  1. Alot of pressure on your kid from Goodpasture. Roach won his state tournament (against a very tough field), so we'll have to see how your boy does. Good luck to him. Oh, and I don't guess you noticed Roach's 2nd place finish in the TGA State Amateur Championship either did you? If you think the field is tough in the state tournament, you should look at the field in a TGA State Amateur. There's just a little difference.
  2. Evidently not long enough. Did you see the scores from the first round of the D-II state tournament? WOW!
  3. Agreed. I was district player of the year, but I never won state. They don't even compare. It takes a special player to win the state tournament, much less win it twice in a row. Congratulations Hunter. I enjoyed watching you play on Tuesday and Wednesday at Old Fort. Good luck next year!
  4. What district is that? Every district I know of is 18 holes.
  5. I would have to say that this year the best district in the state in AAA was district 7AAA. Siegel represented this district well at the state tournament shooting 604 and finishing third. Along with this, Andrew Brock shot 71-71 and finished third, and Jason Millard shot 71-72 and finished fourth. Also, at the region 4AAA tournament, Siegel won with a 300, and the individual scores were Andrew Brock 70, Jason Millard 70, Lexus Keoninh 71, and Matt Stephens 72. A player from Tullahoma, Tyler Bailey, shot 72 in his region tournament and didn't even make it to the state tournament! That's evidence that Distrist 7AAA and Region 4AAA had to be the toughest in the state (especially when you look at the scores from the other individuals getting to the state tournament). Oh, and it doesn't look to get any easier next year. Congrats to the Stars, Andrew, Jason, and all the players from District 7AAA on their performance in the state tournament!
  6. I hope so, but I don't know. I'm a big supporter of District 7AAA and Region 4AAA, but I don't know if the best teamfrom our region is represented in the state. Siegel played well Monday in the Region Tournament, and was the best that day, and I hope they play well in the State Tournament, but I wouldn't call them a sleeper team to win the state title. Clarksville is good enough that I just don't think a "sleeper" team could beat them. It's going to take a great couple of days to beat them, and I don't know if Siegel has two "great" days in them. Hopefully they can have a good tournament and represent our region well. Good luck Stars!
  7. Sad days for Riverdale Golf. Congrats to Jason Millard and Matt Stephens on getting to the state tournament. I would have to agree with you, Clarksville definitely, now, looks like the odds on favorite to win the title again.
  8. Knoxville Farragut has couple of girls that have already committed to SEC schools. I'm not sure of their names, but one is going to Ole Miss and the other to Mississippi State. At least this is what I heard. One of them shot 72 at the CEO Roundtable Invitational in McMinnville on a day when the lowest boys' score was 72. It was a tough course that day. She's got to be one of the best, if not THE best, in the state.
  9. Well, it seems you need to get some of your facts straight. Riverdale did shoot 287 when Millard carded a 63, but it was on a par 72 (Lebanon Country Club). They also shot 287 at Indian Hills (also par 72) and 287 at Stones River Country Club (par 71). The 287 at Indian Hills included a 71 by Stephens and a 72 by Millard, a 73 by Pierson, and a 73 by Barczy. The 281 was shot at Cookeville Country Club in the Early Bird Tournament against 21 other teams (par 70). Riverdale went to McMinnville last week and shot 325 (32 shots over their average), which shows they are beatable, but they are still one of the top teams in the state. There's an awful lot of talk about Riverdale, when there are several good teams in their district. What about Siegel, Cookeville, Lebanon, and the others? They have solid programs as well. Good luck to Riverdale, and to all of the other teams working toward the state tournament!

Not possible. Nobody "has it all" and shoots 99. Sorry, but I ain't buying it.
  11. Where does Oneida play golf? practice I mean? Is there a golf course in Oneida? Being single A, if you guys can field 5 players that can play and finish 9 or 18 holes, I'd say you've got a shot at the state tournament, unless, that is, you have to play any "privates" along the way. Oh, and Zon, who really cares what you did last year?
  12. What about schools that don't recruit, for example Riverdale, Clarksville, and other public high schools. It speaks volumes about the players and coaches of these schools, since they can't recruit, and have to accept what comes their way through zoning lines. Thankfully, the TSSAA got wise and removed the "privates" from the divisions with the "publics," although I do believe that Riverdale, Clarksville, or Cookeville could play with any of these private schools.
  13. Jason Millard from Riverdale should definitely be considered when you talk about the best in the state. I don't know if you've been reading the papers, but he's been lighting it up! Here are hs scores over the past few weeks: Murfreesboro Invitational at Champion's Run - 68 Stan McNabb Invitational at Lakewood CC - 67 Early Bird Classic at Cookeville Country Club - 63 First match vs. Smyrna and LaVergne at Indian Hills GC - 71 Second Match vs. Lebanon at Lebanon Country Club - 63 Millard seems to be playing pretty good right now. Keep it up! Good luck the rest of the way! Oh, and he shot 62 at Clarksville Country Club in the second round at the Memorial to win by 6 shots. Don't forget about the rest of his team either, their team scores for those same tournaments and matches were 298, 304, 281, 287, and 287.
  14. Sarah Karper from Eagleville and Nathan Robinson from Eagleville both eclipsed the 1000 point mark, for their career, this season. Congrats to both!
