  1. The answer is simple. They have one of the best players in the region and maybe the state in Shawn Kelly. How do you expect to win with your best offensive weapon on the bench? You can read between the lines on why they are so bad just by mentioning that. Springfield has tons of talent and utilizes their talented skill players. Farmer is one heck of a playmaker. Great coaching staff has the Jackets in a great position right now.
  2. Now Now Bama4Life... I would hope that you wouldn't think previous scores against common opponents would have anything at all to do with the outcome of these two teams Fri. night. The score was actually 21-9 and I don't believe these two teams played against each other this year. This is the playoffs afterall and the loser goes home...so there's a little more incentive than in the regular season. I know Beech (your team) is the favorite but I like the Eagles chances in this one.
  3. Northeast wins this game!!! Defense is too good and they have way too much athleticism!! NE wins 21-7.
  4. Indy Beech Brentwood Hillsboro Franklin Wilson Central Page White House Henry Co. Lebanon Moeller 45 total points
  5. When you follow up your statements with the phrase "I know that sounds crazy", it most definitely is crazy. I caught the game on Ctv tonight and Rossview ran for right at 400 total rushing yards. Actually NE's last touchdown came with a minute left with the 2nd and 3rd teamers in for Rossview, so I guess it could've been worse. Dont make excuses for your team. I havent read any other posts yet, so I havent heard anyone dogging Northeast. Accept the game for what it was and move on. Anyways, Northeast is one of those scary teams. They have athletes all over the field. If they can find a way to come together and play fundamental football they could be very dangerous. Don't know anything about Columbia other than they usually are physical. If Northeast can get their speedy athletes to click on all cylinders this could be a close one.
  6. You know...it might help if you read all the posts...not just the ones you don't like. The first post by Big Red stated "post a lot"...I didn't see anything in his post about predicitons. "This is a freedom of speech website where you can voice questions, concerns, state predictions, or just talk about football in general." Again...I don't recall saying Rossview is my team...just merely stating it's nice to see them do well when no one ( I am assuming you are included) has anything good to say about them. It's no big deal and I am sure this is a dead issue that should now be ressolved...unless, however, you want to continue to nit-pick.
  7. If you had read was was written...my post was a response on the negativity...not a prediction.
  8. Looks like you all gave Rossview some nice bulletin board material. I'm sure they appreciate all the negativity. It's nice to see them do well against all the odds and nay-sayers. Kenwood is a very good team with a lot of class players. I hate to see their season end, but Rossview is a well deserving team with a lot of the same. No one even mentioned Rossview this year unless they had something bad to say so I am glad they have a chance now to rub it in those individuals faces.
  9. I think these tackles need to be taken with a grain of salt. Extra tackles are often given to boost stats and impress fans. This is the sad truth of football today. I read in the newspaper where Northwest claims Chinetti had 24 solo tackles along with another player having 20 + tackles in ONE game against Northeast this year. Let's use our heads for a second. Are there really 45+ plays that Northeast actually ran the whole game. In addition, were these two players the only ones with tackles? It is instances like these that make me ignore the whole tackles stat. After going back and watching the NE/NW film... Chinetti had 3 tackles in the first half...one of them being iffy. There is no way two guys have over 20 solo tackles in one game. There are just not enough plays being ran. That is just one team. There are many more teams doing the same thing. I just wouldn't put much stock into some of the numbers that are being put up.
  10. 1995- Clarksville Northeast vs. Academy BA went on to win this state Quarterfinal game 7-3. Northeast was leading 3-0 before halftime with a few seconds left. A hail mary pass was called back due to a Northeast pass interference. One play left...no time on the clock....BA threw one final hail mary into the endzone. The Northeast sophmore defender fell down leaving his receiver wide open. BA went into the half leading 7-3. Both defenses shut each other down in the second half leaving that the final score. We at Northeast were counted out from the beginning, but both teams knew it was going to be close. By far, the biggest crowd I have ever seen at a high school football game. Never again will I be in an environment that intense and action packed. Ask any member of either team or any fan that came to the game and they will tell you this was the best high school football game ever!!
  11. Rick Butler when he was at Clarksville Northeast '94 and '95. Northeast had one winning season in school history before he got there. Took them to 8-3 his first year and then 12-1 his last year losing 7-3 on a hail mary to Brentwood Academy. Then went to Oakland where there were 0-10 the year before and took them to a 5-5 season. The following year they won the state championship, granted he wasn't the head coach that year, but he built that program up. Coach Butler is by far the best motivating coach there ever was. He was/is all about his players. He's now a college defensive coordinator so obviously his talent was recognized. All hail to a hero to all that played for him. Got to give up recognition to his assistants as well. Coach Chuck Daniel by far the best position coach a player/coach could ask for. Both are energetic and enthusiastic.
  12. Coachchris and eaglefan, Is Mix ok and will he be able to go Friday? Mix, Wilkerson and Brown could be a deadly trio for you on Friday. Just keep feeding your two tailbacks the ball and it could be lights out. Remember you guys are one of four teams representing our region. A few people from the other region have predicted they will shut out our region this Friday. Make a note of that in your pre-game speech. Good luck!!
  13. I'd like to know myself why he said Travis was one of his. Sounds like someone got a little carried away about how good a coach he is and started claiming athletes he didn't coach. Anyway...if no one else knows Bird...we know. And it's Stephens not Stevens, which is the NW coach's last name.
  14. Hillsboro over White House Pearl Cohn big over Shelbyville (Look out for PC in the playoffs) Stratford big over Columbia (Stratford just has too many athletes) Northwest over Hillwood
