  1. so who remembers the last time JSS played a team from cheatham county in the first round and thought their hawks were untouchable because i remember that game like it was yesterday. i wouldnt look past cheatham if you want to keep playing this season.
  2. meigs co fans, how far away is your field from UT-K's campus?
  3. i really hope wareagles53 isnt who i think it is after reading that post. but anyways that being said, whoever the orange fan from cheatham county is, i dont want to hear it. sycamore beat u this year so shutup. but i will also make the point, i believe cheathams coaching is much much better than sycamore. it has been ever since tommy tharp left SHS. sycamores seems to lose good coaches every year (tharp, boner, keasler, jones, etc.) while cheatham can keep at least their head coach and D-coordinator. sycamore has had a new defense EVERY year for the past 3 years i think. its hard for kids to learn a new system every year. but anyways enough of this. i would really like to see sycamore win tonight so i can make my way to macon next week to see them earn a shot at the playoffs. whoever is the most physical wins tonight. i wonder who that will be. War Eagles, get on here after the game and let me know what went down.
  4. sycamore should be getting at least a little bit more recognition. i mean they handed it to a good lipscomb team in the preseason (i dont want to hear the excuses, maybe the war eagles made them play that bad), and to a very good and undefeated station camp team in the last minute, and for whatever reason blew a 21-0 lead against a very good pearl cohn team. these war eagles seem mighty talented to me, just cant seem to put the nail in the coffin. if they figure that out, watch out 3a. also, big country, is there any way u can post some war eagle players season stats for me? those r pretty hard to come by out here in east tennessee.
  5. they do a little bit of everything. if the team from tonights 1st half shows up sycamoe will get crushed. if the team from the 2nd half shows up id bet on sycamore.
  6. personally i think tate is THE best talent(offense) in the state if not the south east. i mean no one does that to GB and golden did it in the first game and made it look easy against what im sure is a stellar defense.
  7. marshall has a FANTASTIC RB named donta hightower. he didnt play against sycamore last year. i believe he had over 200 yards aginast a very stout lipscomb defense and thats something special. sycamore will have another very tough challenge. my view on tonight, the line play was even for the most part so the game was a push...until u account for the mistakes. CW had a couple turnovers and some costly penalties. sycamore was very well disciplined and protected the ball, that clearly made the difference. best of luck to both teams the rest of the year.
  8. all 3 schools in cheatham county have their good seasons and their dry spells in all 3 major sports. starting in the 06 year id say football goes 1. sycamore, 2. cheatham, 3. harpeth while baseball looks like 1. harpeth, t2. cheatham & sycamore. sycamore academics and such seem on the rise with the new principal full of ideas and potential. all in all id say the 3 schools r about equal in sports and academics. i guess it just depends on what area u prefer and where u can get the best deal on a house.
  9. im not even part of sycamore high these days and im pretty excited about this game tonight. should be a great one. baseballfan1, when r u headin to jackson?
  10. big country, you gonna be at the game tonight? wheres a good view point at ole spangler stadium? its been quite some time since ive seen a game from the stands. and yes i know creek wood only lost one starter but im banking on sycamores line being GREATLY improved. if not, the red hawks win easily. but i have faith in my war eagles. i hope no one gets hurt and best of luck to both teams. o and ftblledge14, word to the wise. quit posting stuff that u guys talk about at practice (such as lohins roles in the game) and pretty much anything else. i do not believe coach halstead wants his players on here posting much if anything.
  11. last years sycamore game wasnt decided by any skill position players. it was the line that won it for creek wood. im expecting the same thing friday, who evers line plays the best both ways will win it. this game will be decided in the trenches and the play (good or bad) of the skill position players will reflect it.
  12. ok congrats u could move the ball against 2 below average team and still couldnt score. sycamore marched the ball down the field AND scored against traditionally strong lipscomb. thats saying something. o and lets not forget they kept lipscomb out of the end zone even with mr football candidate matt elrod in the back field. thats also saying something. as i clearly stated earlier, they have alot more than a good QB. im sure this will be a typical sycamore year, they r very good and talented and absolutely no opponents give them any credit until after they r beaten by the war eagles.
  13. if creek wood cant score against columbia or lawrence county they certainly wont put up anymore than 7-10 points against sycamore. i guarantee u sycamore will score at least 13. this years team resembles the '04 team led by garza, polk, and vaugh except ALOT more physical. their offense is not 1 dimensional with 2 good receivers, mutliple talented backs(who can also catch well), and one of the most athletic QB's ive seen since mr garza. o and their defense isnt too bad either. im liking sycamore by at least a TD.
  14. well sycamore has to platoon this year because according to coach gary halstead they have no "kyle graham" this year. haha just messin, sycamore should be really good this year as long as the injuries dont pile up like the last 2 years. big country, i will be shipping out to knoxville saturday morning and officially be a Volunteer. im hoping to see sycamore out there for a playoff game this year.
  15. HAHAHAHAHAHA well the difference is carrigan actually resembles mature and down to earth, not the world police like that certain individual. and since everybody knows who i am u should know im just messing with mr carrigan because i know hes better than i ever was, just like most other people i played with or against.
  16. i dont know this personally, just heard it through the grapevine, that carrigan is about as athletic as jarrod from subway....pre-subway diet.
  17. i dont know this personally, just heard it through the grapevine, that carrigan is about as athletic as jarrod from subway....pre-subway diet.
  18. wvumoney, lets hope thats not a recurring problem like last year. i knew first hand what it was like las year and the line this year should be the best since the run to the quarterfinals a few years back. a good line is the key in high school football and i wish u guys the best of luck. ill scout some knoxville teams for u boys when it comes playoff time.
  19. mc cowboy, are you my favorite coach who just left his first TN school for another bigger TN program?
  20. do u think killian will go? wheres he going to school?
  21. speaking of vandy, i have a feeling burke will go pro but that still leaves them goodenow, minor(who should stay and wont get that much money going 359th), and lamm. thats 3 phenomenal pitchers, not to mention all 3 can hit exceptionally well. id say vanderbilt has one of if not the best recruiting class in the nation. i personally dont see y minor would go ahead to the pros. going in the 13th round isnt going to get u hardly anything as opposed to going to vandy for a couple of years and getting a top notch educatio without spending a dime. he will also develop further and would end up, in my mind, being a first round pick. that seems like the way to go, but once again thats just me.
  22. well i guess about the only TN standouts left are goodenow and lamm. has anyone heard anything about them?
  23. not to mention price is only a sophomore yet considered 1 of the 5 best in NCAA baseball(he's a finalist for the golden spikes award). i expect him to go #1 next year
  24. that is sad news. my thoughts are with him. for everyone that knows coach ralph spangler and his status in cheatham county, i would say mr tommy tharp, if he had stayed(i dont blame him for leaving C.C. politics and education is a joke), he might have surpassed coach spangler. coach tharp is definently one of the greatest coaches around.
  25. sycamore high school has had a drug testing policy for a few years now concerning every athlete. they have to take 1 required DT per year and are subject to random ones throughout the school year. a first offense is a parent call and any subsuquent failures get you suspended for however long. as on testing EVERY student i think that might be a bit over the line unless they consent to it(which athletes do when they decide to play) and plus it would be very expensive for every student and as we all know most tennessee schools arent blesses with alot of money. but thats my 2 cents.
