I guess that would be Warren Co. they are 2-0. All other teams in the region have lost atleast one game.

Warren Co returns the opening kickoff for TD. Then after a couple of penalties defence holds. Warren sroces on a punt return for TD. Dekalb county has a very long sustained drived (sustained by about 4 15 yard penalties on 4 and 14) and defences holds. Warren Co offense finally gets to play with something like 7 minutes left in the first half. Goes the length of the field in about 3 plays - another TD. Anyway Warren Co is up at the half 35-0. Starters score the first TD and after first defense holds the first couple of possessions the rest of the team plays out the rest of the game. Tony Garibaldi was 6 for 6 on PATs and 8 for 8 on kicks to the end zone - none were returned by Dekalb. Probably the worst officiating I have ever seen in a HS game. Warren Co did not play perfect by any means. Defense showed a few weak spots occasionally - had several missed tackles. Running backs had to be very quick to get around a few of the missed blocking assignments. Warren Co remains atop of region 3 for the seconds week! Now time to go to LC.

The website with the rules is www.nfhs.org but I'm not one of the privledged few to be a member so I don't have a password. Yes, its a password protected rule book. I would have thought it would be open to everybody. Last night I saw what I thought was clearly a penalty but there was no flag. A Player waved his arm over his head for a fair catch on a kickoff - he caught the ball and ran with it and there was a whistle to mark the ball at the catch but no flag for running with the ball after the catch. I was the only one in the stands that stood up and yelled like an idiot "he's running with the ball - throw a flag". All I got was strange looks from my fellow fans.

Who is the new coach and please tell us about him. I think DCHS lost a coach, hired one and then he left and didn't have a coach line up until late in the summer but I never heard who was chosen or what his plan may be for the team this year. (Excuse me for interupting the original tread).

Muffin is obviously the "man to beat" by looking at THE BIGS ONES after week one but even he/she/it missed this one. Yeah I missed this one too. I just wasn't so sure of myself as to predict a score. I'd say the crowd was flat in Crossville partially due to the heat and a low scoring game. (Although the football players hate when I complain about the weather when sitting in the stands). I've always thought Cumberland County was hard to predict. The beat good teams most every year and seem to struggle with weaker teams.

How do you tell which school is in first place in region 3 5A after week 0?

Warren County Wins 34 -12 over Bradley Co. Both goal post came down after the game. Will probably have to work on going for two for next week! Tony Garibaldi (Sophmore) was 4 for 4 on extra points (the other was a bad snap) and he kicked 3 kickoffs to the end zone.

If everyone plays in '05 that played in '04 the number of payers will double in '05. There were 7 seniors and like 36 freshmen on the '04 squad. I hope all the coaches stay but I would not be suprised if there were one or two changes. I don't see don't see Coach Madewell quiting just because of one bad season. I think he will stay and give the football program some consistency and will make WC competative again.

About time somebody gets jealous of Warren Co.

One of the best 6-3 teams (Franklin Co.) against what I preceive as the weakest 9-1 team in Cookeville. Cookeville plays very much "like a team" and the hustle really well (or really good - ask your English teacher). REbs have the ability to make some big plays and keep it close. The FCHS band plays Dixie at least 3 times but predict the Cavs win it by a touchdown. I'm pullin' for the rebs to win!! (maybe I just don't like Cookeville enough).

Maybe they need more money. They don't get paid much. Maybe if I didn't yell at them so much might help too. What 24 year old wants a buch on old men like us yelling at him for 2 hours every friday night.

I hope Whitehaven wins so we will all have something confusing to talk about!!! As for losing teams in the playoffs - I think they should be forced to forfeit round 1 if they have a losing schedule - giving the other team a bye in the first round. There shoud be some decent standards. This wont happen however due to the extra $$$ TSSAA would receive.

Anybody got this one figured out? Ridiculous that they are in the same region and don't play each other.

Somebody will have to explain to me what happens if they pull it off - and they just might - Whithaven is a pretty good team.

This is Great! I watched the Soddy game a couple of times. If I was an Owl fan I'd really enjoy the highlight video clip but being a neutral party I would have liked to have seen a more balance game highlight video. This video would leave you to believe the score was 21-0 with absolutely no success on the field by SD. Actually the score was 21-17. Thanks again for a great website and promoting your school (don't care to much for the background music though - I'm an old fuddy duddy).

Warren County's band plays the "Pirates of the Caribbean" and they do a real good job but I'm always afraid they will play it when we are lined up against the Buccaneers or Pirates. They also do the Florida State type tomahawk chop thingy which is really neat but NOT when the "Pioneers" are playing the White County "Warriors". Makes Warren County feel like the Pioneers of old all closed up in a fort with thousands of "Indians" and "Warriors" about to burn the fort and there are no "Red Raiders" or "Cavilers" coming to the rescue; the "Jets" are firing at the wrong side and the "Falcons" are circling overhead!!! Quit scary!

I'm not one to pay close attention to the band - usually manage to miss halftime activities - but is it just me or does it seem like everybody is playing Rocky Top this year? Great tune but enough is enough.

Franklin County plays it - Cumberland County will play it about once per game - I always have to stand and cheer even if they are whippin' us.
