  1. Huntingdon was not able to move the ball on their first couple attempts against Covington. But then went 70 yards in about 5 plays to score on South Side with a short touchdown pass to Donald. Defense looked very good. Neither Covington or South Side scored on Huntingdon, and the mustangs forced at least one fumble that I saw and had one interception. I thought the lines on both sides of the ball played well for Huntingdon overall, especially given the fact they had 4 new starters on the o-line. I left shortly after the 1st teams were done so I don't know what happened after that.
  2. Wow, I knew Huntingdon was going to try some new things on offense this year but I didn't realize they were not going to use lineman. Boy it will be a tough year. Is it legal to not use lineman? Austin do you know if they are not going to use tight ends either, or are they just not using the 5 interior lineman?
  3. Boo Weathers - Huntingdon Very hard to catch in the open field. Incredibly quick feet.
  4. First of all both teams have a ton of potential. But both teams have several questions marks entering the season. The success of these teams will depend on several things: how well they replace key starters, how well younger players step up and mature and provide depth, avoiding injuries, and how much they improve during the course of the season. Either one of these two teams could lose two or three games in the early part of the season, especially with their schedules, but don't let that fool you. Come playoff time if both teams stay healthy they will both be very tough to beat. Camden is on a roll with confidence, great coaching in place now, and some very good talent returning. Huntingdon has great coaching and some of the best skilled position players around. Most teams would love to be in Camden or Huntingdon's shoes. But going into the season most teams are wondering if they even have a Q'back or who the heck they even have to hand the ball to. But Camden and Huntingdon have most of their weapons in place, they are just trying to fill in a few missing pieces to the puzzle. Don't be surprised to see these teams match up in the semi's.
  5. Paul Ward coached from 1953-1975. won/loss 169/62 for a winning percentage of 71%. Best team was probably 1966. 11-0, and the defense only gave up a total of 43 points for the entire season. That team had several great players including Tim Priest who now works on the radio for the Tennessee Vols. I'm sure Mr. Mustang could give us some more good info.
  6. Mr. Mustang, Who is Paul Mall?
  7. I believe the other teams will be obion county, bruceton, and ripley.
  8. It won't be long now. First game less than three months away. Huntingdon has a lot of work to do replacing a great group of seniors. Four new starters this year on the O-line. Three of which could be sophs. But the stangs return tons of talent at the skilled positions.
  9. First round of playoffs will match 7AA with 8AA from Memphis. USJ will have to play a memphis team, someone like Carver. No one from this area would play Camden untill semi's.
  10. It's too quiet. Surely someone has some info on Huntingdon Mustang football at this point. I would expect that a new offensive coordinator would be announced soon, but I have no idea who they are considering. I believe that this is the time of year that coaches and teachers give their intentions for the next school year. Has anyone heard anything?
  11. What if all the athletes in carroll county attended one school. lets see, Boo, donald, drew hayes, cody cook, orey willis, ...............just to name a few. Seems like we'd have a pretty dominant team.
  12. a lot of people said 2004 would be a rebuilding year after losing so many starters from the 2003 team, and the mustangs made it to the finals again. Huntingdon will be just as tough again in 2005.
  13. Mustangs 2005 - Lots of skilled position players returning on both sides of the ball. one word to best describe next years team- FAST!!!!!!!!!!!

  17. • Friday Dec. 3rd Alcoa football plays Huntingdon in the State Finals @ 8:00pm Eastern time. Tickets can be bought at Alcoa High School for $7.00. Alcoa High School gets benefits if tickets are bought at the school.-----Posted on Alcoa web site. is $7 the price for tickets? i thought it was $10.
  18. I believe Alcoa will have several motion penalties in this game, and will have a very hard time with audibles. I mean, with all the duck calls and milk jugs from the mustang side, how are the tornado lineman going to be able to hear the qback?
  19. Hey, i saw it!! it was five rows down from me. I started to go after it after the game and then somebody turned the lights out at the stadium. couldn't see a thing then and headed for the car.
