Well OK then. I guess congrats are due? I really do not know much about the Commonwealth state or where many of these schools or cities are located. I did understand that there was multiple champions in each classification. I did see Clintwood listed as beating Bath co. (Bath County) I bet its an oxymoron. LOL. Anyway Clintwood beat them for State last year? After getting hammered by Falcons. Wow. Gooooo! Greenwave!

While I was trying to figure out how many State champions Va. has in each division I did find this nugget.. Just about let this slip my mind.. Out of the VHSL record book Most points one game (both teams): 193 Kingsport, Tenn. 193 Norton 0 9-25-25

Having the Pats on the schedule would be a plus. Always a great and intense series all the way through.. Frosh, JV & Varsity. Maybe Art can feed us some facts on this series. However this years match up might be the last match up for a few years out. I really wouldn't want Jeff Co. dropped but I think alot of us here in Kingsport would welcome a new challenge with Maryville. Stopping the running game and stepping up on special teams won't be enough this year. As long as the Tribe stays healthy , wealthy and wise it will be a major challenge for the Pats to over come DB. Just like the military this DB team covers the land , see and air very well. Pretty good chance this will be one of the best teams Jeff Co. will face this year.

Uh? Maybe I am wrong but doesn't Va. have like 3 or 4 "State Champions" for each classification. Don't remember any team from swva playing a Norfolk , Richmond , Va. Beach team. I am certain they still play some football on the other side of the state ?

hilltop..This post is a bit more user friendly than the one you had on here last night. If you do have this much disdain for the program then go find another. Somebody must not be getting much if any playing time in your family. If a players number gets called don't so quick to call him out. He worked hard , put his time in and deserved the chance. Good bad or otherwise you are out of line calling any high school player out like you have. I know many of the hill players and the ones I do know are class acts unlike yourself. The player you continue to call out is an outstanding athlete and well deserves any chance he may get.

Good job East. Wonder if anybody else will run the Blitz against the Falcons this year. -44 yards rushing.... might wanna try something different next time???

I thought the Tribe played well tonight. Was glad to see several young men get some good quality playing time tonight. I wouldn't say they played great as Blount did have their struggles. Jamie did take the game on his shoulders and really stepped up. The secondary showed some chinks in the armour. Got baked on the reverse pass play. Erwin did a very good job. Little bit more time getting the ball and I think he will hit the lanes even quicker. The interior linemen on both sides of the ball for DB are for real. The true core of the team. Hows that for some linemen props. #15 for the Govs did have his moments tonight good and bad but played very well for a Frosh. I hope Sylvester and the boys get some quick healing next week. Could get rough real quick with the top 2 backs out. The man of Steele is quick baby, he does make everybody else look not fast.

That is fine ghost no problem ...But not in my opinion. You win or you don't. Does the better team always win? No. But it is never closer than the score.You play 4 quarters, depth of team, injurys etc.. You play the whole game not just the 1st 1/2 or 3 quarters. You run out of gas, you get lucky or you are just down right better and wear the other team down in 2nd 1/2 and put them away. Does that make it closer than the score? Not in my opinion. Closer than the score shows? Sounds like a Boys Club Dad taking it easy on the kids. Or Cap just being the idiot he is. 29 points is a bit much to even make a so called sarcastic comment on and say it was closer that the score. It wasn't. They got a beat down. Please....They played well. They hung with them for 1/2 the game. Just got over matched in the 2nd half etc..

IMO Oak Ridge has one of the most awesome game entrances of any High School team I have seen! Heck I was on the visitors side and it fired me up! Roll Tribe Roll!!

How is a game ever closer than the score? That has to be one of the all time lame cop outs in the history of any sport. The score is what it is. You lose by 29 point it don't get any closer. You loose by 1 it would be a close game but no closer than the score. 29 points by any measure is a whoopin.

Missed it by that much! Win number 701 vs 208 losses. JS JC & DS looked very good tonight. Def did a great job containing 31 for most of the night. Great fight and good night. Roll Tribe... Buy Bye Cap!

The Stone Castle was built before they could count to 2,000. (much less 6,000 like we see in the model city)They had no way of planning for that amount of parking and fan attendance.

It will be even worse when our friends come visting and find out most of the home side is sold out reserved seating. The section on the scoreboard end is the student section. The other end is non reserved but fills up quickly!
