  1. I would call the front office at Bearden and ask to speak the the AD or the Principal. I can give you specifics if you need it. Every little bit helps guys.
  2. Thank you. I am considering Appy State as well. Also waiting to hear back from Furman and Presbyterian. I'm not sure, but hopefully will know soon.
  3. The administration refuses to discuss this with any of the players, including us (now) former players. They are dodging the support the whole team has shown Coach Gray, including a meeting of more than 100 current and former players in his support. They insisted on steering away form the topic, instead claiming "there is currently no teaching spot available" and "we'd rather haev a good teacher than a good coach". This is ridiculous people. That is why we have been meciocre in the past. The administration refuses to do what is right ot get our program where it needs to be. That would have included firing Maynard last year. There is no one to put the blame on but themselves if they son't do things right this time. If you're reading this and you are from Bearden or have any interest in supporting our program or Coach Ron Gray, call the administration and let them hear your voice!! Its time to quit settling for mediocrity at Bearden.
  4. I've heard Appalachian State has offered Tallent. Gulmire has visited Austin Peay and Tenn Tech and I'm not sure where else. He has been offered a walk-on at Bama.
  5. It was fun to watch, and yes Bearden would beat Halls and OR. Why doesn't OR or Halls play us anymore? They used to. They got sick of getting beat. Put US on YOUR schedule. We can't help the way our district aligns. The last 3 years, our schedule has been murderous.
  6. Are you serious? I guarantee that game drew the biggest crowd any b-ball game in the state has this year. Oak Ridge and Clinton destroy Bearden? That's laughable.
  7. Were you at the game last night??? Tony White saved our butts big time. His ball handling and free throw shooting was the difference. He dished the ball off well too on many occasions. B.J. and Rande took plenty of shots. They were off. Demonte took plenty of shots too. It was Tony's game and his teammates gave it to him. Who says that his teammate's don't like him? I'm a heck of a lot closer to these guys than your sources are I'm sure and that's completely not true. You cannot convince anybody but yourself that Parton is better than Tony. End of story. Because its bogus.
  8. You all still think Parton is better than Tony White? He dropped 51 points on a pretty dang good Farragut team last night, including 27 of 33 at the foul line. When has Parton EVER done that??? You are out of your mind...
  9. Bearden would blow up the score board on Catholic too.
  10. Bearden has never had problems with talent, physical ability, or strenth. The problems lie in another area that is now being addressed.
  11. He withdrew his name before anyone was offered....once again, yes, for the kids at Bearden. He wanted to do the right thing and stick around and turn the program around. He just plain got stiffed at Oak Ridge, but Stevens is a darn good coach isn't he? Are you saying he wasn't successful at Oak Ridge? haha Let me tell you something....the way we (Bearden) have been in the past couple of years, it would be absolutely insane not to bring in a coach with a record for success and a hate for losing. That is Ron Gray. We can't do better than him. We don't have the reputation of Central, Maryville, and Oak Ridge. He is the perfect fit for our program. When did workouts start? This week? The assistant coaches that work at the school run them. Its always been that way. Coach Taylor and Maynard were rarely there before to run them.
  12. How was Paul Maynard qualified??? He was the DC at Bearden before he got the job. Coach Gray was a higher ranking assistant in a MUCH more successful program. Coahc Gray has applied two places as HC before. Bearden the first time and then he WITHDREW his name from Mt Juliet because he wanted to do the right thing for hte kids at Bearden. There is nothing hidden except tons of potential and motivation. I'd give everything to play for him one more year.
  13. Word is true. As of 8:30 this morning, Coach Maynard resigned as Head Coach. He told us he just didn't believe he could keep the program up to par with some of the problems he has had. There was MUCH more to the situation, but that was HIS reasoning. I hope and pray that Coach Gray is the new head. I can't think of a more deserving and upright man for this job. He IS the reason Bearden is on the rise.
  14. I went to UT's camp with him. Awesome guy, great competitor. Sad to hear about this...
  15. Because one of them, we won't name names , didn't deserve it, and the voting delegation was rigged to allow that. And, as you mentioned, Nick Reveiz deserves to be on there. So does Gaston Miller, Spencer Gulmire, and TC Jennings.
  16. Don't forget Jake Slaughter from Brentwood...FB at Auburn.
  17. That's Reggie Bush hurdling a UCLA defender on his way into the endzone last Saturday. He jumped, I crap you not, from the 5 yard line at least.
  18. That's nice . "Pigman" will have that program on top in no time if he does go. He is a great coach and even better motivator and man.
  19. Speas at DC?? Are you serious? What was his credentials for that?
  20. Maryville will have to go to 5-A soon. I think that will make their runs slightly harder.
  21. Could very well be formerly of the Atomic City
  22. Coach Gray's system is multiple. We ran I most of the time this year, and even went about 50% shotgun against D-B and some other teams. The wing-T package, when blocked well, can't be stopped.
  23. Coach Gray will win a gold ball very soon in the future. Inside rumors are he's gonna get one of his wishes very soon..... He is too good of a coach not to get a head job and a state championship. The man has a character and drive I've never witnessed before this year. He WAS the reason for our success. He made us believe, and we had no choice but to follow him. I'd follow that man into anything.
