  1. It sounds like the parents decided not to wait for Tennessee's lottery to begin operations. Rediculous lawsuits like this point to the need for reform in the courts. Was the kid even injured?

    MBA Game

BGA definitely held there own against MBA. The difference in the game was sheer numbers. The BGA defense had a number of kids playing both ways. They could not hold back the MBA offense in the final quarter. Even though I picked MBA by two touchdowns, the game was much closer than the score indicated. However, I agree with the previous post. I don't think that BGA has the numbers to compete week in and week out with a super 7 schedule.

    MBA @ BGA

MBA's defensive line is very quick and the secondary covers like a blanket. I can't imagine that MBA will be overlooking BGA (especially after last year). With all due respect to BGA, I don't see them scoring more than 10. MBA by 21.

    CBHS 21- BA-6

CB56: CBHS played a great game and deserved to win. However, the game stats do show that neither offense dominated the line of scrimmage. BA had more yards and first downs. There is no question that a few of the fumbles were caused by hard hits. However, it appears that most of the turnovers should have been avoided. Good luck with the rest of the season. You've got a great team.

    CBHS 21- BA-6

CBHS did have one turnover (interception). The offense needs to get tougher mentally and physically. The defense is doing their part. CBHS had one sustained drive for a touchdown. The second score was a bit of a fluke (fumble that rolled 15 to 20 yards into the endzone), The third score occurred after BA fumbled on their own 5.

    CBHS 21- BA-6

CBHS has an excellent defense. BA defense also played well. The difference in the game was the incredible number of turnovers by BA. A couple were caused by the defense. However, the bulk of the turnovers were apparently carelessness and/or lack of focus. Congratulations to CBHS. Cory Mills is the real deal.
  7. Wes, does Plavich just enjoy tweaking you with his posts? BA by 10.
  8. That is a very good point. BA is not given credit for the hard work and dedication of the kids in general. Coach Flatt has great athletes. However, he also motivates many kids that play above their perceived abilities.
  9. Let's ease up on the class warfare rhetoric. Most true football fans realize that Oakland has been hurt by the opening of Siegel. Player numbers are down but Oakland will be back. Murfreesboro has a great football tradition. The kids for Oakland worked hard. Unfortunately, the numbers were against them. They will be back.
  10. Other than the small group of garbage chanting kids, the Oakland fans were great. By the way, Ty Ford and Ryan White are both Freshmen. The future at running back for BA looks very bright.
  11. From a BA fan, good luck to both teams. Let's hope that the turnovers are held to a minimum and both teams leave it all on the field.

    MBA 17, Trinity 13

Fisher was poised and impressive tonight. The defense was aggressive and dominant for most of the game. A lot of the Trinity yardage was due to MBA's prevent defense late in the quarter.
  13. DJBALLA, I suggest you refer back to the MBA motto of Gentleman, Scholar, Athlete. You're obviously missing one of the three. The MBA kids that I know would not spew that nonsense.
  14. One of three things is true about the post. 1. It is a joke and the author is trying to stir up trouble. 2. The author is insane. 3. The author just awoke from a coma and has not quite gathered his mental faculties.
  15. The BA freshman class did beat MBA as 8th graders. They are a phenomenal group of athletes (basketball, football and track). Both first team defenses for MBA and CPA looked good last night. It did seem that MBA was playing conservative offensive football. Kudos to CPA, they held up well. Good luck to MBA against Trinity.

    BA scouts

Talk is cheap and so are those who make baseless accusations. Let's close the topic and move on to something productive. There are a lot of great schools (public and private). Let's play football.

    BA scouts

Kids come to BA from every part of Nashville. Are you saying that Una kids have no right to leave the confines of Antioch? One would assume that if a kid comes to BA from Una and has a positive experience, then he might suggest to a friend that BA would be a good place to attend school. But of course that certainly could never happen (sarcasm intended). Don't you think it is also a little narrow minded to assume that someone from Una would only come to BA to play sports? Perhaps some of those kids have found that BA is a great place for academics as well as athletics. Once again, if you have an accusation that is supported by facts, then bring the facts to TSSAA. If BA or any other school is operating outside of the rules then they need to be held accountable.

The recruiting debate will go on until the end of time. It is amazing how the rumor mill will spin even the most innocent of situations into a controversy of epic proportions. If someone has viable information about illegal activities then report it to the proper authorities. Otherwise leave it alone. Most of these discussions are a result of nothing more than inuendo. This could just as easily be the result of an off the cuff remark by someone with a connection to BA telling a kid's parent "have you ever thought about coming to BA". I tend to agree with the previous post. The top schools don't need to recruit. Success breeds success. Whether its sports or academics, kids are attracted to BA without the need for inducement.
  19. You might want to check with all the teams that Nike Select destroyed in the AAU sub state tournament, AAU state tournament, YBOA sub state and YBOA state tournament. Those teams might have a slightly different opinion.
  20. this is the 14 year old team.
  21. Does anyone have the results from the 14U state tournament in Lynchburg?
  22. In response to Skywade, you can't be serious. By no stretch of the imagination are they one player away from competing with not only Nike but many other of the top teams. This is not to knock the Pacesetters. They have some fine ball players. However, I don't believe that they won a game at the sub-state. Nike, Wildcats, Future, Shooting Stars, Ballerz, etc. are at a different level.
