  1. how does everyone feel about the upcoming matchup at mountain city? can hv stop jcs power attack? can jc stop hvs spread offense? who will be the big players in this game? on a side note, does anyone know krichs website?
  2. west greene(0-4) vs hampton(3-1)-the bulldogs dominate every aspect of this game and get lots of pt for the pups hampton-53 wg-6 cloudland(4-1) vs north greene(4-0)-north greene is better than they have been in the past few seasons but still not good enough to beat cloudland cloudland-36 ng-13 happy valley(3-1) vs johnson co.(2-2)-caldwell cruises to 1000 passing yards and hv wins with a balanced attack and an aggressive defense and gets the job done against jc unlike certain teams hv-28 jc-20 greeneville(1-3) vs elizabethton(1-3)-etown uses an efficient passing attack to stay on track etown-21 gville-7 unaka(1-4) vs cosby(2-3)-unaka really needs this win and gets it, but alot closer than expected unaka-13 cosby-12
  3. will got his in on friday(17 carries for 161 yards and 1 td). drew is averaging over 100 yards a game receiving this year. why should todd not get the ball in his hands when no one has been able to stop him? last year, todd had around a 1/1 td/int ratio. this year it is 2.5-3/1 td/int ratio. thats not horrible. he also has around 950 yards in 4 games. i think hv's line isnt as weak as people see. the anchor of the line(daniel guinn) has been out up until this past friday from an ankle injury and hv had around 200 rushing yards against gatlinburg-pittman, most of which came from lowe. the coaches can now focus on gettin the ball into all of their playmakers hands with a full line.
  4. hv showed a few of cc's best friday against gp. offense todd caldwell threw for 200+ yards and 3 tds with just one int. drew davis received 100+ yards and 2 tds. will lowe had 150+ rushing yards and 2 tds. these 3 are complimented by rb/wr ryan garland, wr greg swafford(50+ yards and 1 td) and wr daniel shankle. defense lowe and logan birchfield had 10+ tackles a piece and a couple sacks as well. davis had an int. jon calandros was a demon as a pass rusher having more than a handful of qb hurries and a couple sacks. my player of the game would have to be will lowe. he was everywhere on offense and on defense. it was a thing of beauty to watch him run the ball. no way did the first man make the tackle. if i had to make an estimate, id say he broke 25+ tackles on the night. potter is a good fullback, but it will be very hard for him to prove he is better than lowe. on defense, he was just as good. when a play was needed, he was somewhere in the picture. if he wasnt in the immediate tackle, he was somewhere in the pile.
  5. i dont know about playing tackle to tackle. todd has only been sacked a couple times in 3 games and is rarely pressured. if u dont blitz, he will pick u apart and dont try n act like u have the athletes to cover a garland, swafford, davis, shankle, and lowe. im not saying hampton isnt athletic. its hard to cover an all state wr, 2 all conference wr, and an all conference fb coming out of the backfield all being thrown to by an all conference qb. i see hv having trouble stopping hamptons power game, but if hampton plays into hvs tempo, it will be very hard to stop hvs offense.
  6. hvs line isnt consistent enough to run the ball. they have great rbs but not enough power on the line. thats why they throw short passes. its like extended runs. the good thing about this game is gp isnt powerful this year either and rely on file/reagan alot. our dbs can deal with that.

    happy valley vs gatlinburg-pittman
  8. unaka(1-3) vs hampton(2-1)-unaka is simply overmatched and jc get reserves in early hampton-49 unaka-6 gatlinburg-pittman(1-2) vs happy valley(2-1)-hv finally gets the big win over gp with an impressive air attack happy valley-28 gp-14 elizabethton(0-3) vs north(2-1)-etown finally gets its offense together and finally gets a win etown-20 north-14 cloudland(3-1) vs williamsburg, ky-cloudland slips by ky in this one cloudland-14 wburg-13
  9. the passer, no matter if rb or qb or w/e, is put in a vulnerable position and, if hit late or in and unnecessary fashion(ie hit in the head), roughing the passer can be called.
  10. lol, kim, dont even try to compare south to hurley. hurley is one of the worst A teams in va while south could be the best team in their AAAA region. hv was in the game until they fumbled it about 5 straight times. dont make me question my decision regarding ur intelligence. i want to think ur a level headed guy but with statements like that, its hard to believe that. as for zimmerman, like it or not, something like that can affect the rest of ur season. the players may not admit it, but it is in their heads that their field general is gone. he wrote a whole lot of checks that unaka cant cash and they will pay for that.
  11. if there are no off field issues with uhs, then why is zimmerman gone? it seems like for the past 2 years he has been the talker on the team and losing him will deflate them, thus leading to losses to teams like ummmmmm hurley.
  12. hampton(1-1) vs unicoi co.(0-3)- hampton outmans uc on both lines but ucs qbs give hampton fits and make it closer than it should be hampton 27 unicoi co 10 cherokee(2-0) vs cloudland(3-0)- cloudland keeps it close with smashmouth football but cherokees depth and speed proves too much for the landers cherokee 31 cloudland 21 temple(0-2) vs unaka(1-2)- unakas off the field troubles catch up to them on the field in another disappointing loss to an inferior opponent temple 12 unaka 7
  13. im pretty sure hv plays next week and not this week
  14. idk bout domination. uc has some good qbs but ill take hampton by 17.
  15. this should be a very boring week in carter county. there will be 4 blowouts and one nail-biter. hampton(0-1) vs jellico(1-1) jellico is much improved but has absolutely no chance to stop hamptons running game. potter will have 150-200 rushing yards. hampton 40 jellico 6 cloudland(2-0) vs cosby(0-2) no comment needed cloudland 48 cosby 12 unaka(0-2) vs grace(0-2) unaka=bad, grace=horrible unaka 36 grace 0 tn high(1-0) vs etown(0-2) a fired up etown comes out and shuts down tn highs passing game and with a little luck, wins the game etown 20 tn high 14 happy valley(1-1) vs west greene(0-2) caldwell and davis scorch another defense for 250+ yards and a big win happy valley 47 west greene 7
  16. how is mo west considered in the knox area?
  17. another lopsided victory. i like keith better. alot more 40-0 scores rather than 60-0. that extra 20 shows nothing. u get just as much work in and less controversy, either way its domination.

west greene is a conference opponent u nimwit. we had no choice but to play them and when it comes to home games, conference opponents get their choice before out of conference. this year would have been another good opportunity to play cloudland since hv and etown split, but again, cloudland wanted home and so did hv. either way, it wasnt chs turn to host the game. it was time to renew the contract and during that period, it is no teams turn to host. if an agreement cant be reached, the new contract is thrown out. hv wont drop hampton, unicoi, or johnson county to pick up cloudland. the only chance for hv and cloudland to renew its rivalry is either for hv to pick up a 6th away game(hv is AA while cloudland is A, its not gonna happen) or cloudland to give in and give hv the first of the home and home. id love to see hv play cloudland, but its more about politics and money than "fear of the opponent" so quit giving urself the big head.

thats the attitude i wanna see a team player showing. "were not even worried about the best team in our conference"-yeah, ur definitely a jv or freshman player. lol, state? STATE? ull be lucky to make it past the first round of the playoffs, mark my word.

when u redo contracts, u dont necesarily go home-away-home-away-home-away, sometimes a team ends up playing two in a row at home. my jr and sr years hv played west greene away. thats just because of renewing contracts. we only had 4 home games, cloudland declined an offer to play at hv so we took north greene instead. it wasnt the better game, but u have to be fair to the fans and players. i took pride in playing on my home field and as much as i wanted to play cloudland, i wasnt gonna sacrifice my last home game for it.

actually redwall, u are completely wrong as are most people who rant on hv/cloudland. hv didnt mind to play hv the last couple years, but cloudland wanted home games. thats the problem with cloudland right now, they want everyone to come up to orr field. i like the atmosphere, but as far as the field, i wouldnt step foot on that field again. but its more about money and politics then anything, why should hv play cloudland and make a little money when they could play etown(the case in the past few years) and make 3-5xs more money? when i played, none of the players would object to playing cloudland, i wanted to. thats not the players call though. of course, my freshman year was the last year that hv played cloudland and i didnt go to hv that year. i went to a real school, a little school named maryville. why bring up hv/cloudland anyways? that has nothing to do with this.

    Cody Bryant

this is my kind of player. when i was a sr at hv, we had 4 starters that were 5'6" or shorter, including me, and 2 or 3 others that were 2nd teamers and played alot. despite the major size difference in most games, we still managed a 9-1 regular season record and proved that heart can go a whole lot farther than size in many cases.
  24. db should have no problem in this game. south cant cover the pass for anything and gets caught off guard often against the run. they dont have a passing game but mcmillan is a good hard runner. they like to put it in a shotgun with a single back and go back in forth with inside dives and counters. if u can stop the counter, it will be over in the 1st quarter.
