I still think Huntingdon is the only team NOT intimidated by Milan in 2A west tn. That will play a big role next week.

I'll say Huntingdon by 7 or possibly 10 with the home field advantage, which in the past has been huge in this game.

Milan scheduled jcm and covington because they knew those teams were down this year.

Just who exactly has Milan played thats good? JCM is way down this year. Was it Martin, Henry Co., who, I can't remember? This will be a good game on paper and I hope I can attend the second half.

I am in no way slighting the rebs but in that game huntingdon lived inside mckenzies 40 and had 3 or 4 tds called back. They totally dominated that game regardless of score. Hayes probably would have made some diffence in the second meeting but Huntingdons depth really wore mckenzie down from what I saw.

Yea, i'll agree mckenzie is tough but 2 years ago huntingdon was not very good period and last year when they got upset by Fairview it really left that bracket wide open. In my opinion they were far better than anyone in that bracket just because of sheer speed but they overlooked a team and it cost them. I think you'd have to agree with that.

yes, they do have weapons. I would like to see a matchup with someone who could lock down on walker and match up with milan upfront to defend the run. This would be a classic and it could be tonight.

i'll agree, but what milan does on both O and D is not earth shattering. They have the athletes to implement what is actually a rather simple concept of football that others who might try to do the same thing simply can't do. There key ingredient is speed. Hand it to the fast guy and let him run. Play an attacking style defense that doesn't give up the long ball. Speed allows them to do these things when someone like camden would get embarrassed trying the same thing.

Are you proposing Milan has no talent? There is a reason for those state championships and yes its talent mainly not coaching. Yes, Henry Co. should beat 2A schools, their prob. lies in not getting the athletes out for football. If they did, they would win. More numbers mean more athletes, athletes = win.

Actually just looking at the enrollment numbers, Milan should beat the heck out of all 2A competition. They are a big fish in a small pond. Huntingdon is a small 2A school who just happen to beat milan on a fairly consistent basis considering what Milan does to other west. tn. teams. Its pretty much a matter of numbers.

In 1998 victor kidd jumped offsides twice on milans final desperation play right in front of the huntingdon sideline and side judge. So flagrant a granny woman could have seen it, I mean he went two steps offsides and tried to reset twice! I'll never forget it, seeing him and the Huntingdon coaches looking for the flag on the sideline. How that ref made it out of that stadium alive i'll never know. I remember seeing one of Huntingdons younger coaches absolutely abusing that ref on the sideline .

Huntingdon has a very rich tradition. Pudor started it all. Hard nosed kids, usually outsized and outmanned but with the fight of a pit bull. In Huntindon, men like Pudor are looked on with the reverence of a president. Thats who he is. He cultivated these young men and formed them into great teams, passed this on to Paul Ward etc. Its still amazes me everytime I look at Huntingdons program at just how few head coaches they have had and for the most part how they all fit that same mold.

Against Bruceton Huntingdon pulled their first at the end of the half. I know coach mansfield, and although the jackson sun painted a picture of huntingdon running up the score on lexington, I am sure this was not the case. Its obvious the sun is not a fan of the mustangs.

I think everyones overlooking westview. 3 of their losses come to excellent teams in Milan, Obion, and Crockett Co. I expect a war this week against Huntingdon, an old rival. Don Coady tends to field very fundamentally strong teams.

well, I hate to argue but the ref who made that call works at p@g and admitted he missed it but humans make mistakes. And no, your film didn't show it inbounds, sheesh you people kill me. If you play football then U of all people should know that making all state is very political in its nature and most AP writers don't even vote. It means next to nothing.

UHHH, I actually saw this game. It was 14-13 milan when Huntingdon was home cooked on a pass out of bounds which led to a td right before the half. I think the two teams are very evenly matched and you do to but won't admit it.

I don't know if we'll win, just keep playing hard, and play the game for four quarters. Thats always been a constant for us. Just bring your best game to the table, lay it on the line, and have no regrets when its over. GO TIGERS
