columbia will probably finish in 2nd but there are not much differences in franklin co , tullahoma or columbia. shelbyvlle is a notch above as their pitching is a notch above. but the district is down a little and shelbyville is not a power house who is going to blow teams out every game. I think the tournament will be wide open as usual.

Shelbyville 13 Tullahoma 3 at Tullahoma

Hargrove will make Tullahoma a solid team but their #2 pitcher is a soph. The other sr. pitcher Layton is coming off shoulder surgery and did not pitch last year. they will pitch several pitchers and they will not be in the top 3 unless the district is down. however come tournament time they might be able to make the region do to coaching & young players improving. By the way Walker has had some arm problems and is just now getting back to last years form.Shelbyville should win the district. Two solid Lft handed pitchers along with several others their only weak spot could be ss if they play a Freshman who will be back after basketball. Stewart the catcher is probably the best in the district. they hit the ball well. this is probably Shelbyville best team in years if the ss plays well.

look for top 2 to be shelbyville & franklin co. Lincoln co & Columbia next. Hargrove is a solid coach but this is his weakest team since he has been a head coach at Tullahoma. Most of their seniors are inexperienced and several soph. pitchers pitch. they are the type of team that will only get better as they play 4th or 5th place is likely but will do better come tournament time. coffee co & lawrence co will round out the district. all in all shelbyville should win the district.

I hate the conflict for the players but it would be stupid for Tullahoma to change to Sat. If they win they will have to play Tues. which would give Morris 3 days rest & would allow him to pitch on Tues. . If Clevland wants their players to go to graduation then they should change the graduation to Sat. This is a common conflict for baseball teams in the playoffs.

shelbville had 2 other hits they were both singles with 1 being a bunt hit.

Irenco Tullahoma did have a powerful team 4 or 5 years ago but I am not sure they choked the competition was alot stronger then in the district. There where probably 15 players who played college from the district and several where pitchers. This year besides Morris & Vincent the next pitcher woulld probably be Walker or Gardner from Lincoln Co. Tullahoma plays solid defense in the middle which that team did not. They where a power hitting team with alot of strikeouts this team gets the bat on the ball, throws strikes and makes routine plays not a spectacular team(except Morris) but a solid ballclub. I don't think the competition is strong enough for them to choke even though it is early.

tullahoma 9 franklin co 3 a sloppy game for franklin co errors & wild pitches. Walker lhp for tullahoma gets the win. Tullahoma is a solid team as team pitches well and plays good defense. they do not look like a power hitting team but they are not striking out much and have enough power to be dangerous. they also do a great job of getting the bat on the ball with runners in scoring position.they are the type of team so far who is not going to beat themselves.

There are alot of good highshool players who have a chance to make good college players in the middle Tn area. In district 8-aaa the most talented player with a high up side would have to be Morris from Tullahoma. He could sign with major colleges but they know he wants to be drafted or play with his dad asst. coach at Motlow St. He will be drafted but what round is still up in the air. Everyone talks about his velocity but he has a big time curve ball and very ever walks anybody. 3 walks in a game is a shocker for him. He has the most up side for the pros as any person from Tullahoma since Tampa Bays Brazelton which is pretty good company. When I say up side I mean the potential to get better & bigger.

I did not get to see Morris pitch Tues. but a no hiitter is impressive with only 1 walk. As far as the district Coffee Co & Tullahoma tie for 1st , Columbia , Franklin Co, Lincoln Co, Larwrence Co and Shelbyville having a off year.

tullahoma scored some runs and beaqt marshall co 5-0. walker pitched a solid 3.2 innings to get the win.good game for tullahoma.

siegel beats tullahoma in last night scrimmage. LHP from siegel shut tullahoma down as he struck out 8 in 4 innings. i did not get his name but he looked like he had good stuff. tullahoma did not pitch morris or lhps walker or curlee.

getting back to the district Tullahoma & Coffee will be the top 2 as they were last year. There is no way Tullahoma will finish 5th. They never have always have pitching. Morris is a pro prospect & will be drafted what round is still up in the air. I will give the edge to Coffee Co mainly because of Webster to go along with Vincent.

I did not say the schedule would not be tough. I said it will be better than last year. The Wildcats had 3.5 home games last year & they have 6 this year. That alone is a better schedule.

Tullahoma's QB will be Matt Mitchell who is a good runner and his throwing seems to have improved from last year. He did a solid job leading the team when QB Spence was hurt last year. The key on offense could be the running game and JR. RB Childress. SR OL Cutshaw a leader will be missed others will have to step up. The defense who had a rough year overall last year steped up the last few games and could be he bright spot this year. The stars did not shine on the Wildcats last year but if they do this year they could be back in the playoffs. The schedule is alot better this year.
