Duckman I beleive the season before this year the rebel middle school only lost to huntingdon and then the bowl game. That is a good year, now this past season they struggled. Get your facts straight. Losing to the stangs middle school team the last two years, is something most teams did I think those stangs only lost one game in two years.

It was not an on side kick. He just pooched it and mckenzie could have fell on the ball but those close to it did not. Both teams played a clean game. I did not see anything like the games last year. Bottom line tackle the the quarterback and mckenzie wins don't and you get beat.

How would Jo Byrns come to the west? Why wouldnt Clarksville Academy? They are closer west than Jo Byrns. Perry County is closest west but not many people are thinking they will go west.... Is Bruceton and U.C. going to make the playoffs? If so then it should either be C.A or Perry Co. west

Playoffs are not done the same way as last year. The two spots from your district I think are Humboldt and Trenton. Just the first two are automatic. The other teams to qualify use the criteria off TSSAA web page. Before you say that those two teams are 2A in playoffs I know that. The system to qualify was changed. Lake County and South Fulton are in at this point based on their number of wins. Even if UC beats SF next week SF is in before them because they have 6 wins and UC would only have 5

lcwildfalcon I am not Coach Ross. To get the stats you were talking about go to TSSAA web site and they have total point stats for last 6 or 7 years. You still have not answer back on how many teams did Coach Barger beat that had above .500 records in his tenure there. This his not a bash on him but just to point out over the last 6 years LC has not played many teams with a winning record. Coach Barger did a fine job but again how many teams with winning records did he beat, since that is what you claim Snow could not do. You say Snow only beat the bad teams well besides a year ago with Barger replacement how many winning teams have you beat. Snow was a young head coach that just needed more experience but would have grown given the time and opportunity.

You say stuff about Snow but how many teams did Lake County beat in the years Barger was there that had a winning record. I dare say you can count them on one hand and have at least one finger left over. This is not meant to be a knock on what Coach Barger did a LC, but Snow was a young coach that just needs some experience and he did care about the athletes and the school.

I can assure you I am not Coach Ross, b y t he way n I can assure you I am not Coach Ross, just somebody that enjoys football. Just a question talked about the great shootout between McK and LC, did McK get rid of their D Cord after that season? Or is he still coaching I think they have had some fairly good defensive teams since that season. Could it be that the teams lacked the type players that are defensive minded players? If this guy is so bad how many differnt coaches has he been with at the school, and none of them have got rid of him. In all honesty he might not be any good, but why undercut new coach and other players that are out putting forth effort everyweek and trying the best that they can? Take problem to administration not someplace where it can affect the players that are trying to win, and are practicing eveyday to get better.

lcwildfalcon you are more sorry than any of the coaches your talking about based on your comments. Lets see quit when not winning gee lets do that in life when things get tough, oh also lets blame everybody, what have you done to help the situation? By the way if your so football smart why didn't you go ask to help with coaching, I am sure with all this knowledge you have, Snow would have welcomed your assistance. Heck if your so good why did they not hire you as the Head coach?

Still waiting on reply about Jv and freshman games. Now to answer one of your other points, maybe he is playing the starters longer than he should but this is the beginnning of the year and he feels that they need to be in shape to play whole game against teams like Humboldt and Union City. No I dont think the two teams he played were good, missed point they are same teams you have been playing thats why some of previous teams have had winning records. He did not make this schedule it was done before he got hired. My grip is why are you so negative, he is a first year head coach and he has won a couple games. He has learned from two of the better coaches in west tn. Give him time to grow and learn from his own expriences. He will be a good coach if the town people support him, be positive so kids will still play. If parents or fans are telling them not to play you are doing kids and team an injustice. As for bringing up the coaches son in jr high what proof do you have that anything like that is going to happen. I beleive that Snow will play the best players not the kids of a coach, he wants to win just like you and the kids.

Did you ever think that they run because he is trying to build some pride in the defense. LC has been able to score the last few years but has lacked on defensive side of ball. Are the other players playing any JV or freshmen games? Heck it could be like three coaches ago and you were losing. The next coach you had won games but how many of those wins were against teams with winning records. If I remember right less than three total for all those years. Your coach last year at least did beat some good teams but some of you complained about him. Give the new guy a chance I sure would rather be 2-0 than 0-2, plus he has got a lot more kids out. There is more out now than in last few years at LC.

In the play offs 2A is just the bigger schools of 1A. Basically the only schools it added in this area are Humboldt, Dresden, Trenton, Riverside and maybe a couple others. McKenzie and TCA are still 1A and in the playoffs play in the large school half of 1A becomes 2A. Its not like adding Milan,Westview, Camden or the other traditional 2A schools for playoffs. Its not the same 2A that was played in years past. The 2A you are thinking of is still 2A until playoffs then they become 3A and 4A

It can be done. How do kids from Madison play for JCM, just footbal other sports they play for Madison. If school does not offer, then the two schools can get permission from TSSAA to do it.

Good luck to Quinton Bowden today as he undergoes surgery. I will be praying for a speedy recovery. Hopefully he will be back in three to four weeks. Also i hope to see jake johnson playing soon. I heard he is out for a couple more weeks also. It sounds like we should be getting healthy by the playoffs. I just hope we dont have anymore injuries. As for the game it should be a good one.

Your coach still has to be there to vote. Nominations with no representation cuts down players chance for votes. If they want to make it worth while take the all region teams from each region compile list send to coaches in that classification and let them vote include stats and info on each kid at least then it would have a little more meaning. It is not very accurate the way it is done now. Or have each region put list together of best two or three at each position and make list to be voted on from that. Send ballots to each coach in classification and vote they could even set it up on line and have coaches log in and vote.

Ward comes to Camden in 04 goes to meeting 1st year west tn has anyone on team 2 from Camden. 2003 Htown plays state championship nobody on team. 2005 12 players only 6 teams 2 from each oh by the way Camden 2 players 2006 Camden 2 players 2007 Camden 1 player do you realize that Camden has had more All State players combined than all the teams that have won the State championships during those years. I beleive Camden and Lewis Co have more players than any other school since they started this All State team. Also Memphis schools must not have any athletes in any of the classes because they are not represented very often on these teams. I think 2 kids from Whitehaven made it in 5A. Memphis schools dont have many D1 players coming from there? Last year JCS wins 1A title nobody on team, this year Trenton and Hickman Co 2 players and Alcoa 1 Am I missing something hasnt Alcoa been winning state for last few years. With all the all state players some of these schools have had they need a new coach not winning a state championship or even a region title some years when they have 2 all state players and nobody else in there region even has 1.

Mr Mustang I have to agree with you. I know one year Huntingdon was playing for state championship and the coaches were not at meeting. Nobody from Htown makes team. Your right same schools each year. Even if coach nominates if he is not there he is not going to get kids votes they deserve. Not trying to take things away from kids that make it, but it is all state team of what few coaches make it to meeting. Camden when you play for state championship your kids wont make it cause your coach will be busy with football not meetings

Why question the coaches. Both teams tonight must have good coaches look at the number of games they have won over the past years. My goodness Marco was a man tonight, and the coaches used what they thought best in an attempt to get a win. Then somebody from McKenzie questions going for it on 4th down, well they didnt make it but McK has won alot of games the last eight years more than any other coach in MCK history so if he gambles then so be it. All I know is the Rebels are headed to state next week. I dont think there are many coaches that could have accomplished what the coaching staff of McK as done with the athletes at the school. Those young men were made by hard work and dedication by both the athlete and the coaches.

coach comer from mckenzie has been great this year. Mckenzie had 5 returning starters from last years 10-2 team; lost to trenton and state champs jcs. Lost a returning starting in first scrimage of year, who by the way was the best lineman offense and defense. So by week one only four starters back. Mckenzie won the region (picked to be 2nd or 3rd in most publications) and is in the state semi finals. Scored more points than any west tenn team. Only loss came early in the year to state semi finalist trenton peabody in a very good game. Not to mention that the last three starting qbs at mckenzie have all gotten college scholarships to play football. Two of which were nominated for mr. football, hayes won two years ago. In the past 5 years mckenzie has had over 13,300 yards passing, with a least one game to play this year. oh this means that they dont run you say.... and in six of the past 7 years had at least one back have over 1000 yards rushing. won 77 games since 2000 (first year as head coach) and coached in 3 state semi finals (2 in double a). Not to bad if you ask me.

Carr had 2,263 yards passing 24 touchdowns on a team that won the region and shut down jordan... this year carr is 125- 215 for 2,169 yards with 17 touchdowns and 59 rushes 378 yards and 11 touchdowns.. and again on a team that won the region and shut down jordan...

I have been to games at many different places, and at just about every school there are classless fans. One of the worst places I experienced was at Milan years ago. Have not been back to a game there since. Actually came to cheer for Milan in playoffs but rudeness of people in area I was sitting changed that. Overall though most schools, coaches and players in West Tn are good people with a few fans that are classless. But bottom line most fans when playoff come around root for west Tn teams when their team is put out.

Jordan has done well but he is no Patrick Willis. No comparison speed and power. Willis playing against the talent level of the teams that are playing now, Willlis would rush for over 4000 yds if he had that many carries. Not trying to down Jordan he has performed well and he has a 1 in 3 chance of winning award but I bet if he had a choice of winning last night or winning award he would be getting ready to play next week. That is probaly one trait all the players up for this award have.
