Greenville and Mortown West do hate each other. This game will bring out the best and worst in the players and fans. I think this game will be close. West 24 G-ville 21 Go Trojans

Mr.T, I feel your pain. I was talking to one of the DB mother and father and all they could say "My boy played good". MY, me its all the same. I, me, my, where are the words us, we, our team??? One of the problems is the parents. I know of a couple of Dads that hound Coach about their boy, play my boy here, give him the ball more, my boy is better than the one starting etc. My boy played for Coach Woods, started two years, the only thing I ever said to Coach about my boy, Thank you for helping me raise my son into a man, he is a better person having been coached by you and your staff. Parents need to leave the coaching to the coaching staff. I saw my son get chewed out by Coach Thompson one game and he needed it, it made him a better player and made him better prepared for life. Parents need to be parents, teach them to do what the coaching staff says, not bad mouth the coaching staff. Go Trojans

This is a big time program one that has earned respect over the past several years. I will always support the team, the players and the coachs but this is not little league. Lets call black, black and white, white. This team is in trouble and there will have to be some type of major chane to fix it. Maybe moving around the personal, coach Woods and company have a way of fiting players where they should be. I don't think you give up on this year but if things don't get better and the conf. slips away then maybe you use the rest of the year to prepare for the future...maybe. If it can be fixed then Coach Wood and Coach Brown will get it fixed....Go Trojans!!!

Its been hard to watch this group of boys. They have the talent, smarts and everything it takes to make a championship team....except heart, team work, and the dedication. Its like they think just because their West high the games are a giveme and their is no respect for the other teams. They seem to have no respect for what it took to get the program to what it is today or what it was the last few years. It is if they forget the blood and sweat of past teams. I watched this team in the spring and fall and again a week ago and it seems that they are just going threw the motions. The coaching staff are coaching their hearts out but their is no senior leadership on the team....but their is a lot of I. What will Coach Woods do?

West had it handed to them last night. The O line just eat up the west defence, and that Russell kid has all the heart in the world. Coach Smith had his boys ready to play and you have to feel good for him, his coaching staff, the kids and all the people on the east end of town. If coach Smith gets a few more good coaches on his staff he will make winning a tradition over at East. I knew West was in trouble when they "walked" on the field and then got stopped on the first series. What is wrong at West....Well I'll tell you. Cocky, attitude, no heart. This group of boys has the talent to win but they think they will win just because their West, its like they don't understand that winning is not a give me. They don't have respect for what has been done at West, the other team or for their own coaching staff. Well this thread is not about West. CONGRATS EAST good luck the rest of the year, play hard and trust what coach Smith and his staff tells you.

I think that M-town West got out coached. The onside kick to start the game set the tone. JC was much more discipline. West looked like they had better athlete's and more size they just got out played. West has a great coaching staff but they are bent on not playing the best athlete's both ways, and I understand in a close game that could make the difference in the 4th but it has cost them some games. Maryville has a lot of states under their belts and they play both ways. Pride in the way things where done in Bama may cost Coach Woods state. West also does not have the QB as in years past. To run couters, draws out of the I you have to be able to pass. West has not been able to pass the last two years. By years end West will win the region and go 3rd maybe 4th. Roger- I just wanted to tell you that Jive started in 29 games for the Trojans. And he wasn't too shabby.

oh not so fast my friend. al mari is a real person. a real scary person. he hasn't played any this year because he's been in a training camp since last december. somethin happened with his plane ticket(the camp is in sweeden) and he couldn't get back in time for the reg. season or playoffs. but dont worry the mira is back. i think he's bulked up to about 265 this past year and has retained his 4.3 speed. oh yeah i heard somethin about a bus bein flipped over somewhere near highway 160 in morristown. deffinataly al mira related.

The reason West went up the middle is that they are better than Maryville. The field did not aid West in any way both teams played on it and it was in good shape. West didn't get any breaks, they made the breaks. Stop crying, YOU GOT BEAT.

thank goodness for true maryville people like Rebel Ron, mhs, and Starsnbars. they are the perfect example of class, as are most maryville fans. but understand morristown west also has such people- the young unclassy ones have been on here though. just remember every team has the good and bad fans

i apoligize for any west fans who are unclassy, but seriously all teams have those people who make them look bad. so don't let a few individuals represent a whole town. great game maryville, hopefully we can bring it back to the east.

First let me say that Maryville is a class act. They are well coached and have great kids and fans. But I have to disagree with some of the Reb fans, I don't think that they played bad, I think they just ran into a team that was better today and that made them look like they had a bad game. I have to say from the home side Maryville played hard from the get go and the took advantage of the mistakes West made and made a great come back. It was one of those games where you feel for the other team......What makes this such a great win for West is that they beat a great football team.
