  1. Nospin have you been designated as the police dog for Unaka High School on Coach T. The last time I checked this was a message board where people could dicuss sporting issues in general. You might not agree with everything you read but nothin has been said out of the way about any kids or players and never will be. If it hurts your feelings that someone states that the athletic progams are so divided at UHS that no one knows what is going on then you will just have to be offended. As long as you pat everyone on the back at UHS everything is hunkie dorie but loe and behold someone step on the wrong toes on the creek. As for a new Coach T ID, I don't think so and I will still continue to voice my opinions on here. I might not agree with everything that goes on, but at least I try and support UHS. So get the word out that ole Tdog might just not agree with everything that the Lord's of Stoney Creek are doing. But I won't be offended by it.
  2. Why not ask the players from both Hampton and Unaka if they want to play each other. The answer would be yes from both teams. This has nothing to do with either school not wanting to play each other. It about a football program that is wanting to find someone to play that they can win against. I hope that people realize that this has nothing to do with basketball and baseball. The kids at Unaka in these sports play probably the toughest Class A schedule across the state.
  3. The fact that none of the sports programs can work together seems to have created bad blood among many people at the school. What is the problem? A small community should have harmony among their sports programs. Going to the games should be fun among fans. I agree, the current head coach has given his all to the Unaka sports programs. But how far can one spread themself? The boys baseball team lost out on the opportunity to play fall baseball and the baseball field that was suppose to be #1 priority looks like it might never be finished. If money was allocated by the school board to solely build the baseball field it should have been completed along with the football field. But because the community is so divided among athletics, we might never see it finished. As for the coaching situation I just hope that someone will take the job and keep it for a long time. The kids that participate in football deserve that. But revising your schedule to try and play teams you can compete with will be a disaster to the basketball and baseball programs and maybe even softball. I think that you made progress with the new Jr. High football coach. He is really excited about the program and that's what's needed. I hope the Ranger football program wins 10 games every year but I hope it is not at the expense of the other athletic teams. I for one look foward to the games involving all the Carter County teams. My advice to the administration is that when you tell someone you are going to do something, at least make an all out effort to see that the task gets completed. I also hope in the years to come that all Rangers fans would support all the sports programs. [Edited by coachtdog on 9-24-02 3:10P]
  4. Are you still tasting the crow that you eat in last years regional tournament championship. My predictions are! District 1. Unaka, Cloudland District 2. Hancock, Powell Valley
  5. I just heard that Hampton and Unaka will not play each other after this season due to Unaka dropping them in football next season. I really hate to see this and it is sad that a Coach would sacrifice the other sports programs just to pick up a few games on the football schedule that he can win. The whole irony of high school sports is to play teams that are close by and establish a rivalry. Unaka and Hampton has engaged in sports for the past 50 years and to stop playing one another would be a disaster. The question is not to drop the teams you are playing but why not be honest and ask ourselves why is the program where it is at. It starts with your feeder program. The coaching situation has not been stable for the past several years. Their is lack of interest in the program and don't kid yourself, it's not just the losing part. Some of it has to do with people you surround the program with. My advice is not to sacrifice the sports you are successful in just to win a few football games. This is unfair to the kids that play the other sports. It is an honor to play Hampton, Happy Valley, and other schools close by. What does this do for boys and girls basketball, baseball and softball. Will we have to start traveling 150 miles just to find teams we can play. I hate losing too but to drop the teams that we have played for many years dating back to our grandpsrents would be a severe blow to our entire athletic program.
  6. This is one thread that needs to be closed and should have been a long time ago. This has no place on this board. It is so easy to jump on the bandwagon and badger this man to no end but sooner or later it has to stop. I am in East Tennessee and don't even know the person but I want to remind all of you Coach Glisson bashers some words that was spoken by the greatest coach to ever walk the face of this earth. Ye people who are without sin, let him cast the first stone. No rocks were thrown and people went on their way. You people need to do likewise.
  7. You will be surprised at the progress made when kids live in gym. This group plays every night. They will be much quicker than last season and people might be shocked to see them now as opposed to back in the summer. They have pride in their program and I don't see it falling off that much regardless of who they lost. They have players quiet capable of stepping in and filling the shoes of those that have left. Coach Ensor will adjust his style of play to the talent that they have. Look for Unaka to be a tournament ready team when end of season rolls around. The Rangers don't rebuild up on the creek, they just reload!!!!!

Coach Ensor is not going anywhere. He has a top notch class A program that can compete with some of the areas best teams. Mark my word, they will be a good team when season end rolls around this year. And I think thay will be really special next season. They work their tails off, players and coaches and refuse to look at the size schools that they play. I think they will be better next season than they were this past season. They have a good group of players who love to play and they will only have one Senior this season. As for Coach Chambers, He is one of the best young coaches in this area. Mark my word, he played as many as 7 freshmen last season. They will be a dominate force for the next several seasons. Unaka boys and girls are fortunate to have some of the finest basketball coaches in this area. Unaka also has two excellent baseball coaches in coach Ensor and Coach Long. 10. I just can't see Coach Ensor leaving the Rangers. He grew up in the community and played his high school ball at Unaka. He has some good kids to work with so I would be surprised if he left.
  11. They had some key players out at camp.[Edited by coachtdog on 8-14-02 9:05A]
  12. Ask Blaize, He knows quite a bit about football in Carter County.
  13. I agree with luvsbball. They came to play in JC a few years ago with I know at least three players that were too old. And the sad part was one of the people with the team told us then realized that they had said the wrong thing. So our coach opted not to play them again the next day.
