I assume they were looking at the bottom tier of teams. I'm a region 1 guy and from what I understand at least right now about these teams is they may not win but they will have the opportunity to play better games. It also means that 7 games on their schedule are covered and they have to find fewer games. Logistically though I agree with you it's a travel nightmare for Carter county teams and a lot of travel even for Cosby and North Greene who are closer. Again not saying it's the right decision or the most logical decision but from what I understand those may be some of the reasons.
I bet Sunbright would have made a different decision if they had known Hampton would be 1a.

Sunbright is in region 1 because they asked to be they felt they could be more competitive there.
They would be more competitive in the Region 4 as I suggested. Hampton and Cloudland will stomp their guts out.
-
At least it appears the TSSAA balanced out the classes. There are now 51 teams in 1a not counting Hampton which means 1a will end up with 52 and 2a with 48. Sunburnt should be moved out of Region 1 and sent out to the region with Celina, Red Boiled Egg, Jo Burnt and unInnovative Academy.
I don't know when they did that, but it was well after Oct 8, 2024.

I just have to not get deep in a hole the 1st 2 weeks. Last year would have been my best year if I hadn't done that.

The down year for SP was last year, when their whole team was young and they graduated a bunch of seniors from 2023, this year they’ll be back to hoisting gold, literally a normal day for them
You aren't from around here are you?

Meigs plays Chattanooga Prep first game of the season this year. They a pretty good team?
They were pretty good last year. However, there are rumblings that a few of their all-stars went elsewhere. They had one of the best young QB's in the state last year. They were loaded with talent, but drew the plays up in the huddle.

Was just wondering the defensive player mentioned previously.
He left before the 2024 season after the 2023 title game.

Farrior was a senior in 2023. He’s talking about the best returning defensive player for 2024 would have been one that left. At least I think that’s what he means.
That's what I was talking about.

People still call Reggie bush a Heisman trophy winner. “Punishing” them after the fact doesn’t really change much. How did they just now discover this?
I don't know, but it made the national news.

Tssaa will squash a school because of a transfer. But will let schools hide numbers under the same roof by calling it an academy. They should have to forfeit their runner up trophy to.
They got stripped of the runner-up trophy.

Melrose has it rolling in Memphis too and has more history to help pull kids in than MASE.
I may be completely wrong but just don’t see them giving as much trouble in 2A unless they are much better than they were last year. They beat a 4-6 Peabody team 14-9 and lose that game to McKenzie 9/10 times
Melrose just got squashed like a bug by the TSSAA.

South Pitt should mercy rule their way to the single A state championship. They were a solid favorite before they got a ton of transfers. Single A roster with 60 to 70 kids will allow them to play one way if they choose to do so. Good luck to the rest of single A in the future.
SP also lost 3 or 4 players to transfer. 60 or 70? As the Mayor used to say, LMBO.

1. McKenzie / SP
3-10. Usual suspects
I think this will be a down year for SP. SP will be small up front and one of the slowest backfields since Patrick Nelson was Tailback. The Defense is going to be suspect all the way around.

I was going to refrain from posting, but your right, that is the one the Boosters got caught paying rent for. I’m just wondering how many before him ?
Good luck getting them to admit any wrongdoing on here though, they definitely learned and took notes from it. Hence the Homeless Act they dug up and used for the kid from Rome even though he had a perfectly good home in Georgia, he just couldn’t play football there. If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck…..well you get it! This NiL era in high school sports is going to be good to the SP Pirates, not so much for places with tight pocketed boosters and low populations with a communities who could care less about High School Football.Yep! Right there, you clearly mention Rome Ga and the Homeless Act.

I never said Rome kid had anything to do with that he wasn’t even a thought then, I didn’t post anything about the geography of Franklin County either where did that come from? I don’t have too when you got half a dozen of them after playing them and embarrassing them the past couple years non the less! Plus more coming I’m sure if the parents keep doing the dirty work for the booster club 😭 . You are the one need reading comprehension, the kids name was Gio Davis If im not mistaken. That’s who scoop was referring to and myself also. I found an article too I’ll share it! 😂
You straight up mentioned Rome Georgia and the homeless act. Furthermore, the transfer that you were whining about this year came from Franklin County but you talked about SP having an advantage to being 30 miles from Chattanooga schools not counting L.V. We have lost a lot of good players over the years. One I have in mind went to Boydie for example. The best freshman running back I ever say in 1a or A transferred to Alabama after the season. He looked like Eddie Moore on the field as a freshman. We had 3 or 4 this year and at least 1 impact player last year the left after 2023 title game.

Wasn’t Farrior the best returning defensive player?
He was the best one that returned, arguably. I am referring to another player from the state championship team from 2023 that transferred.

Amnesia refers to the loss of memories, including facts, information and experiences. I think those skillet heads have a bad case of it.😂
The problem with you is you remember stuff that was wrong and/or inaccurate when you actually knew it. How is your team looking this year?

The Georgia kid had nothing to do with the probation from the TSSAA. That was the brothers from Hixon. Furthermore, it seems Celina doesn't teach TN geography. Franklin County is west of Marion County. Its also funny how you guys never complain about the players that leave SP. In 2024 for example, the best returning defensive player transferred out. This year we lost about 3 players. There are plenty of examples going back the past 30 years.

Probably haven’t scrimmaged in the spring since the year they got caught recruiting and paying for players apartments. I don’t remember what year it was but it was a Covid year. 2020 maybe. Only reason I remember is because that was one of TSSAA’s slap on the wrist to SP. No spring scrimmage on a year they weren’t Allowing spring scrimmages. 😂
Scoop&Poop, That isn't what happened and you know it.

Had spring for first time since 14 (no baseball players) haven't heard much at all.Other than we may not throw a pass.lol.No QB and single wing type offense. Kids are having fun again so make you have a positive feeling of moving forward, heard we have about 40 out total. And yes we are serious!LOL.Like I said before may take a year or two to fix the messes that have been made. But I'm confident in Greenback kids!
SP used to throw out of the side saddle Single Wing. The Mayor could come up there and show you how to do it.

Thanks for responding to my 7 month old post. Yes, the coaching staff was mediocre. You just made the case with the number of players a 1a school graduated and returning. With the case you made, you should be able to hang with Alcoa with those players.
