  1. I will agree with you also. Lincoln County would not score 80 on you guys or no one else. Remember, that was the first game of the season, and like inot2bad said, the Falcon 'D" is ten times better than that first game... and I'm sure you would say that Franklin is a better team than that first game also. I think it would be hard for an opposing team to score 30 against this "D"... only if they have a mental breakdown, it might happen. Lincoln County should go undefeated the rest of the way. They will beat Warren County by a great deal. I'm just praying for no serious injuries before playoff time gets here
  2. I heard their stats last night too, and what I think that they are doing is giving a player credit for a full rush when the play when it is called back for a penality, you cannot do that and make the numbers balance out at the end of the game. The way we do it is to give the player credit for the rush up to the point where the penality was commited, unless the penality carries the ball back behind the original line of scrimmage, then it doesn't count as an official rush. Josh and Michael both had several long runs called back last night or they would have had many more yards rushing than they did, and on the year too. Believe me I will try to give Josh and Michael both every inch that's possible, but you have to do it this way for the numbers to balance out at the end of the game. As far as Jake Nunley, I had him for 27 carries for 28 yards, but I could have been off a yard or two either way. He definitely had more than 15 carries, every time I looked up he had the ball. He had been averaging about 29 carries a game, and 230 or so rushing yards a game, and he had about his usual number of carries last night.. I agree with your stats. 27 carries for 28 yds. is correct. Thanks for your expertise on how stats are calculated.

    KARNS ?

Thanks for your post. 70% pass is pretty scary!
  4. Coffee County will probably kick butts and take names next year. You do have some incredible young talent on your team. Lincoln County probably won't be singing as loud next year with the loss of many seniors, but we'll keep singing until the song is sung.
  5. That they can be better is a SCARY thought. They are definitely better than they were in week 0 when they played Franklin. Franklin is a good team, but no way will they or anyone else score 33 points on the Falcon D again. They have matured as a defensive unit. And, I agree wholeheartedly on the class of the Coffee County fans. The concern they showed for Mr. Henry was touching and speaks volumes for the character of those folks. It puts the game in perspective when a man's life is in danger. Ditto to your remarks that it puts a game in perspective when a life is in danger!

    KARNS ?

I'm interested in the profile of these two teams DB and Jefferson County. Are they balanced teams or does one like to run more than pass or vise versa?
  7. I second that thought.

    KARNS ?

Speaking for Lincoln County, this team can even be better than they are showing right now. I haven't seen DB, but know a match up with LC would be great. I hope LC pay strict attention to this loss. It could very well happen to them if they don't bring their A game. As for DB, this was a big upset for the records, but doesn't mean a thing as far as the playoffs. One loss doesn't prevent you from winning a state title. This will probably make them more focused for the playoffs. Lincoln County will take it one game at a time, and maybe we will see you down the road. Congrats to KARNS for your big victory
  9. So, someone tell me what does this lost to the Patriots do as far as the standings in your region? I know that Riverdale is 1st, what is it after that now?
  10. I echo everyone's thoughts on Mr. Henry. That was a terrible thing that happen to him. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family. Fantasy 105 Manchester's Radio Station had Nunley at getting 31 yards on about 15 carries. They had Gregory for about 106 yds. Lincoln County's "D" was unbelievable! It is a scary thought, but I believe they can even play better. The offense did score 46 pts., but I thought as a unit, didn't play their best game. They definitely can play better. The passing game was off, but not because of Edmiston. His receivers dropped several that should have been caught for TDs. It seems that when Edmiston is on with his passes, the receivers drop them, and when he is not having a good passing game, they catch more passes. If we ever get them on the same page during a game, add that to the running game, there is no telling what this team can do. Manchester's fans were classy at least to me. I enjoyed watching the game there.
  11. Will Nunley get 100 yds against our Falcon defense? Maybe...Maybe not... but if he does get 100 yds or better, more power to him. I don't care if he gets 400 as long as Lincoln County comes out in front on the scoreboard. I'll take the win and give him the yds any day. PS, He may get 100 yds. but he will remember after this game how tough they were to come by.
  12. Thanks a million for the link to this article that was in the Huntsville Times! I have passed it on to several LC Fans. Good luck to the BIG RED MACHINE for the remainder of the year!
  13. Your post is so "stupid" it really doesn't warrant a reply... but anyway, maybe your team should play Lincoln County, Franklin, Riverdale each year. We only played Howard to have a 10th game. With that being said, Howard could make a better game of it next year. Lincoln County fans are not talking smack about this win or any others. We're happy for all the wins that come our way this year, but we know what a difference a year makes, and next year we could be on the other end with someone else talking smack.
  14. CONGRATS to the Franklin Rebels and former Lincoln County standout Coach Tim Johnson for your big win!!!
  15. Well said. I wasn't on that side, but can only imagine what was said. Sounds like some of them could have had something besides just Coke in their cups. I'm glad someone at least made them stop. Unfortunately, you have those kinds of fans too, and usually those are the ones that the visiting team remembers when they leave. As far as returning the favor next year, they are coming back over here again next year. That was the deal. Hopefully they will have a more "sober" experience when they come back. Good luck Howard!! Having a more "SOBER" experience is exactly what I am referring too
  16. I just hope that last Friday's game against Howard don't get the Falcons out of sync. Lewis will have to practice them much harder this week to gain that intensity back. I'm sure that the Falcon "D" will be fired up and looking forward to the task of trying to stop Jake Nunley. Will he get a 100 yards?, it remains to be seen, but one things for sure, if our "D"plays to it's potential, it will be the hardest game he'll have all year trying to get 100. As far as Thompson Bowl "I", I just wonder if the number will stop at "I"?
  17. Howard was just over matched in last night's game. I do agree with some that they have talent, but not a well coached team. Yes the score could have been more melancholy than it was if you will, but the Falcon coaching staff did a marvelous job of getting the horses out of the game. I would like to apologize to the Howard players on the sidelines on behalf of a few of our idiot fans, who... let's just say weren't quite themselves to be nice, for shouting expletives at them as they rooted their team on. I'm not making excuses for them, but I'm sure if they were their actual selves, they wouldn't have done that. We need to remember, these are 15-18 year old kids trying to do their best out on that field. These are not professional NFL players you’re screaming junk at. I'm sure it hurt those kids’ feelings. Several other fans and I were embarrassed. A few of us let them know that it wouldn't be tolerated, and they did bring it to a halt. I assure you Howard Tigers, most of Lincoln County fans don't act like that... well, especially when we are in our right minds. I'm sure you can read between the lines to know what I am talking about (weren't quite themselves) with this post. Thanks for making the long trip down to the PIT so that we could have a 10th game. I hope that we return the favor next year.
  18. Anyone think there was a better offensive team in LC than the 1990 team? I don't think so
  19. This is a joke right? Are you a Franklin County Rebel or a Franklin Rebel?
  20. I don't know how fatty Phil will view it if both were at Tennessee, but back in high school, Lewis Thompson saw the raw talent that Michael possessed, and started him before Cooter. Michael was hurt during the season and Cooter took over the helm. Cooter came in and lit a fire in that offense. He did a good job when his number was called.
  21. Yes, Marshall is very interested in Edmiston, but at what position, I don't know. One thing is for sure, if Jamal Lloyd from Nebraska can play QB, Michael can be taught by someone to be a good QB. I've watched Jamal during the course of his college career, and he is not the best passer, but has good wheels. Michael has that raw talent that just needs a bit tweaking by a good college system.
  22. Correct me if I am wrong... I don't have facts in front of me, but I think that 1984-85 team had Ricky Blake at the RB. I agree that this team was the best team that didn't win the title. The best overall offensive team that ever graced the field in Lincoln County in my opinion was the 1990 team of Kelly Holcumb, Rod Buchanan (sorry spelling on each if wrong). They could score from anywhere, at anytime. The 1984-85 team was primarily a running team, but did it better than anyone in the state at that time. They most definetly had the best athletes of all Lincoln County Teams. Lincoln County should have more state titles to their credit. Several teams should have won the title, but were upset. So, let this be a lesson to this year's team. You want win it just because your suppose too on paper!
  23. Pardon my french. I was just responding to where you said that MTSU or Tennessee Tech would not even consider him at the QB position from your prospective. You say that "he needs about 25 additional pounds." Don't you think that during the course of his college career, someone's conditioning program will add 25 pounds to him? Listen, this kid can play QB! You can see the major improvement from over last year. His decision making skills are not slow... I will admit that sometimes he holds the ball too long, but that is correctable mechanics. I don't think he has a problem if recruited for another position.
  24. They loved his name at Tennessee too when he stood up and introduced himself! They also loved his 4.0 GPA
  25. Mcneeley06, I just want to know, who do you recruit for? I thought that I read a post with you stating that you do recruiting. If so, I wouldn't want you recruiting for me, if you think that Michael Edmiston for Lincoln County is not a good QB. I don't know how many games you have actually watched him play, and I assume the one that you did, Michael may have had a sub par game. Surely, your assessment is not based on one game? Michael can play QB division I if given the opportunity. He's got the tools, and has proven that to most everyone in the state who follow his play. If someone is willing to get him in their system, and work with him, he's going to make someone a good QB! He's definitely without a doubt, one of the best in the state.
