  1. How good is Andrew Donald, and is he a college prospect? If so, where is he looking at attending college?
  2. Nathan Thomas -6'6 SF - Wilson Central Andrew Donald 6'5 PF - Lebanon Ben Sneed 6'6 PF - Blackmon Chris Orr 6'7 SF - Brentwood Ronnie Hickman 5'11 PG - LaVergne Are these guys legit college prospects? None but Thomas are ranked in your top 55. Also, where do you see Joseph Bailey at Pickett County going to college?
  3. not a big surprise. CH is playing without 2 starters lost for the season but still beats PJP2 at PJ2. CH led for most all of the game and won by 9. This CH's only meeting w/PJ this season. CH lost to BGA last night by 12. CH has a 15-9 record with DCA and Ezell coming up in the next few weeks.

    Cpa vs. Dca

Its just been reported that College Heights has been approved for the district this year which drops CPA's district record to 4-4. Oh well - CPA can always get-em next year. (g)
  5. Saw where they almost beat FRyan. They seem to be much improved from last year.
  6. CH beat CPA for the 3rd time this season at a hostile CPA gym. CH made some big shots and had to come from behind. CH made some great adjustments. I think Coach Brooks (no disrespect) was matched coaching -wise move for move all night. Great game CPA - good luck the rest of the way. You guys will give Gpasture a run for their money.
  7. They are in private Christian school in Gallatin but have not been "travelling around the nation". The kids that they "recruited" from Hunters Lane never played a single second of varsity basketball for them. The kids they have actually wanted to go to CH beleive it or not and most all of them have been at CH for years. As far as college prospects - they really only have one D1- a mid/major that is playing his very first year of organized basketball. He is a Jr. They have a Sr. that came to CH after his 10th grade year that may make it at NAIA level. Other than that there are no other legit college prospects. They start 2 10th graders that played JV at CH last year, 1 Jr. and 2 Sr's and as stated before the Jr. is playinh his first year of organized ball. If that qualifies them as a all-star team then I guess they are. They are 10-7. Their 7 losses are to: DCA -3 in OT Our Savior, NY -16 Central Park, AL -11 BGA -12 Goodpasture -12 Goodpasture -3 Temple -4 2OT I guess their quality wins would be: CPA +17 CPA +17 Oak Hill Red +8 Ezell +12 They are overrated by the teams they beat because it makes them feel better. Instead of just saying "we got outplayed", you here things like, "they are nothing but a bunch of athletes". They have games coming up against CPA (3rd time), BGA, DCA, Mont.Bell, PJP2 and Ezell. Hope this helps. FCPress
  8. Temple slowed the game way down in the first 1/2 and had the lead at the break. CH likes a fast up-tempo style and came out and pressed for the rest of the game. CH had a 5 point lead with less than 1 min. to go and missed key FT's to seal the win. Caleb Skogen took the ball and hit a running lay-up at the buzzer to send it to the 1st OT. CH leading scorer was benched from the 1 min. mark of the 4th qtr and both OT periods for undisclosed reasons. CH was down by 2 with 8 seconds to go and their PG went coast to coast to hit a runner at the buzzer to send it to the next OT. In the 2nd OT CH's PG fouled out and their SG fouled out. Temple went up by 5 and hit their FT's when CH had to foul. CH - Jordan led CH w/ 32 points and 14 rebs. Temple's Caleb Skogen had 16 points in the OT's to end with 41. Foul trouble really hurt CH. Great game. Temple is a good team. They lack size but both Skogen kids and the Wadley kid are decent players. Temple is 10-5 and has played a tough schedule.
  9. 1. Played at Metro Christian in Madison. Won by Temple, Chattanooga over CH in double overtime 75-71. 2. Is CH athletic? Yes. But their athleticism is overrated IMO. They play very hard, they play fast and they play good, not great defense. The teams that they have beat like to chalk it up to "they are just so athletic" because it must make them feel better. The truth is that 3 of their 10 varsity players are athletic. The rest are average players at best. They come from the Sumner area / some from Madison and go to CH because their parents want them to get a Christian Education. 3. Tough one to answer. I would say they have the potential to be a strong tournament team. They start 2 soph's, 2 sr's and 1 Jr. The Jr. that starts is playing his first year of varsity basketball and is very raw. The soph's were playing on CH JV team last year and are inexperienced. If they can mature and play the way they are capable of - they could make some noise this year. They still have CPA, MBA, BGA, DCA, Ezell and PJP2 left to play.
  10. Caleb Skogen has 41 points for Temple Ernest Jordan has 32 for CH great game - pity someone had to lose...
  11. and by the way DP - I wholeheartedly agree about the officials - looked like they were from the JV ranks and a little out of their league. I think both of the coaches were perplexed for the most part of the night. The one call that summed it all up was when the ref called a charge against CH then 5 seconds later said block - then said charge to reconsider once more finally settling on a "block" against CH.
  12. Thanks for the classy post. CH is very respectful of CPA's players and coaches. Very good team with Sikes, House and Hobgood leading the way with very hard working role players. It was a very good game - first half especially - with CH and CPA going back and forth. CH does not look forward to playing CPA for a 3rd time especially at CPA. Good luck the rest of the way with the exception of Tue. night. BTW- The final score was 72-55 CH
  13. I am a loyal fan- no one likes to be cast into a mold that has been made by those who are unaware of the truth. Thank you for the kind words. Good luck to GP the rest of the way - hopefully to state. FCP
  14. 1. Lazarus father is a trucker that moved to Gallatin from Louisiana. He stayed with the coach and other players when his dad was on the road for weeks at a time. He did not play in the first game vs. Goodpasture do to academic reasons and at Christmas break moved back to Louisiana to live with his grandmother. Lazarus is no longer a student at CH. 2. They don't have a "system". ??? Overrated Term. CH runs a multiple defense that mixes zone and man. They will play mostly man. Iwould assume they played a lot of zone vs GP due to size mis-matches. (6'11 and 6'8 on 6'3 and 6'4 tend to dictate schemes) On offense they have always stressed "up-tempo" and getting easy baskets. They run basic motion offenses that include multiple screens and cuts like most every team in America. If they have a player that has hit 8 3's---it may be that their "system" allows for that person to shoot the ball. Just a guess. 3. Goodpasture's "system" is no more complex than CH. They play man to man all the time. They run a high/low game to exploit mis-matches since they have a 6'11 and 6'8 kids. Not rocket science. They must not really have a system. 4. Good luck the rest of the sesaon.
