  1. IS this the most lopsided rivalry in Tennessee? My wife is an East alum so I've heard about it from her. 1969-2007 thats what 38 years straight. Is there any other schools with that kind of dominance.
  2. Thats a pretty strange rule but thats the whacky Federaion rules for you. I used to ump HS Baseball and it has some odd rules that really don't make a lot of sense compared with every other league of baseball. This rule if explotted would almost always take the punt/fg decession out of the question. I kind of don't like it, it takes some strategy out of the game. THe worse that happens on a FG attempt that doesn't get blocked is that the other team would get the ball at the twenty. I think I would prefer the College rule (The NFL Rule is a bit harash) to atleast make a coach weigh the options before banging away at field goals that he knows his kids can't hit.
  3. Ok, so if you have a kicker that can hit a 40 yd fg but you have a 55 yd attempt as a coach you might as well let him try because if he doesnt have the leg you have a chance of downing it inside the 10? Wow thats crazy. Instead of punting you could just have your kicker directionally kick for the ball to roll out of bounds at the 2. I'm surprised I have never seen a coach take advantage of this before tonight.
  4. but if the wilson central returner hears his coach dont touch it, the ball is going to be at the Mt Juliet 35. Thats a crazy gamble. It worked for Mt Juliet because the Wilson Central returner did pick it up, but its kind of crazy hoping that the other team would make a kid makes a dumb mistake. Why not just send out the punter?
  5. I just moved to Western Wilson Co and so I thought I'd check out the game between Mt Juliet and Wilson Central. On the first drive of the game Mt Juliet stalled and sent out the field goal team on their half of the field. I'm not sure why but they snapped it the holder held and the kicker kicked the ball. So essentially instead of punting they attempted about a 85 yd field goal. Now Wilson Central thinking it was a fake had a return man. So anyway the kick lands around the WC 45 and rolls about five yds where for some reason I can't figure out the return man picked the ball up. Now correct me if I am wrong but if they had just left the ball alone would the kick not have been ruled a missed field goal and the ball given to Wilson Central at the line of scrimage of the previous play? I Have never seen a coach use a place kicker instead of a punter in that situation. Was this a trick play hoping that the opposing kid would do something stupid or is it a obscure rule?
  6. Does Rockwood have enough to beat CAK and get in?
  7. The miss named "roane Co high" wins by as much as they want.

    Rockwood 06

Oh the punishment fit the crime. I don't think you will see him wearing a RHS uniform ever again. Maybe a Stone Memorial uniform next year, though.
  9. Indeed, the losers band should be banned from playing "Land of a thousand Dances(we're Number 1)" for a year. Of course I dont think Wartburg has a band...
  10. I realize that region 2 was the only one that fit but still you have to wonder what TSSAA was thinking. It's over 100 miles and a time zone away from Livingston to the Knoxville area. What does everyone think of this new arrangement? I was relived that York Institiute didnt get added to Region 2AA for this same reason. I think in region games LA is going to have a slight advantage at home and slight disadvantage on the road just from the travel. Also Region games for LA are going to probably not make them as much money because I dought lots of people will make the drive.
  11. Yes the O-line didnt fumble the ball 3 or 4 times but the interseptions and the sacking of the punter are defently on them. They effectively pressured Zach most of the night. Midway is an alright team this year, just think of what rest of the competetion will be able to do. Midway may not have sacked Zach a lot, but #33 for Midway was in the backfield nearly every down. And the O-line gave up a huge sack at the end of the game that sealed the game as it put Rockwood beyond the range of Matt Hill.
  12. Well RHSfootball1, it may be worse than I thought. The o-line barely protected Zach, and didnt ween't able to spring a long run. At least when a DE isnt laying on top of him Zach can throw. Unfortunately only one guy seems to be able to catch. The all mighty experienced secondary got torched by a team that mostly runs the option. Wartburg may be the only chance at a win this year for the Tigers. Loudon and Sweetwater probably will run all over them. CAK may have 300 yds passing, Alcoa...well lets just not think about that. OS will pound the ball up the middle and there really is no one on the line to stop them before Allen or Moriorty hit them 4yds past the line. Harriman is on an up swing and will be tough. Kingston and Pigeon Forge are going to be bigger and more physical than anything we will be able to match up with. Don't expect crooked numbers in the win column this year.
  13. If they lose the rest of there non-region games ( and i dont think they will ) they easily sweep Region2AA and run away with the State Championship. Perhaps they will move up a to Division AAA (please please) to find some competetion.
  14. IF the official hadnt reported it, he'd've been in trouble and probably not allowed to ref anymore. If he didnt report and Alcoa let him play on Friday, someone wouldve turned them in and You all would be forced to forfeit after the fact and fined for an illegal player.
  15. No, I think the guys on the line this year are just going to be so undersized, inexperienced, and not all that tough, that theres going to be a deffensive-end permantly attached to Zach Breazelle. And on Defense Bryant Allen isnt going to have much room to make tackles because the opponets O-line is going to be in his face after pushing aside our D line men.
