  1. Columbia plays Franklin Co tonite (Monday) @ Columbia
  2. I should be considered an honorary member of the C-wood and Waynesboro area. I feel as though I have lived there this year. I have been a member from the get-go and dont have nearly as many good marks as you do. LOL! Everyone keep up the good work and lets support coacht as much as we can.

  4. Bob Ley was reported to be in town and taking interviews for a special report on ESPN's "Outside the Lines" on the Keltner's alleged point shaving. The two-part episode will air in next week. Interviewees include Eugene Grinder who was quoted as saying that "this could be the biggest scandal to rock the Lewis County sports front since the transfer of the top notch athletes to Columbia Academy." Albert Ellison, former coach of the Keltner duo said that he would not release any information without the payment of a Snickers bar. His story will be told in a future update of the story after the investigation is finished. In a rare interview a man who would only go on the basis of his identity would be kept a secret said that he vowed to never play again because of the Keltner's insistence that he would never get the next game and would always cheat the score when he did play. He also said that he has stopped playing because of lack of competition. More excerpts from interviews later on. Stay tuned to these surprising developments and keep an eye on ESPN for further details.

    shortstops

Who are some of the best Tennessee high school shortstops? I have heard there is a Stinson girl at Columbia Central that has great range and a cannon of an arm. Has anyone witnessed this girl or any other?
  6. I would like to hear the defense from Keltner on the implied allegations of point shaving the opponents team.
  7. I would have to say anyone and Drew were a good combo. The Keltner's on one team are tough too. If they are off of their game a little they will always cheat on the score to beat you. It sure was fun to play with them but I never wanted to play against them. Score would be 10-8 and after two baskets by them it would be 20-10. Let me know when the legends are playing and I will see if I can come in. Might be tough since the Lady Lions that I help coach are 23-1 right now but I am sure I could find some time to drop in.
  8. Just remember that I was the first to say this summer that Jana would be a great player for the next four years at Loretto and another four at some college. Jessisca Green isnt a bad player either. I dont see any other two freshman making such an impact on any team in the state. That goes for west, middle, and east. A little off subject but there is a good guard for Chester Co that is a freshman. She is going to be a girl to keep an eye on for the next four years.
  9. The Freed-Hardeman basketball camp is always great. Great individual teaching. If you have any questions you can email me at phinson96@yahoo.com [Edited by sportsman on 12-20-02 11:02P]
  10. Are there any good players or games going on on Monday, December 9th? If so list the players and the game times
  11. I knew that Jana and Jessica would make a huge impact on this team. I only caught the second half of the Mt. Pleasant game but could tell that this team is the real thing. They have some good athletes at all of the positions. I really hope that they do well this year. I posted on this board many months ago that Cross and Green would be some of the best freshman to come on the scene in quite a while. Now they are making me look like a prophet. I only wish the best for these two girls and their team. It is going to be a great four years to be playing basketball at Loretto. Good Luck Jana and Jessica from a coach that was LUCKY to have you on my team at camp this summer!
  12. I hope this team has a great year. I believe that they can do well from what I saw this summer at the FHU camp. I loved coaching some of the girls and my heart goes out to Beverly just like it has since the injury happened. Good Luck from one of your coaches at the FHU camp. I cannot wait to come and see you all play.
  13. To bad you all are 2nd best in the county behind collinwood. We could possibly average 6'5" with our starting 5. What are the little midgets from waynesboro going to do about that?
  14. Kari Bishop from Ezell Harding signed with the Freed Hardeman Lady Lions today. Another great pickup for the Lady Lions.
  15. pantherman, I will make it as soon as I can. The mid-week games are bad for me. Just too much going on with this 5-0 Freed team on my hands. I can make some weekends if you were to play then. Keep me updated on the going on's. I still have some conditioning to take care of too. Dont know if I can run the floor as well since intramural basketball is now only one semester.
  16. Congrats to Fairview for a HUGE win over Huntingdon. Hope you do well the rest of the playoffs.
  17. I have basketball practice till 6:30 tonite. I won't be able to make it, but I will be there sometime soon. Keep me updated on the nights that you play.
  18. Way to go Panthers! Good job on keeping that tradition alive. Now lets make way for some new territory in the playoffs. The real season is about to begin! Good luck and best wishes! Don--doesnt that make Lewis' record 5-0 in the conference? Just wondering. Thanks for the detailed report. Wish I could have been there in person. I was just busy watching the Lady Lions win their first game of the season. 1-0!!
  19. There have been some good games between these two. There was a time when this region was always decided at the last game of the season just as it is this year. With Loretto's reciever out and Lewis seeming to hit their stride, I am going to pick the Panthers (going out on a limb) in a rout. Lewis 42 Loretto 14 [Edited by sportsman on 10-29-02 2:38P]
  20. sources tell me that bishop is close to deciding. the beavers twins are also being considered by some schools. keep the names coming.
  21. so is an old man like me going to get the opportunity to play anytime? congrats on the win last night. always good to beat a viking team.
  22. Give me some players that have not verbally committed or some that are good enough for the college ranks and not being looked at. Sorry for the misunderstandig
  23. What are the chances of some people playing this Friday night? I thought that since the football team was off this week that maybe some guys would like to play. Where do you all play and is there room for one more has been to join the crowd. Remember I will be driving in from an hour and a half away. So if someone says that we can play then I want to make sure some people are there. Where are these games taking place?
  24. Who are some unsigned seniors that deserve a look? Maybe they have been overlooked or just haven't decided on a school yet. Please keep this list seniors only. There is a method to my madness with all the threads started.
  25. Who are some of the freshmen that will contribute to their team? Two to watch are Jana Cross and Jessica Greene in Loretto. These girls are some of the best I have seen in a long time.
