As far as how they have played this year, Grey over Poston, as she has played consistently all year. Milan would be nothing without her. GC Butler and Griffen come to mind, buthey have done it more as a team with others contributing than just 1 or 2 people. Rechis Swaim combo a good one, but still a year away, becasue of inexpeienced team mates. Cupples got off to a slow start, but has come on strong . Light, McLin under acheived. Roney, Fussell although Fussell was leading the way scoring, etc. it was because she has a strong supporting cast. My vote would be between Roney & Grey, then Poston.

Appear to be having an outstading season, but I didn't really recognize a lot of ranked teams they have played. They may be that good, as it appears most of the time their games are blow outs.

Watched NS vs USJ this afternoon USJ led all but the last 4 minutes or so. Ross for NS took over the game at the end. Don't think NS can beat the top 3 from 13 AA this year. Faxon is a good young PG for NS. Hill gets good low post position. Smith also solid post player. Nside defeated Hillcrest from Memphis a short while ago and that is the best Memphis seems to have. I am seeing a state champion from 13AA. Although LA , MC & McC will be there waiting

Db is in rough shape right now. Thompson did not play , sick. Others appeared not to feel well either. Game was over quick 18-6 1st qtr, 37-17 1/2, DB very sloppy. OC played well. It was good to see Fussell back. She played sparingly, probably a good decision not to push it. She will come along fast enough, as she is a great athlete. Tomorrow could be a long nite vs the Gc pressure and up temppo game.

If I had to make a prediction right now, Milan will get put out in the opening round, no matter who it is MW, DC or DB. I may change my mind by Monday @7:30pm, but right now I don't like the way things look!

12 years is how long Shepard has been in Milan. His teams give more effort and win less than any team I know of.

What a week for 13AA coming up!! Westview,Dyersburg & Dyer County could all be 4,5 or 6 when the week is over. GC & OC could be 1st or 2nd. Milan is a solid 3rd. Crockett is 7th. DB @ GC Tuesday is the 1st showdown. OC @ DB is the next one, along with MW vs DC for district position. And possibly the biggest thing of all, on 2/8 @ 9AM in Milan, the possible coin flip to see who may win the district, get the free pass to the region, and who Milan faces in the opening round and who are they in the semi-final bracket with. Who is in the loser leave the tournament game 4 vs 5 opening round. Lot on the line this week. May need to keep that coin warm for 4,5, and 6 spots. The district winner can take a breath and know you are in the region. The 2nd place team can take a short breath as you know you play a not very strong crockett team. From 3rd thru 6th, look out, no gimmes anywhere. And then when all of this is over and we send our 4 teams to Haywood, we start all over. Then it is who can put out NS and who can win the final matchup of 2 13AA schools for 2 13AA schools to hopefully move on.
