  1. = out of the tournament so quit talking about him
  2. In case you guys are wondering whos going to win the girls' championship, Id put my money on Stephanie Evans from FRA. She has beat the defending champ from DCA thrice this year with scores of (6-3,7-5) (6-3,7-6) and (6-0,6-0) The DCA girl had won 40 some-odd matches in a row before suffering her first loss in the district finals, then Steph went on to beat her twice more. O, and by the way, Stephanies a freshman
  3. congratulations. Thats an impressive throw for a decathlete...
  4. If anyone on these boards was at Busters finals last Friday, they can attest that the 1600 and on was run with the track litterally under 6ins of water. No joke, because of the rail they have combining with the uneven track, water collected in lane 1 while it monsooned around us. I had to shut my eyes on the back stretch because of the driving rain. It was the most fun Ive ever had in a mile run- its just too bad that it was my last high school mile---I really wanted to go out with a good time, but even though the rain slowed us down a lot, I had a great time doing it. So, while your post was meant sarcastically, it had merit.
  5. so, the only advantage is that they have a better academic/social environment- I can deal with that. Too bad youre not the only one who thinks that, but unless theyre reclassifying for math competitions, that doesnt explain why they have an "advantage" in athletics. I dont think they do-you do, lets leave it at that since you didnt have any examples. Yea, I honestly dont know where all the clones came from- its flattering- sort of.... As far as state teams go...its too close to state to be making any bold statements- its all up to the athletes to do their talking on the track now. Good luck to all
  6. no Instead of just saying that private schools recruit, why dont you give an example. You know, in all the posts Ive ever seen about private schools and their unfair advantage, Ive never seen any example of recruiting. Recruting, by the way, is illegal and the only school ever found doing it was BA- AND IT WASNT FOR RUNNERS- give it up, just because theyre better than you doesnt mean they cheat or have an advantage- all it does is make you guys look like a bunch of whiney little losers who would rather complain about the problem than work hard to cancel it out. [/ridiculous ranting] also, if youre going to respond to this, please present an example of recruiting (if you say its because they can get students from wherever they want bc theres no zoning, Ill just give MBAs "recruited" football lineup as a good example)- otherwise, just ignore my rant and let the real debate be done in the proper forum...
  7. Do you have an update for this? I know FRA beat DA, but I dont know if that means their out- its double elimination, right?
  8. you're a moron- obviously since their parents can afford nicer things, their hard work and achievements are worthless, right.....?
  9. iamskip- I guess you run 4x8 for Lipscomb right? Please introduce yourself to me tomorrow- I probably know who you are, but I dont know who iamskip is. As for our 4x8, you can look at the mile qualifiers and see that we didnt stack the mole- we put our best miler in and our next four 800 runners in the 4x8. Its been a season-long goal to get to state. I seriously doubt you'll have much trouble with us, but we definately are up for whatever MLK/HFA throws at us...
  10. Dorns CCS- and yea, there are several people threatening 2:00- there are several at those times or better in the Nashville section as well
  11. lol, sarcasm necessitates intelligence- in time, you'll learn..........
  12. Well, 1st and second was 48-01.5 and 46-10.5. The next two were both 46-6 and then 5th was 45-11.5.... ...that seems pretty solid to me- I dont know who you are, but you would have to break 46 to get that 5th place spot you were talking about. Also, there are four sections- I know results for two of them in shot, and so far, Section 3 has the two farthest throws.... so what are you talking about? the sections stacked...
  13. who promised? anyway, one of the "fra guys" was in 1st with 800 to go. I was hoping Jones would take it out fast like I know hes capable of, because I thought that would lose Romell and maybe Jordan. As it was, it went out in 5:06, and by the time it sped up, those with a better kick than mine (just about everybody anywhere) beat me pretty easily. If I wouldve taken the lead early, I wouldve died in the heat, so it was frustrating- go out early and have the heat burn me, or go out slow and have the kickers burn me. Basically, I ran exactly what everyone else wanted me to and nothing like what I shouldve- I got sucked into running Romell, Wilson, and Jones's race, so congratulations to them on a great race.
  14. "the third" isnt even really the third (as in III), and besides, hes out of contention- he didnt even make it to region
  15. I dont want to sound like a moderator/teacher/parent/etc., but you really shouldnt post your e-mail address. If I were you, Id edit the post and take out the addy as soon as who it was intended for sees it. Otherwise, youre going to get flooded with litterally thousands of spam messages from companies that use programs which search websited for email addresses to spam. It happened to me, and if it werent for Yahoo blocking 95% of the spam i get, Id have over 1000 spams a day. Again, sorry to seem like an ######, Im just throwing you a heads up -lol, I had to edit it becasue I did exactly what I just finished rambling about- I left your email address up in the quotes box......
  16. I dont remember an 8:18- when did they get that? I saw that they ran an 8:24, but that was early so I guess they couldve improved.
  17. guys, look out, RocknTN is the authority on everything but seriously, Id be willing to bet that there are throws under 46 that make it t state, which is all puttheshot was saying... -and puttheshot, you may not be trying to act like you know every throw down to the 1/4 inch, but I am- the Ezell guy threw 46'10.5"
  18. Or...Russell, since you ran a 2:02 first leg at Busters, you could just clone yourself and we'd run 8:08- that'd be handy. O wait, we already have clones of you (Jimbo and J-cubed)
  19. well, if its not MLK, ive narrowed it down to Hume Fogg and Lipscomb- probably Lipscomb. Anyway, if I answer you will you tell me your name? The fastest we've run this year was the 8:31 (I think) that we ran at Doug Halls. We havent broken 8:30 yet, but weve had a quantam shift in our 800m ranks. The next time we stack, youre going to see a completely new relay. It wont compare with your 8:13, so dont think Im being cocky- 8:13 was our goal this year bc its our school record, but it will be good by FRA standards. It basically all depends on whether or not we have all four healthy- we have good backups but maybe not good enough to compete with Lipscomb like wed like to....
  20. crazy toll, whered you come up with that? you need to get back to class
  21. Yes, both the mentioned sections are very strong, but you can hardlybase it on CC times- look at Ryne Sexton...
  22. Wow, its almost like I posted that without typing anything, except then I got reregistered 4 days ago and lost 250 or so posts.... I know where you live, David or JJ whoever it was Well, for what its worth, hes right, DJ just ran a 9:32... yet another reason for qualifying marks- our section could have three people under 10, meaning one of them wouldnt make it to state- last year only 1 time was under 10 in the entire state, but I digress...
  23. Sure- Daniel Jones CW- 9:56 Spencer Whittier CCS- 9:58 Russel Rodewalde FRA- 10:10 Phillip Thompson FW- 10:13 Joseph Pair PHS- 10:15 Hunter Kemp CCS- 10:19 Matt Cowan FRA- 10:21 Matt Young Eliz- 10:29 Trevor Howater WV- 10:30 Romell Glatten MLK- 10:31 (best I know of, but he may have run another one since- Shoneys maybe?) Ryne Sexton SC- 10:35ish Todd Skelton Vol- 10:36 Im sure there are many others in between. Do you know any I left out? Also, does anyone have times for Dorn, Morgan, Longstreth in Chattanooga or anyone from the east or west sections?
  24. Id say the early favorites (out of the sections I know) are: A/AA- Spencer Whittier, Daniel Jones AAA- I really dont know so Im not going to list anyone so I dont get slammed when it turns up one of the guys is a 1600/800 runner... DII- Some Bumbi kid, Strang I obviously have a very limited knowledge base in this. I could tell you PRs for just about every runner in the Nashville a-aa sectional race, but as far as statewide goes, thats the best I can do... Also, Sparx, who are you and who do you run for? I think every post Ive ever seen you make has been about the 3200.
