Not all 4, but have seen it where 3 know it and are not allowed input.
  2. Yea he has lost only 1 game in 2 years, IN THE WEAKEST DISTRICT IN THE STATE in AA. Check the records of Riverside, Camden, Mckenzie and Lex. against AA opponents. I also believe there are several other teams that would have cake walked through that district. Wait till you see what Bolivar does to Mckenzie, Sside does to Camden, or have you forgotten what they did last year. Sheppard has been @ Milan 8 years and has not won as many district and region games as years he has been there. I'm impressed. Don't get me wrong, he is very knowledgeable and works hard. He has a ego/pride problem though and it gets in the way of winning. He intentionally will not put a kid back in the game even if it means losing, if he gets mad @ him and it don't take much. Check out Milans starting lineups the last couple of years. It changes every night. I can name dyer county, sside, Bolivar, lex starting lineup yesterday, today and next week. In other words there is a consistency there. Milans' kids play as hard and get less for there effort than anyone. Superior talent the last couple of years was Milans biggest assest in the district. The talent will be gone soon though as no effort has been made to build the program. Lex will win district for years to come.
  3. No doubt Lex has some athletes that can play the game. Smith was I thought a problem for Milan going into the game. Gardner was solid and then when Shannon went out he had several penetrations and assists. When Shannon came back in though he almost turned the game back around in Milans favor with his defense on Gardner and Wise. Dodson hit some big shots for Milan, but it was Shannon who set him up. Milan missed free throws, and Sheppard played some guys that had no business being on the floor and Lex played very well and that led to a Lex victory. Lex may get by Humboldt and Milan may get by Chester, both could go either way , but that is it. Milans' season was over @ Christmas when Rod Smith left the team and the rest became very unhappy and all those reasons point back to one person, the one in charge. [Edited by sls on 2-27-03 10:04A]
  4. I just heard on the radio that all 4 boys games @ Lexington are scheduled for Saturday. I would guess they would start @ 4 p.m., with Milan vs Chester County being the last game @ starting @ 8:30.
  5. If you want to do a band thread join the plus membership, there is an open forum there for such things. If you are not willing to pay 12 dollars a year for that then it is not very important to you.
  6. Cagle was in foul trouble with 3 @ the 1/2. If you look @ the film the 1st one was ligite. The other 2 very questionable, as were some other phantom calls. He had inside rebounding position the 3rd one and a foul was called on him for over the back, his own man was in front of him. He started the 3rd quarter and played for maybe 2 min. as he was playing rather soft not wanting to pick up the 4th foul. At that point he was removed from the game for good. Smith picked up a lot of easy baskets in the paint that Cagle would have made somewhat more difficult. It also did not help any that Shannon was also removed at the same time and then is when the Gardner kid atarted penetrating at will and Smith and others were the benefactors.
  7. Smith did a good job. He did however get most of his points while Cagle was out of the game. Remember Cagle only played approx 12 minutes.
  8. Smith from Lex had most of his game high 26, while 6'9" Cagle was on the bench. I do not believe he would have had quite that many vs Cagle. Lex also shot 70% from the field, only making one (3) all night. Lex points came inside. Sheppards' quote in the paper was Lex won the meat of the game in the middle two quarters, something close to that. If that is the case he needs to evaluate why. He knows but will never change. Lex will go on a run for several years now as district champs. Southside & Bolivar will again go to substate.
  9. Good job tigers! Milan had Lex where they wanted them 9-0 and then Sheppard made his usual mistake and played the 2nd team until Lex went ahead. Milan came back and tied @ the 1/2. Sheppard made his next mistake by starting Cagle (3 fouls)the 2ndhalf. I noticed Gardner did not start Parker with 3. Cagle was playing careful not to pick up his 4th so Sheppard again gets mad at a player and Cagle and other starters sit the bench. Lex proceeds to go on their 17-1 run against mostly Milans 2nd team. Cagle never played again! Milan made a run but Lex made their freethrows and Milan did not. Congrats to Coach Gardner and Lex although Sheppard was the best coach Lex had.
  10. Where can I locate the brackets for regional tournaments. I understand teams have not filled the slots, just looking at potential game days.
  11. Kyle Shannon, Nathan Hulling Milan John Mccullar trenton
  12. Does anyone know when they start and who plays who and when?
  13. West Carroll is 5 miles from Milan, 25 minutes north of Jackson.
  14. 11aa automatically gives it to the coach that wins the regular season. I really do not agree with this because Sheppard will get it again and he has done the worst job of coaching this year, than any year he has been @ Milan. If you look at it though, besides Gardner @ Lexington, there is not much to pick from.
  15. Yes I am coming , Chester county right
  16. 97.7 said today @ noon game was on, along with bradford Lake county, but Humboldt Gibson county cancelled

    Hey thebeave

It does not look like zipperz is a plus member. Let the harrassment begin on him and dc74. 12.00 bucks or keep it zipped (pun intended)
  18. what is the age cutoff in AAU ? How do you know what age group a kid falls into?
  19. I was @ the game and Trenton's inside game is tough. They ar very well coached and constantly look for mis-matches. The only weakness I saw was their PG is a little hi strung. They have a better PG in Mccullar who plays the 2 so the starting PG won't mess up too much. Trenton could go a long way in the tourney. Greenfield Fan why is Matthew not starting and not even playing much anymore. I thought his size and outside shot could have helped.
  20. HAb.... that is why I said it because of name recognition, success, etc. I would not say the same about just anyone man or woman, but Pat is qualified and proven.
  21. Didn't realize what I started with saying Pat could coach anyone. I think if a player really wants to learn the game and plays to win, anyone can coach them. As far as "the choker" in the NBA, Iverson, Slay @ TN, I doubt if Pat would lower her self to recruit those people, then she would not have to coach them. For you guys that think women can't coach, it may not be basketball but basketball is similar to the gam of life, sometimes you win sometimes you lose. We all have been coached by a women at some point, our mothers, wives, Boss, co-worker, teacher, etc. If a person wants to learn that person can learn from anyone. It is up to that person. I would say there is not a high school in TN that would not take a chance on Pat S. as a boys coach.
