  1. Not saying one way or another. Just a good young football coach who is available. And besides, apparently it offends some that I post things, because "they know". But wherever that coach ends up he's not going to have a Ty Simpson to run his offense.
  2. This guy is going to be a really good hire for somebody. Just saying. https://www.thunderboltradio.com/2024/01/10/westview-football-coach-jarod-neal-steps-down/
  3. I am told it's more than just leave, that he has been retired.
  4. If Bearden and Farragut can be competitive in football, there is no reason why HVA can't be. Bearden and Farragut deal with the same issues that HVA does in terms of private schools getting some of their zoned students and other sports coaches frowning on "their' kids playing football. No excuses for HVA. That's just a cesspool right now. And fortunately for the students in that school, some needed changes are coming if rumors are accurate.
  5. The first domino may have fallen yesterday, if the rumors are true.
  6. Hearing that the white smoke should be coming from Litton's soon. Interesting hire, if true.
  7. Yep. This is accurate, from what I have been told. Have to already be in the system.
  8. Might be some news on HVA, and I am not talking football coach, by week's end or the first of next week.
  9. Interesting to hear that some supporters/alums apparently went Schiano Sumday on one of the alleged candidates. As i have said before, what happens in college football eventually filters down to high school football.
  10. I think i,was pretty clear on that.
  11. Not the one I was referencing. LA is a very good football coach, but the one I was referencing made the decision to stay where he is instead of going back across the river. LA knows the landscape in Knox County. He'll be fine.
  12. Word I am hearing is that the former head coach at Central either already has or will be brought on as the Fulton DC.
  13. Understand. Wasn't talking about him in particular. Just about the potential 1 transfer rule in general. He's going to have to move to the AC zone to be eligible at this point.
  14. That QB did enroll at AC, from what i was told by somebody close. The thing to remember is that if the TSSAA passes the one-time transfer rule, the transfer still has to be approved by the school district where the student wants to transfer in to. Different districts have different criteria to qualify for a transfer in from out of zone.
  15. Hearing that this process is progressing quickly. If what I am hearing is true, South Doyle folks should be really happy.
  16. Breathe in, breathe out, Double S. Never said nor insinuated that Oak Ridge did anything wrong. Not an OR "hater", and in fact I am one of the biggest supporters of your coach out there. If my grandsons are still playing football when they get to high school, he is one of those at the very top of my list of whom I would want them to play for from a character and leadership perspective. Point being that every school has benefitted from out of zone and transfer students when it comes to football. Even Oak Ridge. And on the number of transfers, Knox County is a school district of some 65K students that go to 14 different high schools when they are of high school age. Oak Ridge is a district of about 4,500 students, with one high school. Of course, there are going to be more students transferring within the system in Knox County than in the Oak Ridge system. Transfers happen for a lot of reasons.
  17. Just about every area school does, Double S. It's that time of year. Your guys have had a few key transfers come in over the past few years, too. Be careful about pointing fingers.
  18. "Formally" and "on the record" being key statements. Believe what you want, but you are only kidding yourself if you don't understand that off the record discussions take place during the process in many schools statewide.
  19. I think some people don't really understand how the process actually works. Just because one hasn't officially applied doesn't mean that there hasn't been contact. In fact, most high-profile coaches don't officially apply until they have basically been asked to because they are the likely choice. In this day and tie with the FOI act the media has access to the names of every single person who applies, and most head coaches don't want it known that they are looking at options, just in case things don't work out there. And I can't say that they are wrong for doing it that way.
  20. I don't worry about Keyboard Cowards like him. He's off having fun and yuking it up with the rest of the Legion of the Miserable now.
  21. Yeah. Not a shot at AE, but Central is a much better job for several reasons.
  22. I'm not sure that's a bad thing. No reason to rush at this point. Be sure the correct decision is being made. Gives all parties a little time to think about what the best thing to do for the program is. And by the way, I am hearing that the former head coach at Central has landed as the DC at a school close by.
  23. Hearing 3 names in play, one local and two blasts from the past in Knox County. Also hearing that the process has been put on hold until after school resumes in January.
  24. HVA is just not a good football job. Football is way down the sports priority list there. Until the discouraging of students playing multiple sports ends from some of the coaches there football is going to be playing shorthanded. No offense to some guys, but they need a younger coach with some energy instead of an older coach looking to find a place to end a career. With HVA being one of the top 10 or so high schools in Tennessee in terms of enrollment there is absolutely no excuse for not being competitive in football.
