The Commando Classic Softball will be the same week-end as it has been in the past which is the opening week-end of the season. The dates are March 15, 16, and 17. The 15th is optional and we will have a few teams play on the 14th also. Great way to get some early season games. The Hendersonville High School Commando Classic will be March 15, 16, and 17. Last year we had a few teams play on Wednesday and we might do it again this next year. I will send out applications to the teams that came this past season in August or September and give them about two weeks and then will open it up to new teams. I have had several calls from teams that were not in it this past year that would like to get in, but I will give the first slots to teams that played this year.

I would like to thank the schools that played in our tournament this year. I think we had a great field of teams and most everything went smooth for the most part. Just about all of the pools went to the runs scored tie breaker to seed the tournament. There were alot of good teams and alot of good games. I would also like to thank our parents were all of the hard work this week-end. It is very hard to pull off a tournment this size and it could not be done without great parents. I am getting the packets ready to go out to the Coaches and will probably mail them in the morning. I got a call from St. Cecilia about an hour ago telling me they will not be able to play because of spring break. I already have all of the pools and brackets complete, so if anyone knows of a team that would like to play have them get in contact with me asap. I have called Springfield, because they e-mailed me a couple of weeks ago that they may be interested. These people that get in and then get out of tournaments should try putting one together. It is not really a big problem if you get out a month or two before, but two weeks or a few days before really causes problems.

If you have not sent your rosters or your list of teams that you do not want to play in please do so as soon as possible. I am currently working on pools and need this information. Also, if there are two more teams that would like to get in I will add two teams. I can use the Vol State field Saturday morning and will be able to add 4 more teams. I had a waiting list, but two of the teams on the waiting list have already committed to other games. I will not add one, but I will add two if I get them. Add Bradley County to the tournament. This fills the tournament up. If any other teams would like to play call and I will start a waiting list. The last few years a couple of teams had to get out for different reasons. I will send out Motel information and other information in the next few days. If you have any questions give me a call.

Add karns and Gibbs to the tournament. This puts the total at 53. I can take 3 more and possibly 7. Three makes it alot easier because we can play in 2 parks and not play anywhere else.

I got a call from Brentwood Academy and they want in the tournament. I have gotten permission from Dave LeMarbre and can use Veterans Park on Wednesday. If we have enough teams that would like to play 2 extra games on Wednesday I will start the tournament then. I will not charge the teams any extra, just charge a gate and hope that covers the umpires. If you would be interested let me know and I will start a list. We could take up to 12 teams.
