  1. Will Howard bring many fans down to the "PIT" for this game, or does anyone there care?
  2. If Josh said that, this is great news! I hope he can play at least a quarter to get ready for the coffee county game...not looking past this game. If the Falcons can do it without him, I would just let him rest it, and make sure he is 100% for the next game that means more than this Friday night's game. I would like to see the Falcons come out; play hard, get a big lead, and Lewis take the starters out after halftime to preserve injuries. Getting those other kids in the game will just be an asset for the team in the playoffs. GO FALCONS!!!

    Oakland v. Riverdale

From an outsider's prospective, I don't see the PATS having the horses to stay with the WARRIORS in this one! Riverdale in my opinion is one of the best 2 loss teams in the state. I know that this has been one of the greatest rivalries of all times, which usually play a role in the outcome, but not this one. Riverdale just has too many horses this year. I wish you both well! I wish I could be there to see this one, but it is homecoming at Lincoln County.
  4. Running up the SCORE!!! What is all this talk about running up the score? If you add up all of Lincoln County's final scores : 38 against Franklin, 51 against Blackman, 26 against Riverdale, 41 against Franklin County, 51 against Oakland, and 41 against Cookeville, it seems that Lincoln County averages 41 pts. Per game. I'd say that they would have to have scored around 60 or 70 pts. to be considered as running up the score. I guess our coaches should just tell our kids to give them a 40 pt. head start before we start to play And what is this about charging to park at a high school game? That is the most ridiculous and absurd thing that I have ever heard! Cookeville should be ashamed of themselves to even charge the visiting team's fans to park. This is a first that I have heard any school doing this!
  5. Any more word on the injury of Josh Gregory? Will he be ok to play this week against Howard?
  6. I haven't seen Link, but saw Wolke on CSS against Riverdale who didn't have a great game that night. With that being said, I could still see that he possessed the tools of a good quarterback. Without seeing them all, it wouldn't be fair for me to pass judgment on who is the best. I do know that Edmiston is a better than average passer when turned loose to pass the football. His receivers are average, and sometimes this can hurt a QBs performance. Edmiston's receivers have improved over the course of the season, which will allow him to throw the ball more times per game, which will make him more visible as a passer. I hear that he is being courted by Tennessee, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, Marshall, MTSU, Memphis, and some others. My advise to any of these guys being looked at by division I teams, First, decide what you intend to major in when you go to college. If you want to major in the medical field, then MTSU isn't the place to go. Choose a school that fits that profile. If what you wish to major in fits MTSU's profile, then consider that college and so on. Next, narrow it down to the ones that intend to give you a full ride. Use football to get your education, not to try and get to the NFL. This is first and most important. If you perform well during your college career, the NFL will come calling. If not, then you have a "FREE" degree if you received a full ride, and can go out into the real world, and be competitive for the best jobs. Also, you will be prepared after the NFL if you make it. Most athletes make the mistake of just trying to make it to the NFL and major in bowling, or golf (ect.) just to get by... What kind of job do you plan on getting in these fields if you don't make it to the NFL, which is what the initials stand for "NOT FOR LONG"? Keep a network with someone who will guide you in the right direction. You only get one shot at this college thing, so take your time and make the right decisions. Don't take the first scholarship that is put on the table. Research and do your homework on these schools. I wish you all the best!
  7. Man, it sounds like someone is running for Mayor of Manchester on here I thought this was suppose to be a football conversation. Anyway, Falcons are looking forward coming to Manchester in a few weeks to play you guys!
  8. Falcon4, you are cutting it close aren't you. Time to go to work! I'll handle the light weight for ya.
  9. Well, I now know more about Manchester and Tullahoma than I ever new or wanted to know. All of this talk is good, but I want to know who is going to win the game between the Raiders and the Rebels? Will the Raiders bounce back from their disappointing loss? Same said for the Rebels. I have many friends from both Manchester and Winchester and have love for both of these programs.
  10. The Falcons are poised and ready to fly "Bandit". Yes, they are mostly the same team as last year, but one more year of experience makes all the difference. I'm sure Coach Rankin from Riverdale will tell you the same thing.
  11. Gotta go with the Lincoln County homeboy (Coach Tim Johnson) and the Franklin Rebels in this one! I think you got a heck of a team this year.
  12. The first thing I did was look for it to be on tonight, but to no avail. I don't know what's up either bro! I give up!
  13. A lot of those "press clippings," particularly on here have not been by Falcon fans. Most of the serious Falcon fans and Falcon coaches are discouraging their players from even getting on here and reading all this hype. Coach Thompson knows quite well how easy it is to come up on the short end of one you were suppose to have won. I doubt many Falcon fans have already bought playoff tickets. They understand football pretty well in Lincoln County. It goes one game at a time....and unfortunately for Cookeville, their number is up next. inot2bad is absolutely right on! We Lincoln County Fans are not on here talking smack. Sure we are proud of our young men. They have suffered through a few loosing seasons and we understand what it took to get to this level, and understand when you are at this level, you are being hunted each week. If you have kept up with posts from most of our fans, we have been encouraging our young men to don't get caught up in the hype, and take it one game at a time. We have even been criticized on here for saying take it one game at a time, and for being modest.
  14. Just for the record, Riverdale also got one TD that was a fumble at the goal line. Our paper got a clear picture of it. With that being said, Riverdale is a long way from being weak! On second thought, let's all just pretend that we didn't read this thread (Riverdale Weak!). I'd like to see the Raiders play Franklin or Riverdale regular season. Franklin's passing attack will take you apart, and Riverdale will just keep sending those 150 players on the sidelines in the game, wearing you out, like they did our Falcons. I also agree with you that the competition will get tougher in the playoffs. There won't be too many of those 51 - 0 games in the playoffs.
  15. Whoa now, how can you say that Riverdale is weak? In my opinion, they have lost 2 games to 2 good teams. You may get your shot at them in the playoffs. I'm a Lincoln County fan, but will venture to say that if we meet them again in the playoffs, they could upset us...well it really won't be an upset because they are still a good team. They very much shut us down the 4th quarter.
  16. Better to be modest than eat crow "Blue". I do agree that Lincoln County will win. On paper, it looks as if they will win big. I understand that Cookeville has a good running back that could cause us problems. I'm just hoping this is not the week of a let down for the Falcons with the long road trip and all. I also hope our kids will continue to be modest, don't get caught up the hype that they read (everyone saying they will win the state), don't start talking about the state which is a long ways off, and continue to concentrate on the team at hand. GO FALCONS
  17. I would like to say one thing; Middle Tennessee has some classy fans out there. That is mighty big stuff of most of you saying that Lincoln County is your choice to win the state this year. I hope that you are right being a Falcon fan! One thing is for sure, it will not be just handed to the Falcons. We have many good teams in middle that might have a say on this topic... Franklin, Dickson County, Gallatin, and you can't rule out the Warriors just to name a few. Then, there's that beast in the east called Dobynns-Bennett... not too familiar with the west, but usually Germantown is up there. I have to agree with Lincoln County QB Michael Edmiston for Mr. Football! He's got to be the best overall athlete on the gridiron. Lincoln County is whipping everyone rather easily as of now, but teams will be ready for our Falcons in the playoffs, and those scores will be much closer. Enjoy it while it lasts Lincoln County fans! Next year should be a rebuilding year, and teams may blow us out just as we are them this year.
  18. DITTO! One of the very first games that was broadcast between if I am not mistaken Riverdale vs Smyrna, I saw that one on CSS Channel 75 with the Fayetteville Electric Cable.
  19. Hey fellow Falcon Fans, help me out, I missed the stats from the Oakland game. How many yards did Josh Gregory get against the Patriots?
  20. I posted this thread earlier this week. Lincoln County scrimmaged Dickson back in August and beat them rather easily. With that being said, you could see the talent that Dickson County had that day that wasn't displayed during the scrimmage. Dickson County has always been a team that just line up and smack you in the face! It definitely would be a great "slobber knocker" football game to see. If they both keep winning, who knows, it may be coming to "PIT" near you.
  21. Yea, I can beleive they haven't broadcast a game from the PIT. CSS thinks nobody has a highschool football team below the Murfreesboro area. If Murfreesboro wasn't so close to Nashville, they probably wouldn't get any air time either The only reason we were on was because we traveled to Oakland. Vise versa, this game wouldn't have been even thought of by CSS as the game of the week.
  22. I think I was the first to post on this subject and again I say it was a ploy to keep Falcon fans home. As far as Blake Fulton, the only reason that I listen to 99.7 is because I can't pick up 104.5 the Zone clearly during my drive home in the afternoons. I usually don't care to talk negative on hear, but there's my 50 cents worth.
  23. I set my VCR to css to record the game I left home dropped my son at Riverdale, gave him a cell phone to call me with reports-then went to Oakland watched LCHS stomp Oakland now I am at home watching the game I recorded.............IT is LCHS VS Oakland ---I got it on my Tv! It was not on our TV in Fayetteville. They announced for weeks that it would be on. I think CSS will show the replay sometime next week is what they are now saying.
