nights games: Bearden v Farragut - 5:00 - Winner's Bracket Final Heritage v Maryville - 7:00 - Elimination Game
  16. I hate to see Coach England go. She had some good teams at WB. Rachel will be alright if you go and have some fun this summer!
  17. South Doyle 4 West 0 Maryville 12 Sevier County 2 Saturday's Games: Noon: Maryville v William Blount 2:00: Heritage v South Doyle
  18. Does anyone have the schedule for this tournament, VCR?
  19. Wrong Thread VCR, OFF TOPIC, OFF TOPIC. Speaking of that, VCR, I will post a thread for the District 3 tournament. Can you post the schedule and times for games?
  20. Isn't complaining about other people's posts OFF TOPIC!! Keep your complaints off the thread, they are not on topic.
  21. Thanks. What are the schedules for the district tournaments? Do you know District 1?
  22. District 4 AAA Tournament is supposed to start tonight, but we have rain right now. This is the schedule posted in the paper this morning: Thursday: 5pm - Maryville vs, Sevier County 7pm - West vs. South Doyle Friday: 5pm - William Blount vs. Maryville/Sevier County Winner 7pm - Heritage vs. West/South Doyle Winner Monday: Bearden vs. WB/Maryville/Sevier County Winner Farragut vs. Heritage/West/South Doyle Winner Double elimination starts with Monday's games. All games played at Bearden this year.
  23. Don't worry jeffersonairplane, you were responding to a previous post. BTW, The pitcher at Oak Ridge is Alex Lewis and the #1 pitcher at Heritage is Shelley Fagg. Also, jeffersonairplane, keep everyone informed (through a seperate thread) what is going on in District 1 & 2. The people in Knoxville never hear anything until regionals. I suspect that Jefferson County and Morristown East will be the teams this year, but some District 1 teams could be tough.
  24. Faragut and Heritage played a whale of a game last night at Heritage. Scoreless through 10 innings, Farragut finally scored two runs in the top of the 11th to win the game. Both runs scored on the same passed ball. Margaret Morris ended the game with 12Ks and one hit (150 pitches). Shelley Fagg had 6 Ks and 9 hits, but controlled Farragut batters all night. Congratulations to both ptichers on a great game. Watch out for both these teams in the post season.
