  1. my bad, i completely forgot the teams that are picked up. the conference lost hampton, sullivan central, and volunteer but i believe picked up west greene, south greene, and chuckey doak.
  2. it should be 3 main teams with elizabethton, happy valley, and unicoi. etown will be a one man show again with nave. hv will lack inside play and rely on shooters and scrappy players. im not sure if uc has outside players. i know they lost a few but im not sure how many. should be alot of close conference games this year.
  3. im not for sure, but from what ive read on here, some of the chs players have commented that not only will they cheap shot hamptons qb(lunsford), but they will put him in the hospital.
  4. yeah, im the one that said hampton would win last week. it came down to who wanted it more and hampton had more heart. as for this game, its hard to tell who has the edge. it will come down to containment of townsend and emotions. if cloudland can contain townsend and not play dirty, they will win. if not, hampton will win. personally, i think townsend has 150-200 yards and 2-3 tds. hampton scores late to put it out of reach and cloudland scores with less than a minute to bring it within 1 score. hampton 34 cloudland 30.
  5. lol, u all make this board fun. trash talking does no good unless it gets to the side being bad mouthed. it seems like hampton folk are letting the cloudland folk get under their skin instead of ignoring the talk, and im loving every bit of it. o, btw, its trash talking, not smash mouth. smash mouth is how football is supposed to be played.

no, i dont play, but only because i graduated in 2004. while i went to hv, though, i did play, and yes i did start, so i wasnt a 4th string bench warmer.

o and another question for u king. is the night of the living dead lift comp still going down this year? if so, whats the date? id like to come view some of the areas elite in action.

garland could have a big game, him or swafford. i suspect that davis will get most of hamptons attention. ogg might try to throw a wrench in the system and come out running with lowe, who knows? btw king, is the big matchup at cloudland or hampton this year? i might have to make a journey to the mountains and see the game. ive not got to see the cloudland boys in action this year. im not worried much about ol turtle, hes just venting a little since his team went from undefeated to likely out of the playoffs in a matter of weeks.

pujo, how exactly can u say that hampton is the best team, excluding south, that hv has played this year? both teams played and lost to johnson county. on top of that, jc beat hampton at hampton. turtle, ur a bonifide idiot. u talked trash about hv all year and didnt he throw for something like 250+ yards and 5 tds against ur mighty huskies? and now ur saying they cant pass. hmmmm, kinda odd. im not saying hv will come in and throw for 450 yards against hampton, but they should have some success through the air. i expect it to be a close game, and i even expect hampton to pull away with it. i think it will come down to who wants it more, and i just dont see that in this years hv squad. hampton on the other hand shows alot of heart, even in their losses. on the other hand, if u let caldwell get hot and dont put him on the turf, he will blow u up.
  11. im not 100% sure who to compare him to as far as in the conference. if u want an example, and obviously he isnt this good, but think jerome bettis type rb.
  12. hv has similar numbers as far as points given up and scored. previous games wont play any part in the outcome of this game, though.
  13. plz dont comment unless u know what ur talking about. he has burnt every team for a big td play in every game except for the jc game. hes had a 40+ yard td in every game but his last.
  14. well, if uve watched hv play more than the past 2 years, ud know that: 1. theyve been making a transition over the past few years into a more pass oriented offense and 2. hv is known to change offenses often. before the i, it was mainly all option. hv made a good transition considering they arent deep at all on either lines. they arent strong enough on the line to run an i all game so this is a better offense, running out of shotgun. garland isnt a great tb, hes a good playmaker, but he fumbles half the time a play is setup for him to run. lowe is their rb, he can do everything. speed, power, moves, vision, everything. if u spread ur defense to cover the pass, he will shred u. hvs qb had a horrible game against jc, thats all, just a bad game. hes got around 1200 yards in 5 games. he completes around 60% of his passes and throws more tds than ints. the wrs are very good. davis is on route for an all state season, over 500 yards in 5 games. he has burned every team, with the exception of jc, he has played against this year. swafford is a good possession wr and can also make big plays. if u double davis, swafford will kill u. garland doubles as a wr and has great speed. shankle is new to wr, but is a dependable wr and isnt afraid to come across the middle. the kicking game is solid, but not spectacular.
  15. i think hv controls this game. as hungry as cg is, hv is prolly at least a little hungrier. hv has been on a mission to win the conference championship for years and its finally within grasp. this is also a little bit bigger for hv, because it is homecoming. i think hv comes out and has a game alot like the one they had against pittman and click on all cylinders. davis, lowe, and caldwell all have big games and the d has cgs qb on his back all night. hv 42 cg 14
  16. grace christian(1-5) vs hampton(4-1)-another easy win for hampton. townsend and potter have big games hampton 55 grace 7 cumberland gap(4-1) vs happy valley(3-2)-hv bounces back from a poor performance against jc to all but cement the watauga conference in a big homecoming victory hv 42 gap 14 unaka(1-4) vs cosby(3-3)-unakas struggles continue against a fired up cosby team and force unaka to hope for 4th place in the conference cosby 27 unaka 15 elizabethton(1-4) vs unicoi co(0-5)-etown wins a game that ends a whole lot closer than it should end etown 28 uc 20
  17. there goes the undefeated season. looks like i was right, ng was overinflating theirselves. not even close, where were the big lynch brothers? where was neal and his wrs? next time, make sure u play a team thats at least decent before u start bragging about being 4-0.
  18. neal isnt in caldwells league. caldwell has near 1000 yards in 4 games and has a td/int ratio of 2-3/1. he also completes around 70% of his passes. hes not been sacked this year. he hasnt played against grace, kings, west greene, and cosby either. hes played against south, unicoi, west greene, and gatlinburg pittman.
  19. i have a feeling that this game is gonna be very disappointing for turtle. im calling for 40+ points by the highlanders and 300+ rushing yards. north greene will be held to less that 10 points and less that 200 total yards. the jv will be in early and north greene will look just like they did the past few years. dont overestimate ur team turtle, i played against alot of these players, including the lynch brothers. they arent close to as good as u are giving them credit. this will be a blowout and embarrasing. one of the best defenses? haha, maybe in greene county but not even close to one of the best in east tn.
  20. i wouldnt be so certain that joslin is the best in this area. drew davis from happy valley would give him a good run for his money. through 4 games, he has something like 500 yards and around 6-8 tds. ryan kennedy from elizabethton is also pretty good.
  21. ummm, i wouldnt exactly call a schedule of cosby, grace academy, kings academy and west greene a tough schedule. in fact, id say north greenes coach went to the local bakery and picked up a few cupcakes for his team before they had to face a few real teams.
  22. johnson county is only 4A because there is no 3A conference in far east tennessee and travel would be too much for them. they have the size of a 3A school. hampton, a 1A school, not only played them tight, but should have beat johnson county. happy valley, another 2A team, plays jc this weekend and we'll see how good they are.
  23. will lowe and logan birchfield-happy valley, both are on pace for 120-150 tackles and birchfield is on pace for 10+ sacks.
  24. todd caldwell-hv-through 4 games he has near 1000 yards and a 2-3/1 td/int ratio. he completes 65-80% of his passes as well. ill try to find his exact stats.
  25. no thoughts on this potential slobberknocker?
