  2. Congratulations to Jasmine James for breaking Bartlett's all-time scoring record male or female with a total of 2,436 points. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> This was announced during Senior Night festivities as well as the decision by administrators to retire her jersey at the end of the season. She has worked very hard over the past 4 years both on and off the court and it is definitely paying off for her, which is evidenced by her being offered and accepting a full ride to the University of Georgia. BHS fans are definitely proud of her and the manner is which she represents the Lady Panthers. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  3. I wouldn't count Bartlett out just yet. They tend to play their best ball of the season in the post-season. JMO. Only time will tell. Good luck to all the teams as they wrap up their regular season schedules. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  4. Congratulations to Bartlett Lady Panthers for their victory over a very good Webster County(Kentucky) team. Bartlett defeated them by a score of 46-39. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> They will face BvLutt East tomorrow night at 8pm. Also, congratulations to Siegel for their victory against Middlesboro....not quite sure what their score was. Keep up the great work ladies and continue to represent Tennessee well.
  5. Rob_M, Bartlett did not have 2 losses in the HOF games. The only loss they had was 61-59 to Central. They defeated Melrose 60-44 and Manassas 54-34. Last I checked, Millington is not counting their loss to Central in the HOF games which is the coaches decision to do so. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  6. Bartlett has not played Millington yet this year and will not face them until December in District play. Bartlett is now 3-1 on the season after defeating Oakland 60-24. LaVergne does have a good team, but don't start declaring them AAA champions just yet. If I am not mistaken, they have to go through Wilson Central and Smyrna to get to the Boro and that in it self will be a hard task to conquer, although anything is possible. Bartlett lost the game in the first quarter, but made adjustments and the remaining quarters were pretty evenly matched. I wouldn't count Bartlett out just yet. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Some teams peak early, but the truth of the matter is that games like this help prepare teams for the end of the season. This game does count as a loss on Bartlett's overall record, but it won't make or break their season. Great job LaQuinta and Stephanie I must also say that of all of the schools I have visited, some of the fans from LaVergne are the worse I have ever seen. These are kids out there on the court playing and these obnoxious fans took much pride and pleasure in making rude comments about the young ladies and trash talking the entire game. The good thing is that the young ladies could not hear them. I was very disgusted at the fact that adults would conduct themselves in the way they did. Here is a little bit of advice......if your child is blessed with talent and being recruited by colleges, colleges are not only looking at the player, but the parents as well and you never know who is sitting in the stands around you. Don't be the reason a recruiter is hesitant about seriously recruiting your child. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  7. Bartlett 60 Melrose 44 Bartlett 54 Mannassas 34
  8. Actually, Jasmine ended the game with 40 points, she had 35 at the end of the 3rd quarter. All of the young ladies played well, but had a few areas that I'm sure Coach Whitfield will work out the kinks and they will be giving teams all they can stand. They face Melrose in the morning and they will be ready to "bring it on". /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  9. JJ has not made a decision yet on her school choice. TN has not offered as they do not have a need for a combo guard with the committment from Avant for the 2010 class. JJ has been offered by Maryland, LSU, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Illinois, Kentucky, Auburn, Arkansas, and Louisville.....just to name a few. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> She will be narrowing her list down and making her official visits during August and will commit before the start of the school season.
  10. Congratulations Ashley and you are very deserving. I look forward to seeing you play in the Tiger blue & white. I am very proud of you and will continue to be in the stands cheering you on (unless you are playing against my daughter's school /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> ) Continue to work hard and great things will come your way.
  11. Congratulations to Sarah and good luck. U of A is not only adding a great player to their team but a great young lady as well. Sarah is a very talented young lady and all of her hard work has paid off for her. We are very happy for her and her family. Again, congratulations and represent Tennessee well in Razorback Country. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  12. Just a FYI......Flight-Navy was NOT the same team that beat Miles in Shelbyville. They were missing 2 very important parts of the puzzle in Jamila Ajanaku who played with Flight-Silver for the tournament and Ellen (don't know her last name) who had a prior engagement. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  13. Congratulations to all the young ladies from the Shelby-Metro area that were chosen Pepsi/Commercial Appeal 2007-2008 Best of the Preps. A special congratulations goes out to Lauren Avant (Lausanne), Caitlin House (Briarcrest), Jasmine James (Bartlett), Crystal Riley (Hillcrest), and Sarah Watkins (Houston) for being named the five finalists for Girl's Basketball Player of the year. The winner will be announced sometime in June. For the full article, go to http://web.commercialappeal.com/best_of_preps/08/bball.pdf. Also, congratulations to Coach Gat for being named Coach of the Year. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  14. Congratulations to the Bartlett Lady Panthers on a great season. Through all the adversity that these young ladies have faced throughout their season, they still managed to be one of the last 8 out of 114 AAA teams to be standing during the end of the season. Despite the many negative attacks regarding their skill level or quality of competition, these young ladies completed the seaon with a record of 20-8 and lost to the eventual champion Wilson Central, who is an awesome team, in the quarterfinals by a score of 49-60 which was only a 6 point deficit until Bartlett had to foul to stop the clock. Maybe the young ladies owe an apology to those that were predicting a blowout....NOT!!!! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> You better believe that everytime these young ladies step onto the court, they give 150% until that last horn sounds. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Alot of posters on here did not give Bartlett any credit, but the fact of the matter is that since JJ has been back, Bartlett has only lost to 2 teams (Millington and Wilson Central) who both made it to the finals of the AAA state tourney. They have alot to be proud of and their future is looking even brighter next year as they will be returning everyone (Lauren Croom included) and have some very good players coming up from middle school. After getting a taste of the Boro, these young ladies are hungry to make a trip back and make some noise. Great job representing 14AAA, West Tennessee and the Memphis area with class. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> Congratulations to Jasmine James, Olivia Maddox, and Jasmine Newsome for being named to the All State Tournament Team. We are very proud of all of the young ladies from both teams. Go 14AAA!!!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  15. After a very sluggish start, Bartlett defeats Bolton 49-32 to advance to the championship game on Wednesday where they will face the winner of the Millington-Cordova semifinal to be played tomorrow night. At this point all four teams have secured bids for the regional tournament. Good luck to all of the teams from 14AAA. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
