  1. Several years ago, the VU/UT game was the last weekend in November. They moved it to the second to last weekend about 2 years ago. That's where the problem lies.
  2. I asked a reliable D2 source and they said that the games will not be at Vanderbilt this year and that this was going to be an issue every other year with the UT/Vandy game being moved back a week and now on Vanderbilt's campus again. Remember, they must find a place to play 3 games, not just one AND the Clinic Bowl/Vanderbilt sponsorship is still in tact for the D2 games. Therefore, I do not see the game being out of Nashville anytime soon. The Junior Chamber in Nashville offers a lot of manpower for these games and probably make them possible. Otherwise, they would probably being playing at MTSU with everyone else at 7:OO in the morning. So looking at your alternatives: 1) never would happen with TSU playing there and the possiblity of tearing up the field - no way 2) D2 schools don't want to wait 2 extra weeks to play 3) could be a possibility for Chatt. except for the Clinic Bowl deal 4) a non D2 school might be in the playoffs that weekend 5) a thursday night game might not draw .....again, the D2 AD's do not want to extend the season from what this person told me 6) could be a possibilty but the TSSAA wants them all at one site 7) ha 8) ha MBA's field is probably the only one that could handle the crowd that is centrally located
  3. Vanderbilt is home against UT that day (not at the Colesium) so your guess is probably right
  4. Please explain - The Tigers Select is really the old Memphis Elite/Blackhawks , correct ?? And two players off the Shelbyville team this year played on the TN Lady Tiger team that beat Shelbyville last year ?? It is confusing to follow.
  5. I am slightly confused. Let's say I am in the 8th grade, I live in Antioch and I am a really good player. If I wanted to drive every day to Shelbyville to go to school and play basketball my freshman year then I could ??? Would I have to pay since I do not live in the county and if so how much ?? Is this what Dye does (lives in Lincoln County but plays for Shelbyville ??). Just want to clarify if that's the rule. I know for a transfer it has to be a "change of residence" but if that was a situation where it were a freshman then what ?
  6. Is there a website that shows game times and brackets for all of the games in this tourney ??
  7. I am sure Baker is a very good player but Jada Mincy was the MVP of the state tournament last year. Just setting the record straight - maybe she'll get hers some day. Mincy won it even though her team lost in the finals.
  8. Sorry Kentucky...not meant to be harsh but this is the best you got ???? Even if they do put some points on the board or even win they look very unathletic at certain positions especially the line and s l o w
  9. Serious question - does anyone happen to know the satellite coordinates for CSS or this game in particular. Out of the state and would like to watch
  10. Shakeya Johns (Antioch) had 17 and Keke Stewart (Oak Ridge) added 16 but it was not enough as the Tennessee Lady Tigers fell to the #7 nationally seeded Philadelphia Lady Belles today 72-68 in overtime to send the Tigers to the loser's bracket. After trailing by 10 in the first half, the Tigers rallied and cut the margin to 5 (25-20) at intermission. They took over in the next 10 minutes and led by as much as 10 with four minutes left to go but 3 quick buckets by the Lady Belles in 45 seconds cut the lead to 4. With 30 seconds remaining and up by 3, the Lady Tigers made one of two foul shots making the lead 4. Philadelphia raced down the floor and made a three in the deep corner cutting the lead to 1 with 14 seconds left. Keke Stewart converted only one of two free throws after she was fouled making it a two point contest. The Lady Belles again raced down the floor penetrated and made a hanging 6 foot shot with 5 seconds remaining. The game went to overtime. In overtime, the Tigers held a four point lead early but costly turnovers became the difference. A three pointer at the buzzer on a set play fell off the rim with once second left and that was it. (A foul ensued with .1 seconds left and the Belles made a free throw). All in all a great battle between 2 very good teams. The Tigers made the state proud with their play today. The Belles have several future D1 players and may be the team to beat in the end.Next for Tennessee is a loser's bracket game tomorrow possibly against the Sport Shop at 10:15 in the Dunn Center.
  11. For those of you who live nearby or a short distance from Clarksville, the AAU national 14s are getting down and dirty as the elite 8 begins this afternoon and it might be worth the trip. There's some incredible talent at this event including a 6'4 post from the New York's Roberto Clemente Gazelles who has registered three triple doubles thus far in the tourney. Other great teams include probably the favorite the Georgia Magic from Atlanta, the Maryland Mystics, Philadelphia Belles, and the Eastbay Explosion. The Tennessee Lady Tigers based in Nashville are in the elite 8 and play the Belles today at 3:45 at the Dunn Center. This contest will be the first of 4 games on the big court in the elite 8. Admission is $8.00
  12. Columbia Central's Deandrea Bullock poured in 17 points while Keisha Brown (Clarksville), Keke Stewart (Oak Ridge), and Kenzie Rich (Monroe County KY) had 8 each as the TN Lady Tigers defeated the Texas Hoopin' Angels today in the round of 16 game at Kenwood High 47-44. The Tigers trailed 23-20 at the half but took over in the second and led by as much as 12 late. The Hoopin Angels from Houston rallied but fell short as they missed a three at the buzzer to tie. Next up is an Elite 8 game tomorrow afternoon at 3:45 against the national #7 seed Philadelphia Lady Belles at the APSU Dunn Center.
  13. Her name is Jasmine Wright and she plays at Knoxville Carter
  14. The Tennessee Lady Tigers had a balanced attack led by Keke Stewart (Oak Ridge) with 17, Kenzie Rich (Monroe County KY) with 12 and Alex Ross (Columbia Central) with 11 to roll over Midland Michigan 77-61 to advance to the round of 16. Deandrea Bullock (Columbia Central) had 9 and Shakeya Johns (Antioch) had 8. The Tigers will play the Texas Hoopin' Angels at 1:45 tomorrow at Kenwood High Shelbyville Sport Shop won and will play the tournament's #2 national seed Georgia Magic Tomorrow
