  1. Unionville will come in 2007, but expect MTC to go to region 4. That should still leave open 2 old rivalry game. Plus, you can always scrimmage or play old teams in the jamboree.
  2. According to TSSAA website LA will be in region 2: Anderson County (Clinton) Austin-East (Knoxville) Kingston Knoxville Catholic (Knoxville) Knoxville Fulton (Knoxville) Livingston Academy (Livingston) Scott County (Huntsville)

    Region 6-a

Congrats to Perry County. I think they can be very competive in this region. Expect hard nosed battles every week. However, I don't think either Mt. Pleasant or Wayne County will be near as good as this year. I'm not saying they wont be really good. Just expect some dropoff.
  4. Don't get to carried away. While there are several downtrodden teams in there, most of them have some tradition back somewhere in thier history. Lewis County and Loretto come to mind.
  5. New region for Hickman County: Region 5 Hickman County (Centerville) Hillsboro (Nashville) Lawrence County (Lawrenceburg) Maplewood (Nashville) Shelbyville Stratford (Nashville) Tullahoma Whites Creek That doesn't look promising. Hope they move down to 3A in two years.
  6. How about Livingston Academy in with all the Knoxville teams in 2-3A, instead of with DeKalb and Macon in 4-3A.
  7. Right now the thinking from the region 5 and 6 coaches is this: Region 5 McEwen Jo Byrns Clarksville Acad Nashville Christian Cascade Eagleville Forrest Unionville (will have JV next yr) Region 6 Perry Co (not sure) CA Mt Pleasant Zion Wayne Co Collinwood Cornersville Moore Co Huntland (not sure) It would even things up a lot if Huntland went with region 3 and PC went with region 7. I know PC wants to play on this side of the river and I know Huntland has always played with the old DRVC teams like Forrest, Moore Co, and Cornersville. However, like ELA said, there is big logjam of teams that want to be in region 6.
  8. Teams that could contend: East bracket: Midway Greenback Oneida Huntland(if they move into reg 3) South Pitt(eventually) Trousdale Friendship West bracket: Nashville Christian Mt Pleasant JCS West Carroll Union City McKenzie Lake County(eventually)
  9. USJ, CPA, DCA, and Mt. Pleasant from the west half. Boyd from the east half. Boyd may win it, but the west bracket will be absolutetly loaded as usual.
  10. GreenMan, It is up to the individual county school system. Marshall county(Forrest) has the policy that if schools are closed absolutely no school activity can take place. I'm sure that had alot to do with the decision to go ahead and play it. At decision time yesterday(when Collinwood loaded the bus) it looked like schools could be closed today and the weather was not that bad over here yet. That meant either a Saturday or Monday game if the game was cancelled, and coaches and administrators from both schools wanted to avoid that. It certainly turned out to be pretty bad last night. Not so much the playing field, but the trip home for Collinwood could not have been enjoyable. Hindsight is always 20/20. Hope everyone made it home safe. And on the bright side you can go scout Wayne Co. tonight.
  11. Nice story. Coach Lee is a fine Christian man.
  12. Thanks for the info PageMan. Montgomery Central got the big hit when they needed it and Lewisburg didn't. Simple as that. Good luck to both teams tomorrow.
  13. All games were played last night. Cornersville 4 Cascade 0 Huntland 4 Culleoka 2 Cornersville 11 Huntland 0 Tonight: Forrest vs Richland at 6:00, loser will play Cornersville at 7:30.
  14. Richland will play Unionville. Unionville beat Cornersville 5-4 last night in the play in game. Game winner came on a squeeze play in the bottom of the 8th.
  15. Play in game Wednesday: Eagleville at Unionville Tourney at Culleoka Thursday: 1. Forrest vs 8. Unionville 2. Richland vs 7. Huntland 3. Cornersville vs 6. Moore Co 4. Culleoka vs 5. Cascade
  16. There is a clear seperation between the top 4 (Forrest, Richland, Cornersville, and Culleoka) and the rest of the teams. However, all of those teams in the top 4 had some very close games or losses to teams 5-8. Should make for an interesting tourney. If one of the top 4 is having an off day it won't take much for an upset.
  17. Current standings and # of district losses: 1. Forrest 0 2. Richland 2 3. Cornersville 4 4. Culleoka 5 5. Cascade 9 6. Unionville 11 6. Huntland 11 6. Moore Co 11 9. Eagleville 16 Games remaining: Richland @ Forrest 5/3 Cornersville @ Unionville 5/3 Cornersville @ Culleoka 5/3 Tourney as best as I can figure: -Forrest(1st), Richland(2nd), Cascade(5th), and Eagleville(9th) have locked up those spots. -If two teams are tied in the final standings and split their season games I believe the team with a victory over the highest seed gets the spot. -If Cornersville wins either game today they are 3rd and Culleoka is 4th. If Cornersville loses to both Unionville and Culleoka, Culleoka will be 3rd and Cornersville will be 4th. -If Unionville beats Cornersville, Moore Co will be 8th, Unionville 7th, and Huntland 6th. -If Cornersville beats Unionville, Moore Co will be 6th, Huntland 7th, and Unionville 8th. Does all that look correct?
  18. Richland is in sole possession of 2nd at this point. Culleoka and Cornersville are tied for 3rd. Not sure about Cascade and Huntland, their order may be reversed.
  19. Yep, she's doing a great job. She knows the game, has a great attitude, and is constantly encouraging her players. She is exactly the kind of coach that parents involved with a struggling program should be thrilled to have coach their girls. They play good defense and will pick you off the bases in a heartbeat. However, they don't have much pitching and it will be difficult to beat the top teams until they do. My take on the slap is that she is simply trying to help the girls develop the skills they need to compete.
  20. Semifinals Goodpasture 8 Giles Co 1 Cornersville 3 Loretto 2 Championship Goodpasture 6 Cornersville 4
  21. It was a pretty good ballgame. Tied 1-1 going into the 6th. Pulaski scored two in the 6th and two more in the seventh when a ball rolled into the Tiger dugout. Very even game. I think the hits were even at 8 apiece and Pulaski walked several more than Walker for Lewisburg did. However, Giles got the key hits when they needed them and Lewisburg didn't. I'm not sure, but I think Lewisburg left at least 11 or 12 runners stranded. Congrats to Pulaski on the win.
  22. Baseball is certainly a team sport. Maybe not as much as football, but you can't win without your teamates.
  23. It was a great ballgame. Debbie Zimmerle picked up the win allowing only 4 hits and striking out 3. Alicia Riner pitched for Cornersville giving up 7 hits and 9 strikeouts. Danielle Hooper and Kaitlyn Moses led the Rockets, both going 2 for 3. Alicia Riner had a 2 run homer for Cornersville. Cornersville got the winning runs on base in the bottom of the 7th, but Forrest made some great defensive plays to hang on for the win 4-3.
  24. Brittany Johnson pitched for Richland. She gave up only 2 hits and struck out 13. However, she also had a few walks and there were several passed balls. Alicia Riner for Cornersville gave up only 2 hits to Richland while striking out 9. Cornersville spotted Richland 3 in the 1st on 3 straight errrors and then a bloop single. After that they settled down some. Cornersville got one back in the second, 2 in the third and a run in both the 4th and 5th innings. Richland added a run in the 6th, but Cornersville held on for the 5-4 win.
  25. Great info laz. Thanks for all the hard work. I am probably not intelligent enough to add anything. You sum it up superbly in the above quote.
