  1. Farragut won 3 and tied one. Wins were against, Carter, Kingston, and Morristown West. The tie was with Karns. The Karns scrimmage was a great game. Farragut had 2nd and 3rd with one out in one inning but couldn't score. Karns had one hit and one other base runner (error) and didn't score. The game went 6 innings total.
  2. They played USSSA last year, but my understand is that they are going to be playing the "A" exposure curcuit this year.
  3. Farragut scrimmaged Clinton on Saturday (Won, 6-2, threw 4 pitchers). Scrimmaged Powell Tuesday (Won 11-2, threw 4 pitchers) Farragut will also play in the Powell Playday and Beech Playday (3/12), as well as Scrimmages against Gibbs (Home 3/08 and Away 3/01), Karns (Home 3/02), Halls (Home 3/03), Webb (Home 3/09)
  4. Add Marville Magic 18u and Diamond Dodgers 18u to the list. Other great tournaments to dd to the list Southeastern Exposure (more college coaches than Viper Tournament) Dynamites Classic (Columbia, SC NFCA camps) Colorado Indy Tournament.
  5. Farragut and Central were the teams to beat out of the Knoxville area last year, but both lost quite a bit to graduation. However, both Farragut and Central have starting pitchers returning. Farragut has quite a few underclassmen to reload with, so Farragut will be tough again this year. Also look for Karns and Powell to make a run for District 3AAA this year. Bearden, William Blount and Heritage out of District 4AAA can be the front runners if the breaks go right. Maryville has a solid infield returning, but pitching is the big question mark for them. If that comes through, Maryville will be tough. Go Lady Admirals!
  6. Farragut will have a JV team this year (we always do). I think there have been fewer girls coming out at schools recently. Bearden did not have a JV team last year as well. The BIG question in District 4AAA: Will Sevier County field a VARSITY this year?
  7. Oh, the little things!! Farragut has a pretty good freshman pitcher coming in and several excellent hitters, including a home run hitter. Imagine, Farragut with a home run threat. With so much reloading in the starting positions, it is hard to tell who will get the starts. Let's play.
  8. Here is my top four prediction for each district (realize that I was wrong last year and probably will be this year) District 4: Farragut William Blount Bearden Heritage District 3: Powell Karns Central Oak Ridge Heather Broyles moving from Bearden to Powell this year will take one gun away from Bearden and give it to Powell. William Blount was really impressive in Fall Ball.
  9. We are still in need of a catcher. We play out of Maryville, TN, but have players from all over the region. We don't plan to have more tryouts, but can do something one-on-one.
  10. We still have some openings, primarily catcher.
  11. VTEC, Good to see you Saturday. Sorry we couldn't talk longer. I looked up the Powell site and couldn't find 2004 standings. What link did you use?
  12. Is this going to be in downtown Knoxville or in Halls this year?
  13. The Maryville Magic 18u Gold summer team needs a GOLD quality pitcher and two catchers for next summer season. We will play in very high profile exposure tournaments (Caorlina Dynamites, Souteastern Exposure, Rising Stars and have applied for Colorado Firecracker). These tournaments will showcase your skills to the top college programs in the country. We will have a tryout on Sunday September 12. If you are interested, contact me by private message through CoachT, or call 865-405-1105.
  14. Yes, it will start the 28th, skip Labor day weekend, then go for 5 weeks and follow with a tournament. We had our fist practice Tuesday night and we are VERY young. This fall will be interesting. Margaret is going to pitch some, but there are 6 pitchers that made the team this fall. We will need to pitch them all, so who knows how we will do. The younger players will need to step up.

    USA Softball

Don't you have a VCR VTEC? I have been recording the games and watching them. This is an awesome USA Softball team. Lefties at 1-2 and 8-9 in the order. Power at 3-4-5. I watched the first two games and saw them run rule Italy and Australia. Their pitching is nothing short of phenom. Cat Osterman has so much movement on the ball. She is hard to hit.
  16. We are definately staying at Powell. We will have one team. What is WB going to do thise year, one team or two?
  17. I haven't heard that. I think we will stay at Powell. Much closer to home and pretty good competition.
  18. I'm here VTEC. Been busy travelling. I have not heard anything about the Powell League. I you hear something, let me know.
  19. The Maryville Magic went 4-1 in Birmingham this weekend in a 44 team field. Great competition. The Magic won all their pool games and lost in the quarter final of the Gold Bracket. Other TN teams there were the Brentwood Blues, Nashville Nighthawks (not sure which one), and Knoxville Thunder. The Bluse placed second in their pool and then lost the first game to the Carolina Sandlappers. That was a shame because they would have played the Magic in the next game. I wanted to see these two teams play. Maybe later.
  20. We played the USSSA World two years ago (14u) in Orlando at Disney. It was a great experience for the girls. 66 teams. The facilities are great at Disney, but you have to park a mile away and wolk through the park to get there. It was also VERY expensive.
  21. Farragut will lose 5 seniors this year, but have a good group of freshman and sophomores with experience. Farragut lost 6 seniors last year and we didn't make it out of districts.
  22. ceoswis - What were those coments all about!! 'University of Farragut' & 'Better Luck next Year'. This is Farragut's first year in 5 years to be at the big dance. Our girls were in the same boat as Central, none of them had ever been to state. You made it sound like we go every year. There is a brewing rivalry between Farragut and Central, and for good cause. Both teams played well in both games this year. I think a split is fair considering the work each team put into both games. It was unfortunate that each game came down to errors, but isn't that true of just about any fastpitch game? I hope Farragut does have better luck next year. I think both teams had more than their share of luck this year.
  23. I think, of the six teams that were left on Thursday, SD and Beech were the best teams at the tournament. However, any of the six could win easily. Farragut and Central played 11 innings and Central Came out on top. Soddy played Central and socred the winning run with two out in the bottom of the seventh. Farragut beat central for the Region 2AAA title this year. It was a great tournament. Let's work hard and go back next year ladies!!
  24. Kori Manes ripped a single up the middle against Kandice Irwin at the STate Tournament that kept Farragut in the game. Congradulations, Kori!! See you next weekend.
