HAHA well check any media outlet you like. But i know for fact jordan did not even have 70 yards vs. mckenzie! This may be why jordan has 2,700 yards rushing. They add fifty yards to every game. And bruceton as a team had 109 yards rushing. edwards had 7 carries for 34 yards, bryant had 2 carries for 7 yards, and matlock had 3 yards only on one carry thou. True mckenzie has good receivers just like brucetion has a good line. However carr last year had around 2,200 yards passing and his top three recievers graduated. The offensive that carr leads averages more yards per snap than jordan averages per carry. thats the truth. That includes incomplete passes runs from the one yard line, and every time mckenzies O is on the field. I also do not think jordan will ever play an offensive play in college. I think he will be a strong safety or linebacker. Probally will make the move to linebacker because he is not quite fast enough to play db at college level. He is not the best player in one a and i can not say that carr is because i have not seen everyone play.

How fast the bruceton fans forget. They saw the best player nominated for this award play this year. It was not chad jordan. He is a great player. But Carr from Mckenzie is on a whole another level. Bruceton had 16 starters back this year from a very good team last year. Mckenzie only had 4 starters back from a good team that won the region last year. They lost their best lineman in the first scrimage of the year for the season. In the second game of the year the team with more experiance and thought to be the best team in the region and the nations leading rusher was beaten 35-0. The best player on the field by far and the biggest difference in the game was derek carr. Jordan had 23 carries for 65 yards and no touchdowns. Carr was 8-10 passing for 176 yards and one score and had 8 carries for 86 yards. Mckenzie did not "stack" the box either as some people say. They played their base defense with 7 in the box. Oh and in case you were thinking there were a lot of turnovers by bruceton they were 2 for 7 passing with two ints and mckenzie had two fumbles lost, so each team had two. I really hope that bruceton and mckenzie both win so that we can see these great players on the field again and hopefully remind people in the area who the best player really is. As i have said before, this is not a knock on jordan but i honestly believe that any team with a winning record in our region gave their starting running back as many carries as jordan they would all have well over 2000 yards rushing. Jordan had nearly 40 carries against south fulton, to compare carr had four rushes for four touchdowns and 65 yards against south fulton. Anyways with all that being said i do think that jordan will win the mr football award based only on stats. I just want to point out who the "best player" is. BigDawg or any other gleason or bruceton fan after seeing both teams play. How do you think they match up? Which team is more physical? Who is better on offense and defense? How do you think the game will go?

I am really glad to see that Carr from Mckenzie is on the list because he is no doubt the best player of the three finalist in 1 a. I have seen all three play and there is no comparison. But more importantly i hope is the most vauable player at the state championship game, of course in a winning effort. But honestly he would be happy just winning, no awards or even mention of his name would bother him. Gook luck to all who were nominated.

Last year should have no bearing on this years mr football award. I believe that most people who have seen jordan and carr play would agree that carr is the better player. As i said before the award should go to the best player in class one a football. Stats can be very misleading. I honestly believe that any tail back in region 7 on a team with a winning record would rush for over 2,000 yards on the number of carries that jordan has. I really hope that the sports writers pick the best players for the award and not who has the best stats.

Carr from Mckenzie should be in the discussion. The award is for the best player in class one a football, not who has the best stats. I have seen Jordan and dailey play. They are great players but are not as good as Carr. His stats may not jump out at you but he doesn't have to do much to win football games. He is 100-185 passing with 1648 yards and 16 passing touchdowns and 5 ints. He also has 42 rushes for 314 yards and 10 touchdowns. In a game vs. Bruceton and the great chad jordan, Jordan had 23 carries for 65 yards and no touchdowns while carr was 8 for 10 passing for 176 yards and a touchdown with no ints and 8 carries for 86 yards. If mckenzie plays well in the playoffs he will end up passing for well over 2000 yards, possibly will end up leading west tenn in passing yards.... Unlike Jordan who gets 30 to 40 carries a game vs. west carroll, south fulton, lake county, gleason, Fayette Academy and greenfield. Carr was standing on the side lines cheering on his teamates in the second half of most of these games. Now i know people will post that he played in the fourth qt. vs gleason and greenfield but i assure it wasnt much and mckenzie didnt pass the ball more than six times in the second half of these games. Anyways just a thought. I know that all of these kids are great players and will go on to many future successes in football and life.

So your saying your girls team runs the score up on other teams, dose of own medicine comment. I guess that is ok. Gleason would probaly beat McK every Friday night that they actually dont play in your mind. The only time it counts though is when they play. Did they play the whole game against Geason? Maybe you can do something only the girls in your school can do and win the state championship since you can beat everybody when your not playing them.

My question for all the posters that keep posting on MCK runnning up score, when did Gleason put subs in against Middleton 46-0, West Carroll 42-0 and SFulton 40-7? What about Greenfield 54-13 vs SF. 36-7 West Carroll and 30-8 vs Gleason? Is McK suppose to play only half a game or just 1st qt against teams, I bet that will have them ready to play 4 qts in play-offs. Lets see McK wins and runs up the score because they use to be AA and they have more kids than the rest of the schools. I am sure the amount of students they have gives them 25 or more better athletes than the other schools in the region have. I know that a couple years ago West Carroll had more kids than McK and are close to them now. Now u McK athletes quit lifting and running during off season and dont practice hard or try to get better because you hurt some feelings of people because hard work brings success. No wait the posters are saying cause bigger school.

Why everyone keeps saying McK is running up the score, I beleive Gleason beat Middleton over 40 and was throwng fades in 4th quarter and starters still in. Also last year McK ave 46 points a game in region play, this year they are ave 45 in reg play. Nobody complained last year Now we did give up 10 pts a game and this year it is 6 not much differnce. In fact last year I dont think anybody played within 4 TDs of MCk in region this year UC MCK was decided at end of game. Yes McK is better than last year but they still play there B team and freshman when mercy rule kicks in. Hard work makes a difference look and see how many games the Jr and Srs won in Jr high. Not many. This year Soph and Fosh class are the one that started winning at that level. Work harder if you want to compete, the harder you work the less excuses you have to make.

Why 10teamdistric do you want to keep downing McK Since 2000 they have won 72 games, been to play off every year,went to semi twice with 385 students during that time. All of the non region games they play are against AA schools and when they were AA non games were against AAA schools. If we say 72 win since 2000 that comes out to over 9 wins a year. That ave did not come just from last two years. I guess we could try to get the TSSAA to add another class and have it for schools with less than 200 students. Would not have many schools in it but that might be answer you want. Maybe we could start trying to come up with a way you pick 10 teams to play and that is your region and state championship. Go back and look I dont think McK is in the top 10 in enrollment in single A when last set of numbers were taken. The classes are broke down so there is approx. the same number of schools in each class. Heck you should be happy your program has improved alot over the last few years and it should keep getting better but dont blame McK for playing A ball tht is where they are classified period.

Those are not the current numbers they dont even have all the current coaches listed at school look up JCM thats right that have over 1600 students there dont they. Last I saw in j sun they were down to under 800. How long has Madison and Liberty been around thats how long its been since JCM had 1600 students Know the facts

Both schools were under the cut off number last time I checked. Why does McK have so many kids is townspeople, coaches, parents etc that support the program. Has McK always had that many kids out or has it started over last 7 years? I would say come see what these kids do to play, see the time and effort the High school and Jr high coaches put into the program. That is the differnce, McK won when they were the smallest school in AA made it to semis two years in a row. UC won a bunch of games when they were one of the smallest in AA then struggled for two years. No matter how you look at it someone is going to be biggest and smallest in each classification. If someone should be complaining about numbers it should be some of the private schools with make beleive students wait that is another topic

Again McKenzie and Union City are Single A schools, why woud they not have their correct enrollment it comes from the state attendence records. What public school is going to give smaller numbers when your funding is based on enrollment.

What makes you any different than the other people that make negative post now you are one of them. Your making comments based on one or two other peoples post. Why not enjoy your victory your team must have played good. As for McKenzie having 500 students go to the school and count. It is amazing a few years ago they were playing with 360 in AA and didnt hear them crying. In fact over the last 8 years they have won over 70 games and 5 of those years were in AA. The reason McKenzie is good is same reason Gleason is good in girls Basketball. Good coaching and kids that are not afraid to work. Kids that work hard in off season, in summer and everyday in practice.

Who beat who more as head coaches Jack Cain or John Tucker

Your right about cannot get lucky three times in a row. Heck last year they were lucky to beat waverly, even luckier to beat fairveiw and should have never beaten lewis co. wait that is luck three times in a row. Your also right about them not playing for a state championship but they have played 41 games the last three years and that is not bad for the smallest AA team in the state. Enrollment is under 360 but thanks to TSSAA changing to 4 year cycles they will continue to play AA and really do not care because they are lucky.

I do not think any of these post are intended to cloud the accomplishment of the players. Everything I have heard the players played well and earn their victory. They need to go to Spring Fling and continue playing well. I think the ones that should feel clouded are the coach and administrators that refuse to do what was best for all concerned. Winning and getting home field is the advantage not making the game time where a team can not have all its players because of graduation.

To the girls that play for Marshall Co you played well and deserve to win. This post is not to take anything away from your accomplishments. To the Coach and administrators of Marsharll Co, you need a lesson in sportsmanship and fair play. I know that before it was even decided who McKenzie was going to play that contact was made with both schools that it was possible for them to be playing about graduation. I know Mck ask to play on Thur, Fri at 2 or even Sat afternoon. I know the TSAA agree to let the schools play on Sat. It is ashame that a coach does not have enough confidence in his players to allow both teams equal chance. You said it has happen before but does that make it right? If it was the spring fling I can understand because games are set before the tournament even starts but in this case something could have been worked out. I think that to many coaches have forgot what High School athletes is about. Again the players that played you earned your victory. For the players good luck. To the coach hope you learn the meaning of sports.
