  1. Oakland, I'm sorry I jumped on you. I was just getting tired of all the confidence in Riverdale from all the folks in Middle Tenn. and then when showing confidence in our team, being called trash talkers. I offer the following quotes from various posters that they are making guarantees, when "ANY GIVEN FRIDAY" applies to everyone, including Riverdale. Anyone remember who DeLasalle is? Even they got beat.
  2. Oakland, I believe your words are Oak Ridge WILL NOT rush for 150 against Riverdale and OR WILL NOT hold Gaston to under 80 yards. If you had said you don't believe that it will happen or that you would have to see it to believe it, then I could live with that, but this is an example of people making guarantees about something that none of us can guarantee any of, only the players on the field and the coaching they receive will settle this game. If you noticed, I also made a previous post that you all were right, we didn't stand a chance and Riverdale was unbeatable, yadda, yadda, yadda. That's only because everyone is making guarantees and you guys could not possibly be wrong or overconfident, but when we show that we believe in our team, we are talking trash because no one can score on Riverdale, blah, blah, blah.. The Wildcats are coming to play football, and hopefully Riverdale is going to be there and all of us fans can cheer for our team, everyone will play safe and escape injury, and everyone will have a safe ride home, win or lose. ROLL WILDCATS ROLL!!!
  3. I am as impressed with Miller's stats as I am with Gulmire's. Perhaps you don't know what kind of stats he has and apparently you don't care to know. It's funny you guys give these guarantees based on what you know and think that is the gospel. We make comments about what we know and we are talking trash. Spencer Gulmire has not played four quarters every game either and had 1564 yards on only 167 carries through the first 10 games. I believe a 9.36 yard per carry average is almost a first down per touch, as well. I don't know his exact stats through 13 games but believe that it is over 1800 yards on less than 230 carries, which is just under 8 yards per carry. Again, I am impressed with Miller's numbers, but Gulmire's are pretty impressive as well, I think.
  4. How do you know? Got a crystal ball?
  5. Time will tell who is full of it and whose team is not invincible. What truth have you spoken? Riverdale by 14.....guaranteed. That can not be known as truth, yet. That is your opinion and I have mine. see you there, bring that bright yellow cryin' towel... you and your P.A. announcer may both need it. ROLL WILDCATS ROLL!!!
  6. See how easy that was. I can make up a bunch of crap, too.
  7. Looks like the Cookeville fans will be scarce after Friday's game when they see that the pitiful little kitties did what they could not do. Cookeville could NOT beat Soddy-Daisy or Ooltewah. Come on, you guys squeaked by teams that were 6-5 and 7-4. Give me a break, you would not have even made the playoffs if you had played in Region 2. Riverdale, get ready to play basketball. Oak Ridge by a minimum of 10, mark that up bhsol. Gaston will not get 80 yards and Gulmire will run for a minimum of 150 on the mighty Riverdale Defense. thumb ROLL WILDCATS ROLL!!!
  8. All I am saying is EVERYBODY on here except Oak Ridge fans before my post said we were overmatched and couldn't play with the Mighty Warriors. The Oak Ridge nation begs to differ with all of you. Does our opinion only count when it is your opinion? I remember I think 1980 we were going to be shellacked by Gallatin 50-0. We had to beat them to shut everyone else up. So what do we have to do? Pack all the FANS from last night's turnout and take over Murfreesboro and win two in a row down there in the next two weeks. That will once again shut everybody up and we'll bring the Gold Ball back to the RIDGE where it belongs. ROLL WILDCATS ROLL!!!
  9. Ok. We'll come to terms with it. RIVERDALE is awesome and unbeatable. Oak Ridge stinks and don't even deserve to be on the same field with the Mighty Warriors. That's what you all want us to say. So, there it is. Are you happy now. You know RIVERDALE rolled on everyone else last year and came to Oak Ridge and only won 17-13 and intercepted a tipped pass inside the 5 yard line. That's total dominance and WILDCATS fans should remember how bad they mopped up the field with us. AND remember when I called for some respect from The Knoxville News-Sentinel? We got it this morning on page 4 of a four pagr PrepExtra section. We should probably just forfiet and save the money for buses and everything. Please, Mighty Warriors, if we even have the guts to show, have mercy on us because we are weak and have not played anyone. BTW- Dragons05, we know that you can really evaluate good talented football teams, because you are for the 1-9 Clinton Dragons. You have been idle for so long, you're brain has turned to mush. ROLL WILDCATS ROLL!!! Let' go to Murfreesboro 2 weeks in a row.
  10. I still say Riverdale has not played any one. How many ranked teams did they play? Oak Ridge played and beat 4 teams out of their last 6 games against opponents ranked in the top 10 at the time they played. So, assuming D-B was #1, Riverdale #2, and Oak Ridge #3 according to the last AP poll of the regular season, then we beat #1 tonight and now Riverdale is number #1 and they can be beat just like the other top ten teams Oak Ridge has beat. We are not trying to be cocky, we just want some respect. Can't even get any in East Tennessee until we win the state title, and that's when we become "Knoxville Area Team - Oak Ridge wins State Title". We like being the under dog. Yeah Riverdale will probably beat us by 2 TD's. ROLL WILDCATS ROLL!!!
  11. The kitties are coming. Be careful what you wish for. ROLL WILDCATS ROLL!!!
  12. I never said that Cookeville was no. 2. I picked up on another thread I guess that someone thought they were. It may have been Redraider for life. He still thinks they are better than D-B or Oak Ridge. Wonder what they are smoking in Red Raiderville.
  13. Riverdale plays no one until now every year, they should be undefeated. Cookeville - No. 2 in the state. You have got to be kidding me. If D-B was last ranked #1 and Cookeville was #2 and Oak Ridge is #3, then where is Riverdale ranked? Riverdale has not played one single team that could beat Oak Ridge, D-B, Soddy-Daisy or Ooltewah for that matter. Get ready for some real competition. ROLL WILDCATS ROLL!
  14. Vols#1, We have passed for over 400 yards in the last two games, including 180+ tonight against D-B. Our quarterback surpassed Mike Underwood for most passing yards in a career EVER for an Oak Ridge Quarterback. Can we throw the ball? No. It does not sound like it. But I'd be willing to bet we can run it on Riverdale, too. We run better than we pass, but oh yeah, we can't pass, so never mind. The Mighty Warriors will have their hands full Friday night, but if you lose, we'll let you sit on our side at MTSU and show you how the East or Middle is supposed to win in the finals. ROLL WILDCATS ROLL!!!
  15. Come on Neil, there's a first time for everything. In fact, we have never played them at Tomahawk stadium, so we are 0-0 there. Remember, that's why they play the game. Oak Ridge CAN beat anybody any given night. ROLL WILDCATS ROLL!!!
  16. There are two Chattanooga schools in Region 2, but the refs will not be able to help you this time. Oak Ridge is coming and that defense that held you to 17 points last year may be even better and we know our offense has scored more points than last year. Buckle up your chinstraps, because the Wildcats are coming and they want to eliminate the critics and see if The Knoxville News-Sentinel might even adopt us as a part of East Tennessee and offer up a little bit of respect.
  17. Oak Ridge will be at Riverdale Fri. Nov. 26 and they will be there to play. Don't count them out.
  18. Great game. Great season to D-B. You guys are still awesome. I think Graham is a great coach, but you guys did not seem to make your fantastic adjustments at the half like usual. The Wildcats DEFENSE was spectacular when it counted. You can't stop a great offensive team like that all night long. ROLL WILDCATS ROLL! Let's scalp some more injuns next week.
  19. CentralBobcats, Check your stats on the Farragut Rushing attack. I think you will find that thier running back has a couple of 150+ yards games before the Oak Ridge game.
  20. I have not watched the Owls play this year, but I have seen three Oak Ridge games. I am a Wildcat fan through and through, and I say whoever has the most turnovers loses here. The Wildcats are cocky anywhere, but especially at Blankensip field. The Owls seem more cocky on the road. The Wildcats must protect the football and will then win by 10 or more. If the Cats turn the ball over, like they did at Farragut, they may lose this one. Wildcats, you have two big games to play, either opponent could control your destiny. Will you let them or will you control it yourselves? One game at a time. Roll Wildcats Roll!!!
  21. So much for prayers for all the players. It appears that Oak Ridge's Emmanuel Isang broke his leg tonight. Prayers to him and his family. My son broke his leg in the off-season between his sophomore and junior seasons and I have a feeling i know how they feel. Good Luck ISANG, we will miss you! Roll Wildcats Roll!
  22. The Teepee does not scare the Wildcats. Last trip down to Athens in 2002, Wildcats waltzed away 44-3. The difference this time is I don't know if McMinn can score at all. 51-0 Cats Roll!
  23. Let's face it. Both teams appeared to be running out of gas. Neither had been challenged thus far in the season, and when you need your best players to go four quarters to compete with a team of these two teams caliber, you are going to have conditioning issues. Look at the cramps suffered by both teams players. It may be September, but it's not exactly cold either. The team with the fewest turnovers won this game. Oak Ridge's punting game lacked a lot to be desired, but when you consider this kid has only been called on to punt twice in the first two games against less than worthy opponents who obviosly were unable to force the Wildcats to punt, and had never punted at the Varsity level, I guess we came out better than it could have been. Poor judgment on some plays and having to play Scott McMahon both ways did not help our cause. Unsportsmanlikes and the ejection contributed to Oak Ridge's eventual demise. Again, I congratulate Duran Ferguson and the entire Dobbyns-Bennett team on a great win at an old rival's season opener.
  24. Congratulations to Clinton and Andy Shattuck. Continued best wishes for the revival of Clinton's football program. Win a couple more and get ready to work harder next year to improve.
