i agree on all your points... the guy they hire may never be mentioned on this thread. i didnt think of the Alabama factor which very well could happen. Rice would leave in my opinion there. but not hiring a rival would be hard. PC is a big rival of MTP as well. They posted on TSSAA that the deadline is March 15. new coach will be hard set to have a spring practice. the teacher position has a lot to do with it. now-a-days you have to TEACH. a lot of things that are not attractive about the job. i would like to hear a mtp posters' opinion on the matter...

a lot of assumptions for not wanting to hire the BEST available coach. no coach is going to garantee a life long committment. Smith left after 9 years. You assume that the WC coaches would want to go back to WC. One of the coaches from WC is there now so why leave if you plan on coming back? the other one has never coached at WC. not many coaches go Down a classification for lower pay and less talent. i dont see the assistants staying for a long period of time but as for Rice; i think he could stay for a while. If mtp is looking for a long time coach, they would need to hire someone from Mtp. maybe someone on staff now. The PC coach has only been there for 6 years, would they want to hire someone looking to move on every 6 to 7 years? using your way of thinking... they may never find a coach if fear of embarassment. i guess we are also assuming that any of these coaches have even applied for the job. does anyone know for sure, who has?

I think the PC coach is actually a double wing guy. the offensive coordinator of the last few years is not coming back from what i hear. a friend of mine at a local university says he is helping them. i am not sure of what His name is... but either one of those two would be a good one for Mt Pleasant. i think one of the coaches mentioned from waynesboro (keeton, bradley) running the veer with those athletes would be killer. thier version of the spread looked pretty good as well in the championship game. last time i watched a mtp game they loved running the qb in a single wing flavor more than a spread type offense. good luck mtp

so dont hire someone that may leave after 10 or so years??? anyone of those two would be a great hire for mtp. Bradley was at Haywood, back when they were good. Keeton, if he is looking to get to the highschool level, would also do a good job. i see Rice and Crews sticking around in W,Boro until they retire...in more like 15 to 20.

you nominate him for every job. i am not sure but i believe i remember reading were he just left Gibson County...?

i dont think Rice would want to leave WC, but he has had a former assistant or two that would be a good fit.

the article said they were Frat Brothers and Friends... odd how that wasnt overlooked. must have been some laspe in judgement... AE handled it well i think. i agree Bragg would be a good choice and he is available! Coach Gillard could go back to Jackson and help his almamater JCM which is in dyer need of help. close to his daughter. Win Win. Everyone deserves second chances.

the only coach responsible for the "mess" they are in right now is coach Kelly. he CANNOT and will not take his nose out of the program, (anyone that read the article in the paper can see that) Westmoreland will not get a good coach becuase they WILL NOT allow him to hire his own staff... he will be forced to work with Kelly and his staff or not at all. the only way Westmoreland will be successful is to hire the assistant you mentioned or hire an ex coach that played under kelly so he can be a puppet for the master. kelly cant win in the new classification and niether will anyone else until you clean house. "coach" Duffer will not hire anyone with an independent mind becuase he was under kelly as well. i hope they find a good one on staff... i think Akins would be a good one and can turn the place around. so i am guessing Coach Stacey resigned only as head coach and he will be staying on as a teacher? if that is the case then nobody would want that job except for a staff member of his. He is not thinking about the program if that is the case. that has problems written all over it...

i was texted by two really good coaches that were planning on applying for this job, it would be a shame if they didnt post it to find out what they could get, the community of Forrest could really miss out!

If they cannot get a Head coach because of the staff issue... then The best thing for Forrest to do is go out and hire an offensive or defensive coordinator from a 5A or 6A school... one that is ready to take a head coaching position, knows what it is like to work with a staff that is hired by someone else. also they will not have a staff built up so that may not be a problem. howdoyouknow? whodoyouknow? i would guess it would almost have to be a first time head coach (some assistant out there looking for an oppurtunity) but i could be wrong.

not to overlook this matchup which HC should win but i would love to see a HC matchup with Gallatin. HC embarassed Beech earlier in the season and most of the time Sumner County has some great football teams which shows this year with all of their teams making it to the second round.

it is rare to have mr. football finalist playing against each other but for PC it has happened two years in a row. the SP kid is really good as well but... i think this year will go to Tucker... by a landslide.

i agree, i was suprised they didnt wait until after the playoffs to post the job. there will be several good assistants that will wait to apply when they dont have the playoffs to worry about.

no way am i saying not show up... i have coached several upsets in my day and Pc could get the upset this week but this prediction is what we do on coach t. i thought you would know that by now. You were dumbing down a win over a very good milan team which is foolish to do... you HAVE to respect that win. PC had a chance to get a real respectable win and failed to do so against WC which is why i picked the way i did. but Friday all bets are off when the ball is kicked and no records are counted.
